Period features, spacious, welcome wine and sweets plus bottle of water in the mini fridge. Bed was comfortable. Easy on street parking. Location was perfect for shows at the princess pavilion and only a short walk to the beaches on one side and the town centre on the other. Breakfast is preordered the night before.

Bathroom had no windows so smelt a little musty. The breakfast waitress did not point out the cereal or anything else that may have been available. At breakfast a glass of orange juice had already been poured which was a waste as we did not want any juice. Also yoghurts placed on table, i feel both would be better placed by the cereal to help yourself if you wanted. This meant the table was cramped for room.

Our room was spacious with comfortable beds and with views of the hotel garden at the front. The shower was lovely. The hotel was in a quiet road and positioned within a short walk of the sea front. The staff were extremely friendly and couldn't do enough for us. The breakfast was delicious, and was always served promptly, and there was a vegetarian option.

We were in the Osprey room and we had an extra door opening out onto a balcony. We thought the balcony was just ours, but it turned out to be shared between 3 rooms, which was a bit odd. The hotel doesn't have its own parking. Normally I imagine this wouldn't be an issue, as there is lots of space on the road outside. However we were staying during the Tall Ships event and the roads were very parked up. We eventually managed to park the car but it was in the next road. It would be nice if the hotel offered evening meals. The front garden is very pretty but we were worried about the very large carp in the very small pond!

Poltair has character and other than the basic comforts, it was quiet. The bed was comfortable for us and I know that varies from person to person. We had the en quite room with the bath, the rooms all bird names was something combe, I forget but it was a fair size and with a small bathroom. We also got given complimentary wine as it was valentines day which was an unexpected and nice touch and the hostess was polite. The staff serving breakfast were also polite attentive and we couldn't fault breakfast. Parking wasn't an issue but we did go in off peak times so getting a space on the road outside wasn't a worry.

Yes, there couple be a fresh lick of paint here and there but you can tell the build is old and for your money, the basic qualities were there and it was comfortable. The balconies attached to the top 3 rooms don't look very attractive but being open to the elements all year around, it didn't bother me.

Very nice breakfast, staff very friendly and efficient. Great location for the beach and there’s a lovely cafe up the road where we had lunch. Room was nice and bed was comfy.

The hotel is on the beach side - but more of a walk to the harbour and shops and where the majority of the restaurants and bars are. Only one cafe on the beach side. We had a family room and the double bed was quite small..! It was also a shame as the bedroom had a small balcony area but we couldn’t access it as the door was jammed shut/locked. The description said sea view.. which there is but it’s also partially obscured by buildings opposite.

Very nice staff and the room was very spacious with a nice comfortable bed and chairs to watch the ships at sea. My parents room next door was a little more cramped as in the eves but still ok. We appreciated the little touches and welcome things such as wine. The view from the window was beautiful and there was easy access to the beach area. Breakfast was varied. All in all a good trip

I should have realised that the nice view would be at the top but it was hard on my mum climbing the stairs. Their room didn't have curtains for the whole window so they were woken early. Our room was great but the window was draughty.. Luckily the curtains blocked it out or it would have been cold. Some of the decor and furnishings were a bit tired but I guess to be expected from an old property

The beds were extremely comfortable. If we could've brought them home we would have. Lovelyview overlooking the sea and added bonus of a balcony. Unfortunately the weather wasn't great so couldn't use it much.

The cooked breakfast was nicely cooked and staff were accommodating re doing my egg well cooked. Good choice for continental breakfast. The only thing I would say was the cooked breakfast was ok amount for small eaters but I feel maybe a more generous helping would be welcomed.

Lovely room at the top of the house with a small balcony that overlooked the sea. No lift, though, so you need to be ok with stairs. Comfy bed. Clean linen. Hot shower. Coffee/tea making facilities, and a small fridge. Breakfast was ample. Cooked fresh. Also fruit and cereals. Owners were lovely, and very welcoming. 😊

Nothing to dislike. Would just suggest a small curtain on the triangle window by the balcony door to keep the light out. 🙂

We were in the room called Seagull. It was spacious, with perfect amount of space for clothes storage and the view was simply excellent. There were some really nice touches too like a complimentary bottle of wine and a fridge with fresh milk in it for tea and coffee. The bathroom in our room was particularly nice, very good shower and bath. Breakfast was excellent, great quality food cooked to order and the dining room was really nice. Also, we thought the waiting/housekeeping staff were very efficient and friendly. It was overall a lovely stay and we would definitely recommend and like to return.

The bed was a tiny bit too soft and bouncy for our liking. The room was very bright too at night as there were a couple of small windows next to the balcony that didn't have curtains. Really minor details though which didn't let the place down as overall our stay was very good and of course everyone has different tastes when it comes to bed softness and light levels.

The view from the room was spectacular

didn’t have sufficient coffee sachets the remotes for lights were in drawer and didn’t find until morning of leaving ….. no lights in fridge ,coffee tea making area….. low head room in clothes hanging area….felt the dark great ceiling tended to lower the height of the room…..TV remote didn’t work properly and free view wasn’t tuned properly.

We had a lovely view of the sea from our room, with a shared balcony to the side. The shower was nice and hot, the beds comfy, there was a small bottle of wine on arrival which was a nice touch. Breakfast was preordered and was lovely. The staff were very charming and friendly. The guest house was a short walk from the beach and a slightly longer walk to town; both very accessible. There was street parking (maybe a carpark, we didn't see one)

The art work in the room was a bit odd. It was slippery on the front path when raining. A bit more signage was required in the bathroom as the shower wasn't turning on due to a seperate cord having been pulled.
