This hotel is a rare find indeed. From the welcome shown by the staff to the magnificent room with a view this was the perfect addition to our tour around Cornwall and Devon. The Driftwood is maybe best described as an Adult Hotel because I think it can only be appreciated by those persons requiring calmness and tranquility along with excellent food and wine. If we ever have the opportunity to stay here again I would certainly make the effort.

Driftwood has a superb location, perched on the hilltops overlooking the sea with a view out to Nare Head. The restaurant offers exceptionally good food both at dinner and breakfast. The staff were all friendly and helpful without being remote. We were offered a room upgrade on arrival and enjoyed splendid views, as did our original room choice. I would highly recommend it, particularly for a romantic break for couples or for foodies. There is also excellent walking and good proximity to local attractions like the Eden Project.

Driftwood is a beautiful and special hotel. It is in an amazing location with a superb restaurant and excellent attention to detail.We loved the laid back luxury and relaxed approach to providing excellent service. The walk to the hidden hut for lunch was fabulous and sitting on the terrace for breakfast was a treat as the view is just magic. The sea on one side and a patchwork of green fields on the other side… If possible Room 2 is amazing as it is a corner room with views in all directions complete with a gorgeous bath.

To make this beautiful hotel perfect it would be great to see a style revamp in some areas ..

Fantastic coastal position and very quiet. Tasteful fresh decor in communal rooms. Bed very comfortable and shower powerful. Super dining room and amazing food.

Lack of available power points for iPad and hairdryer despite having most expensive room. Had to unplug a reading lamp and use small portable shaving mirror from the bathroom in order to use the hairdryer as none close enough to dressing table mirror. Lighting rather dull.

Beautiful location, lovely hotel and room. Staff were very attentive and helpful, even bringing cushions down to us when we were sitting outside in the gardens. The beach is stunning. Stayed in a superior room with a view of the sea

The service at breakfast was quite slow and the poached eggs were runny but it didn't spoil the trip

The location is stunning, the owners and their staff were extremely approachable and friendly. The breakfasts and dinners were especially good. The hotel is an ideal base for a quiet holiday and excellent as a base for walking the coast path. We were so lucky to have glorious weather too. Thank you.

As the hotel experience exceeded our expectations, we have no areas which we did not like.

Breakfast good, but did wait an hour on our first morning for the food to arrive.

Stated they catered for Celiac but no gluten free biscuits with the pot of tea, placed ordinary biscuits on plate so at to ask if they were gluten free, which they were not. No gluten free Croissants or other pastries at breakfast , just informed there is toast! Evening meal both evenings over cooked meals and limited options on menu. Having to order pot of tea, no tea making facilities in bedroom.

The only thing that could have been better was the size of the helpings at breakfast and dinner . The food was delicious but there wasn’t enough of it . However the waiting staff quickly brought extra bacon when requested at breakfast and extra vegetables at dinner. I think the hotel should perhaps revise their portion control policy . Apart from that the food itself was excellent.

This was an incredibly relaxing stay. The staff were great. Breakfast choices were excellent and access directly to the beach was perfect. Staff seemed to work hard and were very personable. The setting is second to none.

There were a few inconsistencies eg milk ordered for morning turned up 3 out of 6 days. The bathroom would benefit from better lighting and storage but this did not spoil the stay at all.

Regulars at what was the Roseland House Hotel back in the 80s, we have wanted to return to the hotel in its new guise for a long time. It did not disappoint. Opened the room door to see the colour of the turquoise sea, and then straight down to the beach. Back up for a cream tea, which was a mistake as the scones were huge and we had booked quite an early dinner in the restaurant. Walked down the lane at night to the main beach under the starriest sky. Very glad that this little corner of the world is pretty much unchanged.
