The breakfast was great and the location was ideal for the location of the event i was attending. The host was incredibly helpful and drove me to the event which was much appreciated.

Minor point - I would have liked brown sauce and orange juice with the breakfast. The bed was comfortable but the foam mattress was a bit too soft. I would have liked to be able to lock my room when I left it.

Julia was an excellent host and called to arrange logistics ahead of my arrival, as well as arranging a helpful welcome tour/food on arrival. The food was great and an unexpected plus. The property, room, and location were amazing, it was a nice change to suburban London and I would recommend to anyone considering a visit to the area to book this accommodation.

Julia is a very attentive host who couldn’t do enough during my stay - very hospitable! Breakfast was great, poached eggs on toast w/ bacon was a great way to start the day. The location is also great, less than 30 mins to Gatwick Apt. Would recommend this place.

Julia was very gracious and helpful and went beyond usual parameters of a hotelier. She made me feel at home, which I very much appreciated.

Better explanation of how the shower worked would have been good. I mis-duplicated her instructions so did it wrong and the cold water spray was unexpected.

I was made to feel very welcome and every effort was made to help me out with transport to and from the station although I did use taxis when possible. I would not usually need to book accommodation in the area - this is because of covid rules affecting the care home I come to visit. I shall look forward to booking at South Lodge again if this is still necessary.

A chair in the room would be good but space is limited by the layout. A rail (or hooks) for towels over the (not en suite) bathroom door would be helpful and the door really does need easing... it's snagging on the floor and makes a bit of a noise.

The owner was beyond accommodating more than willing to pick up from the train station...offered to cook meals etc....Truly made a concerted effort to make the short stay as pleasant as possible.... comfortable and very "homey" environment...

Price was a bit on the high side but that is par for the course in the London and surrounding urban area.....

The house and settings were lovely. The facilities were modern and very tasteful. The garden and pergola was somewhere peaceful to sit. Very close to the hospital. Julia was the perfect host. Breakfast was delicious.

Breakfast was on time it was hot plenty of it Well presented Was able to take my time never felt rushed

Truthfully I enjoyed my stay Everything was clean and tidy Pleasant surroundings huge garden was able to sit and read a book and relax

charming ‘period’ property with very clean and cared for modern decor . lovely to sit outside my room in the peaceful garden for breakfast

Julie is an exceptional host. The room looks out to the garden and was just what I'd expected from booking, a lovely warm and welcoming home stay.
