Clean and welcoming, deffo recommend

Chipped coffee cups, no toilet brush, shower didn't drain properly.... otherwise really, really good...feel a bit guilty writing anything bad here as it was Very nice, but you did ask - now wish I'd said it privately...

Breakfast was delicious. Friendly staff, although not on site. I asked for a fan and was given one. Parking included. The drinks and snacks available were appreciated although we didn't have any.

I didn't like that the booking wasn't flexible, as with COVID still affecting large numbers of people, travel is a bit uncertain. I would have liked somewhere outside to hang wet beach towels and swimwear to dry. Also, a mini fridge in the room for keeping our water bottles cold would be a great addition. Having beach towels available on request would also be a fantastic addition.

Excellent service from staff & owner. Others have criticized not having staff/owner on site 24/7. It worked fine for us with very accommodating arrival times when they are on site, (or use of a key safe), so it shouldn't put people off. Plenty of off-road parking. "Bay" room was a good size, not enormous but very workable. Nice to have a bath & shower. Very clean, nicely decorated & presented. Very good breakfast.

Minor niggles stop the rooms being excellent: Bathroom door lock that needed a good shove/tug; and no toilet brush.

A fantastic location, with an incredible view of the beach and sea from our room. The breakfast was lovely every day, with more than adequate options. Our room was very nicely decorated, with a great window seat, ideal for taking in the view, not the biggest room, but the space was utilised well and was ample for our relatively short stay. Only a two minute stroll down to the beach, which has a really good cafe and bar serving very nice food, and even has its own bakery that serves up tasty fresh bread and pastries. It is also just a ten minute walk into Falmouth town centre, with its lovely harbour, shops, bars and countless restaurants, there is certainly no shortage of places to get a drink and something to eat.

We would have liked to have checked in a little earlier, and I felt that we could have, considering that we let ourselves in via a key in a security box. I think the expectation might need to be made a little clearer, certainly for those staying for the first time. There were text messages exchanged, but we still didn’t know that there were no staff on site at all, until we arrived. Maybe a failure on our part? The stairs might be too much for some less mobile guests, and the car Park a little tight for some, but these are just minor things that didn’t really bother us, but could be more of a problem to others.

Just some maintenance issues. Door knob coming off, some light bulbs weren't working and extractor fan in bathroom was very dirty.

Breakfast was okay, but what you'd expect. Location was nice with beach and promenade nearby, and town within walking distance. Room had nice view, liked the window seat, was very clean and bed was comfortable. A little cramped in the shower room/toilet. Parking.

Slightly cramped in shower room and bedroom, but it is a roof room, so to be expected I guess. This isn't the host's fault, but couldn't get a mobile signal (this might be a plus for some!).

The garden room was a lovely space with separate dressing room and entrance. Everywhere was pretty clean.

Breakfast had to be between 8am and 9.20am which seemed kind of strict for a hotel. The kettle in the room needs replacing as it just kept boiling.

A)The staff go out of their way to make you comfortable and the locale is perfect for beach lovers. B)Town or the castle are a very doable walk. C)They aren’t kidding about the breakfast- it is made to order and very well prepared. D)The Bay room has a gorgeous view of the ocean. Nice outdoor areas to sit and enjoy a cocktail or soda. E) on-site parking is spacious considering how close to the beach you are and included in room rate.

A few things to know- and I’m not pointing these out as bad; merely good to know: A) this is an older house and while most things are in excellent condition some rooms aren’t in brand new condition. Tourists can be tough on things. The wall to wall carpet in the bay room was nice in that I’m sure it muffled sound but it’s seen happier days. If you aren’t bothered by of wear on the carpet you’ll be happy with the room. B) the staff aren’t always on the premises but they are easily reachable by phone or text and are happy to help whenever. They do make every effort to reach you ahead of time and meet you at the property or at least make sure you know how to get in. C) Rooms are upstairs and you will be carrying your cases on a stair- that said it’s a wide comfortable stair and not steep.

I had a large quiet room with a balcony and a view over the sea. Comfortable bed and large TV. Had a good night's sleep in spite of seagulls mewing and a foghorn out at sea.

It was the most expensive hotel room I have ever paid for, but I guess Easter in Cornwall is at a premium, and it was actually a double room. The duplicate payment to confirm the booking is still on the pending transactions page of my bank statement one week after payment, which is a little worrying.

It had everything you need from guest accommodation. Comfy bed with lovely linen, hot shower with all the normal bathroom stuff you need, well cooked breakfast and plenty of hot strong coffee. The house is beautifully decorated and furnished, and close enough to the beach to be able to hear the sea. Our room had blackout curtains and was quiet, so we slept well. On site parking was a bonus. Lovely and friendly hosts too.

Couldn't find a hairdryer in the room but had my own, so not a problem. I'm sure they would have found me one if I had asked ... 🙂
