Lovely self contained accommodation set away from the main town centre. The room is a good size and offers a small food prep area with microwave, fridge, kettle and toaster. The shower room is a good size. Everything very clean and fresh. Breakfast was great and offered a veggie option, not greasy at all which you sometimes get with a cooked breakfast. A great place to base yourself, you're free to come and go with no other guests to consider. We've stayed here before with our dog; he's unfortunately no longer with us but Grooms welcomes dogs and there is plenty of room (we previously had a collapsable crate). Car parking is also off-street and secure and there is a lawned garden

The only minor thing I would suggest is blackout blinds - being such a light sleeper any daylight has the tendancy to keep me awake. For those who like to stay connected you might struggle with there being no wifi - not an issue for us

Spotlessly clean (the room, and especially the bedding smelled wonderfully fresh and clean). Bed was firm, but really comfortable. Amazing breakfast. Exceptional provisions and amenities(real milk and a full loaf of bread provided!). Dog friendly as advertised was an understatement! Maureen really went out of her way to make me and my dog feel totally at home. Stunning setting, great views, relaxing and cozy atmosphere.

Really struggling to find any negatives, but if I were to be REALLY nit-picky here, I'd say the bathroom mirror was ever so slightly too high... but I guess that's my own fault for being a shorty haha.

This was our 2nd stay in this lovely little studio cottage. There is everything you need including bread, jam, butter, cereals, yoghurt, tea, coffee etc and the cooked breakfast that is brought over to you in the morning is amazing. It’s only a short walk into Moffat Centre and a lovely river walk and park. Our 3 dogs love it here as they are also provided with treats but just be aware the garden isn’t enclosed for them but that’s not a great problem. Thank you again

On arrival we were warmly welcomed by Maureen who showed us around Groom's Cottage. The accommodation had everything you could need, with a stocked kitchenette, tea and coffee, and even sweet treats. Clean and comfortable with plenty of space, the cottage looks out onto a lovely garden. Maureen brought over our cooked breakfast each morning, which was delicious! I could not fault our stay in any way and look forward to returning.

We were welcomed by Maureen, who showed us to our little cottage for the night. Our pug received a bag of dog treats. The room was clean, and had a microwave, toaster and a fridge. The fridge had a bottle of fresh milk, bottle of orange juice and yoghurt pots for breakfast. (Although a cooked breakfast is also offered) There is clearly a lot of attention to detail, which made the stay much more enjoyable.

Every thing was excellent so rather than list every detail every detail exceeded Excellent. We will come back. Very clean, great food and check the fridge, Maureen thinks of every thing right down to chocs by the bedside. Loved it!! Ok it rained, but "sunshine" was everywhere else.

The location was good. Close enough to major roads and a short walk to town. Set in well kept grounds. Plenty of choice of cereals and jams plus a whole loaf of bread. Paid for the cooked breakfast which was delivered on time, nice and hot and a good sized portion. Our host was very friendly.

The blinds in the room didn’t quite make the room dark enough. We stayed in June so woke very early. Will take an eye mask next time.

Grooms Cottage is a fantastic little property with all the facilities you need, ideal for an overnight stay to break up a long journey. There was myself, my husband and our three boxer dogs who fit snuggly into the cottage. The fridge and cupboard were well stocked with bread, jams, sauces, milk, butter, yoghurts and the breakfast was amazing, brought to our door at the time we specified. Our host was very friendly on our arrival and we didn’t see her again until she came across with our breakfast the next morning. Also a great garden although not enclosed so we had to keep the dogs on a lead which wasn’t a problem and great views. All in all a great nights stay, thank you.

Nothing, it was an amazing little place

The place was spotlessly clean and tidy, and exceptionally well stocked. There was an excellent selection of food available for breakfast, and a full cooked breakfast delivered in the morning. The Brita filter in the fridge was also a nice touch. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. An exceptional place to to stay.

Great location- only a 10min walk into town. Maureen was very welcoming and attentive. She also had some treats for our dog and cooked her a sausage on the morning! Great place to stop off and take a break from travelling.

Having access to wifi would be an added bonus but not essential for us.
