A lovely hotel. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with a huge bathroom with bath and walk-in shower. The host was very accommodating and the restaurant was fabulous for both dinner in the evening and breakfast, with vegetarian and vegan options available. The waiting staff were wonderful and the chef, who we met in the morning was friendly too. We really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely stay at The Speyside Hotel again.

The corridor system was a bit of a maze to find our room when we first arrived, but that added to the charm :)

Great hotel! Fantastic staff - we had a good laught with Marc who checked us in, served us in the restaurant and bar and checked us out. He and his wife Lucy are fantastic people to run the hotel. The food was very good, we did not expect that high ambition in the kitchen. The restaurant was also buzy with guests from other hotels so do not forget to secure a table in the restaurant in advance. To sit in the bar before bedtime in front of the open fire with a local whisky, Glen Allache, as Marc recommended us is a great memory we will keep. Both the room and the bathroom were spacious, clean and nicely furnished and we slept like babies. We will definitely come back!

Everything was tiptop!

We were greeted with a big smile. Mark was very professional and friendly. We were given an upgrade free of charge, which was a lovely gesture. The suite was warm, clean, and comfortable. The hotel was beautiful and very welcoming. I would definitely recommend and would love to rtn. In a perfect location close to walking forest trails and close to the village.

The breakfast room was very cold. Maybe a little warmer in the winter months would be nice. Add a few oil radiators and close the doors. As it was really cold .. It's not nice sitting in ur puffer coat to eat breakfast

Great location and a beautiful building. Very clean, friendly welcome on arrival from Mark and a beautiful room. Food in the restaurant was fantastic and a wonderful choice for breakfast and evening meal, well done Lucy all freshley prepared to order and the staff were very pleasant. We would highly recommend this hotel. Thanks to Mark, Lucy and a great team of staff.

The hotel is in the perfect location for whiskey trail and exploring the highlands. The room and en-suite bathroom were huge & kept in a clean tidy condition throughout our stay. There’s a good selection of drinks at the bar which is comfortable to sit and have a drink. Netflix in the room is a plus! The hotel is dog friendly which is a major plus for us. The food was of a good quality.

could use a full length mirror on the room. also a mirror near the table would be good for those of us that need to pile on the make up. But really these are little things. There needs to be some upgrades made to the hotel decor, carpet was lifting at places & a wall in the corridor needs plastered. you need to order breakfast the night before which isn’t our preference

A nice, relaxed, family-run hotel with very pleasant staff. The location is good and there is plenty of parking. Our room was spacious, with a comfortable super king bed. We got a friendly welcome and check-in was quick and easy. The food was excellent - both dinner and breakfast - and we were impressed.

Our shower was faulty - either freezing cold or suddenly scalding - so couldn't be used. We only discovered this in the morning so weren't able to report it earlier. I know that hospitality has been really hard hit by recent events but we were a bit disappointed that we only got an apology and a 'thank you for telling us'. A small goodwill gesture would have gone a long way.

We had an awesome stay here! A group of 8 men on a whisky trail. From pre-dinner at the fireplace to a great breakfast the next day everything was perfect! Mark and the team did a great job. Food was delicious (great daily menu, very well cooked) and beer and wine paired well. We also had a selection of whisky afterwards. The rooms are kind of old-fashioned but very cozy, there's a fireplace in the bar area and old leather chairs that could probably tell some stories - in my opinion you can't have a better location when you visit scotland. If we would have stayed longer we probably could have played a nice round of golf or go hiking with some great views (we spoke with some other guests about it and Mark was also able to help with reservations and tips for good routes). We finished our visit with a great scottish breakfast and if we ever come back to that area we will definitely be staying here.

Our triple room was spacious with a double and a single bed; the single bed was located in a separate area of the room which afforded some privacy. Breakfast was ample and cooked to order. We also booked for dinner at the hotel restaurant and had an excellent meal. The hotel is close to the centre of Grantown-on-Spey but located in a quiet and private setting away from traffic. Staff were helpful and friendly.

Nothing we didn't like

Lovely stuff, very caring. Superb breakfast, excellent location and warm fireplace in the bar to warm up after day out :) I guess our dog was also happy with all the biscuits he got.

At the check-in it started with a warm welcome and at the check-out it felt like leaving good friends.... In the meantime we had a perfect holiday in a beautiful, quiet room with a nice garden view, excellent breakfast, delicious dinner and relaxing evenings in a familiar atmosphere in the bar. Thanks a lot to Mark and Lucy for making us feel at home.
