The breakfast was excellent - very good quality bacon and sausages and very nicely cooked. The beds were comfortable, great shower and most of the staff were friendly, welcoming and happy to help.

There was some miscommunication between booking.com and the hotel, so that they didn't know we needed a room for 3. Thus there was a 45 minute delay in accessing our room as they had to set up a 3rd bed. There was also a problem with getting into the hotel at 10.30pm as all staff had gone home, and then we couldn't figure out how to open the back door to the hotel. Luckily our room had a separate entrance, and we were able to ring staff to get them to come and help.

The room was much larger than expected. We (including our dog) were welcomed by the manager. The ensuite was clean with a lovely large shower. Very comfortable bed, pillows and sheets.The garden outside had shady areas which was perfect for our dog given the extreme heat. Great location for what we needed and parking available. Oh, and an electric fan - brilliant!!

Unfortunately, they stopped serving food at 5.30pm but I knew this as I'd phoned the day before. Due to short staff they had to close the bar at 6pm but this was fine as there were plenty of takeaways and a Tesco express next door.

We received a very warm welcome at the Swan Inn and their customer service was good. We liked Forest Row and we found an excellent Thai restaurant there for our evening meal. The cooked breakfast at the Swan was very good. The room was comfortable and the bathroom facilities were excellent, very clean and with a superb shower facility.

Parking was limited due to customers at the bar. However it was easy to park when they had left. Breakfast seemed to be cooked to order, which meant there was quite a long wait for the food to arrive. However we weren't in a hurry so it didn't matter to us.

The staff were all really friendly and helpful. I was checking out before breakfast time and the manager agreed to make me a roll to take away. The manager also agreed to put some of my food items in the fridge as I was going on to an event after. I had dinner there and the food was delicious.

The room was very dusty and full of cobwebs. The bathroom sink was blocked and took ages to drain. There was a strange textured mark on the duvet cover, so I turned it around and then when I woke up the next day my nightdress was covered in the textured mark, which meant it must have been on the sheet too. The blinds were ill fitting and there was lighting on the building. This meant that my room was very bright, which disturbed my sleep.

The lady who appeared to be the manageress was extremely helpful, she was called Ola we think (apologies if we've spelt it wrong) but she was lovely. We both thought she was far above the level you would normally get in hotels. The rest of the staff too were very helpful, but she stood way above what we would have expected!

The evening meal was the only let down. Price was high and the food value was not great. I had the fish and chips anf although the chips were supposed to be special, they were not great. Fish was dry and the length of time it took to get served wasn't great either. This would have been the only criticism we would make.

Quiet room despite being above a pub. Good, comfy bed. Great bathroom, clean, and with a good size bath/shower and lovely thick fluffy towels. Breakfast was OK, but would have preferred more of a choice, and buffet style with a pot of coffee instead of from a machine, although accept this probably isn’t possible with so few guests. We avoided the evening meal as the menu wasn’t very extensive and looked a bit over priced. There was only one small sachet of milk in the bedroom which was a bit of a pain first thing in the morning but not the end of the world. Overall, perfectly adequate stay in a nicely furnished room. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming.

From the very first minute we arrived the staff made us very welcome. The standard of dinner on our first evening was excellent and our subsequent breakfasts were equally good. Our room was exceptionally comfortable and whilst the bathroom was very small everything was very clean and well presented. Our dog was also made very welcome. We will certainly use the hotel as a base again when next visiting family in the area.

The only recommendation we would make is that the lighting for the steps leading outside from the dining room be improved.

The management should be congratulated on the very high quality of the staff in all areas. This is particularly noticeable at a time when so many hospitality businesses are struggling to find and retain staff. At The Swan the staff are not only efficient and caring they also seem to be happy in their jobs.

The only small defect was that when we returned in the late afternoon for our second night we found that our room had not been serviced. It was not a great problem as the room was immaculately clean on the first night and we only had to make the bed. We mentioned when we went to dinner as we only needed fresh supplies of tea and the waitress made sure we were more than well supplied for our early morning cup of tea.

I particularly liked the friendly and helpful attitude of the staff. We loved the netflix and the amazing , comfy bed. The breakfast was delicious, we had a different breakfast each morning so I can say the quality was fantastic with each dish. this particular room is accessed through the side of the property which was great for us coming in later than closing time.

I would have loved a refill of coffe pods and tap water without having to ask for it. As we stayed 2 nights there wasn,t quite enough. Some people might find the low volume noise of the kitchen staff coming in around 7am in the morning disturbing. I reall cant think of anything else.

My visit was partly nostalgic ( I lived in Forest Row 80 years ago) and partly fact finding. The central location was therefore very useful. The service and attitude of all your staff was exemplary and the food at every meal was excellent. The chef should be congratulated.

My room was very good and clean with good facilities except that there was nowhere to sit except on the toilet seat. I spoke to a member of staff about this and they admitted it was a distinct deficiency and they would be looking to put it right as soon as possible.
