Wonderful quiet location, Georgian house, large windows, very nice and stylish design of the rooms and hall. The room and bathroom were very clean and bright. Small details such as the little table by the window with coffee and tea maker and a small lamp added to the cosiness. The windows overlooked the garden so there was always a sense of privacy. Netflix and other channels were available on TV. I only stayed for three nights but room cleaning was available to me on request any day. Special thanks to the staff for a very warm and hospitable welcome! The room had asbolutely everything we needed for a comfortable stay, including an iron and hairdryer. The fridge was only available in the common room. Thank you very much, I would love to stay again!

I stayed here for a week, visiting my daughter and being a tourist in Edinburgh for the first time. I liked that the guest house was very clean, and there was a communal lounge provided. My room was compact, but had a very comfortable bed, hanging space, and a modern bathroom. The room was serviced every day. The location was good, I was able to walk everywhere I wanted to, plus the bus was nearby. There were also cafes, pubs and a supermarket very close by.

Apart from bedside tables, there were no drawers to put clothes. Also, the fridge in my room didn't work properly, it didn't get cold at all. There was a fridge in the communal lounge which I could have used, but I would have liked my room fridge to work!

It has good location, everything worked very well and there is a good living room next to reception of the hotel that is possible to be there talking, drinking and make plan of our trip (I liked it).

Some rooms don’t have a good space around de bed, and the toilet doesn’t have a good space too, although that it’s a good place. The problem happened with me was that the manager rent all rooms and when I arrived there we waiting more than 30 minutes discussing about solution. We needed to stay a night in a room and after that we moved for other, ia was not so good, but the manager was kind and good hostel.

No breakfast was expected to be provided as there were numerous excellent cafes nearby. The bed was really comfortable and the shower was great. The room suited us very well for our three night stay. Contact beforehand was also very good and most helpful. The communal lounge was also most welcoming and with a great outlook onto the surrounding sandstone terraces. The location on the number 36 bus route was ideal for us!

Nothing really, the view out of the back window was not great but that was because the garden looked like it was starting to be re-developed and that outlook will soon green-up.

Love the atmosphere of this place and the room was perfect. Good shower, very large bed and excellent pillows. The shared living room has comfortable seats and is a great place to sit and relax if you don’t want to hang in your own room. The surrounding area is also great. Lovely restaurants, cafes and shops around the corner. Catch the bus almost in front of this place to visit royal yacht Britannia. Also a great starting point for the Leith water walkway towards the village of Dean or just a 15 min walk towards the city centre.

Very tastefully furnished room and a very nice common room. The location is fantastic, great restaurants and cafes but also many very nice shops in the immediate vicinity. If you are a good walker, you can do without public transport altogether, you can get anywhere within 15 to 45 Minutes depending on where you want to go. There are also many buses in the immediate vicinity. I would definitly stay there again and will recommend the accommodation to anyone going to Edinburgh. It was a very pleasant stay.

We got the biggest room (as the host said) and it was marvelous. Beautiful and comfortable. We had everything we needed: coffee machine, tea kettle, hair dryer, big tv, our own bathroom. The bed was huge and very comfortable. There is a common living room as well on the grand floor. It is also very nice and cosy. The host was helpful. The location was good. Close to the center, near a great park with a river.

The shower was a bit uncomfortable, but still provided what we needed for a few night stay.

Room was STUNNING and clean! Looks better than photos. Close to public transport and in such a good area. Close to a main street with lots of shops and restaurants. Very generous with their coffee and tea servings, and you're even lucky enough to have your own coffee machine. Highly recommend this spot to anyone wishing to stay somewhere comfortable and beautiful while they're away.

Staff just seemed a little unhappy, but were never rude mind you. Just weren't exactly easy to talk to. The room we had faced the street as well, so not exactly private unless you shut curtains, but the stay is still worth a 5 star in my books!

We really loved our stay in Edinburgh, and this guest house suited our needs for this trip perfectly. Good sized, comfortable and clean room with everything we needed (we had a room in the basement). Great quiet location, and perfect for a walk to the city center. Good selection of cafes, shops and resturants/pubs nearby. Overall great value for the price!

The sound isolation to the room next to ours weren't that good. We can imagine it could be bothersome to some people.

The New Town Guesthouse is, as the name suggests, in New Town Edinburgh. You can reach it on foot from Prince Street in about 20 minutes. A beautiful area, a local supermarket and many cafes and restaurants are in the immediate vicinity. The rooms are not big, but they are very clean and you can make yourself a coffee in the morning. The inn team is very, very nice. I lost something very important in the room and the team found it and is sending it to me in Germany. Thank you very much, dear team, I can only warmly recommend you
