Great to get free room upgrade. Plenty of parking available. Staff very friendly and helpful. Clean room and bathroom immaculate. Good breakfast selection and good coffee. Nice pool.

Check in and check out. System didnt work . Luckily i found someone to help but felt like a travelodge rather than quality hotel. Could have been very impersonal start. No tea / coffee in room. Many have commented and agree that as a single traveller didn't want to come down in night or early to get drink . Check out was problematic . Billing was incorrect . Tried to sort and told system error and meal would be free . Then got call to say that was wrong. If there had been a proper reception this wouldn't have happened . Shame as it somewhat spoilt an otherwise good break.

No kettles in the rooms . This was explained to us as sustainability (even though lights were left on everywhere)but I’m sure there is a way around this ie kettles that only boil one cup at a time ? Biodegradable coffee sachets ? There was free coffee/tea downstairs but this is not the same As having it in your room. It increased the amount of people walking up and down the corridor making it noisy. And ourselves and my elderly parents all went without. It’s nice to have a drink when you wake up.

Friendly, helpful staff wonderful bed and pillows, lovely pool and gym equipment, like the eco ethos. Warm, very pretty entrance hall

I liked it all, tiny details that could be even better were - check there are 2 robes when 2 guests Maintain coffee machine through the day...make sure drip tray/water tank don't need sorting when guests are wanting to make a drink ( I was happy with the drinks station, but waiting around for machine to be sorted out gave others who were less keen a chance to grumble). Breakfast was delicious but a bit confusing. 'Buffet' implies self collection, therefore we didn't order those bits. If you want it to be waiter service, rename it on the menu

All the staff were excellent. Comfortable communal spaces. Comfy bed, pillows and bed linen. Lovely bath towels. breakfasts good.

The bathroom in my ground floor room in need of an update. Shower curtain over bath was far too long and got in the way of having a comfortable shower. Being on the ground floor , with just a patchy hedge between my room and the neighbouring tennis courts, I would have liked to have had net curtains or similar, for privacy, rather than having to pull the heavy blackout curtains across when changing in the daytime. We ate dinner at the hotel for the two nights we stayed. All the food was delicious but not hot when it arrived, and the portions were very small. Side dishes were necessary but very expensive.

Lovely feel to the place and the room was very comfortable. The leisure facilities were great. Fab location, about a 10 minute walk to the main high street and beach.

Check in was faceless via an automated machine and there was no guest information in the room. My questions were quickly answered via messaging the hotel via the booking.com app. No kettle etc in the room but there is a communal coffee facility located near the front of the hotel which can be a bit of a treck depending your room location. Check out was also automated and had to ask a member of staff where to hand in my key.

Decor, service, cleanliness were all excellent. Pool was lovely.

Lack of choice for some items at breakfast, e.g. cereal and orange juice. Whilst juice was available it was limited to apple or carrott as juice of the day. The hotel location was further from the town than I thought. It is a good 25 to 30 minute walk into the town. Not so bad going into but uphill on the way back. However the walk to the beach was around 15 to 20 minutes and slightly easier.

it was an old style property with character. the staff were friendly. the hotel is in a good location.

the hotel was extremely hot everywhere the staff need more training, for example we ordered a glass of cognac and our drink was full of ice, when it should be served in a warm glass. staff didn’t know how to present drinks properly. breakfast was often taken down incorrect. I didn’t like a computerised check in and check out. I like to see a face.

Superb building in excellent order. Room was extremely comfortable and well equipped. Particularly liked the tea coffee station which was available 24/7 and well located for all bedrooms. Everyone very friendly

Breakfast was disappointing, particularly the vegan option.The buffet options were good but the fruit bowl contained rock hard fruit. My wife ordered from the vegan option (no vegetarian option)smashed peas(full of salt)baked beans on toast(not toasted)and grilled tomatoes(not available).She reordered and got exactly the same so gave in. However our complaint was extremely well handled and restored our good feelings for the hotel

Beautiful decor, great location, brilliant gym and pool area. The food was amazing, gorgeous breakfast and dinner!

The only thing that let it down was the room- the view wasn’t great and the bed was small meaning we didn’t sleep very well. it was also very loud and we could hear everything, might be because we were at the start of one of the corridors. this was the only bad thing for us, everything else was excellent.
