Choice of breakfast great Majority of staff lovely and professional Room size and cleanliness good General vibe of hotel lovely

Breakfasts…hot full breakfast on 2nd day not hot. All tepid, thankfully plates were hot. 2nd dinner on our 3rd night, lovely tasting roast however meat, parsnip, Yorkshire and potatoes delivered around 4 mins before vegetables. We had to start as again ingredients only tepid. Dessert menu offered but not bought - staff busy at larger tables so after ten mins we decided to go without. It would be good if condiments offered prior to any meals being delivered to minimise delays and foods going colder. On 3rd day left towels on floor and advised reception new needed. On return to room after full day walking found room tidied along with old wet towels folded back onto rails! This was very disappointing ☺️ issue resolved after visit to reception.

The Pier House has recently been renovated and so everything is new. It is located at right at the end of Charlestown harbour so you can enjoy breakfast with the view of the sea rolling in. The staff is very friendly. We were in room 7 which has a little staircase up leading to the bedroom. The room has a coffee machine, stocked bar fridge, a desk with lamp, wardrobe and bedside tables with lamps and a radio. The bathroom has Elemis products. There is a la carte breakfast as well as continental buffet for you to enjoy. There is a bar where the restaurant is and turns into a lively social area in the evenings and weekends. The noise CANNOT be heard in the rooms.

The shower does splash out of the glassed area and so can be a little wet on the floor after a shower (even with the bathmat). Our room overlooked the top/roof of the kitchen area so there was some noise from the exhaust but this was not a big issue.

Location was great the hotel was in prime position !! The parking was great and the reception team were fantastic!! Really friendly and welcoming from the moment we arrived!! Room had a few issues and were sorted and met all of our expectations even assistance with the move to a new room no trouble at all, I will say I would request a room as not all are the same!!the food from breakfast to evening meals were fab and the choice was excellent … fresh and fab presentation the hotel was clean and all to a high standard with every space a delight to be in!! From top rated complimentary dry robes for your swim to top rated toiletries to bath robes to a fridge with a great mix of drinks and snacks … even pillow spray for a good nights sleep!!

Having to request rooms as some were small and not great access and space for all your luggage … but the room we were moved to was fabulous!!

Lots of high end products in room but for just one night they’re probably not so necessary. Very Comfortable bed which was the best. Lovely staff. Nice food. Great view from tables outside hotel on their terrace. Perfect atmosphere. Available free parking up the road. Charlestown hasn’t really changed. Still cute and has a feel of being preserved now as a living museum so at least it hasn’t been redeveloped in an unsympathetic way.

Room 13 was on the dark side for my preference with small window looking out to a tree in next door neighbours garden. For one night it was fine but a longer stay might have begun to feel oppressive especially if weather was bad and you wanted to relax in the room. However, I’m sure the rooms at front of hotel would be much better as you would get more light.

It is beautiful location and lovely designed place. We can see thoughts and efforts to restore it. Bed us confy, although I can't imagine anyone to use a duvet tin hot summer. Unfortunately we have to drop it in the floor.

Our room N5 located next to the kitchen's ventilation pipes and the noise of it really bothers especially at night. The other inconvenience is the absence of air conditioner. Thanks goodness it was cooler night then. Otherwise It won't not be possible to sleep in the room with only tiny window to be open. Definitely need something to be done in this room for comfortable sleep.

This Hotel is exceptionally well positioned right by the harbour in Charlestown. We booked a superior room with a sea view. Very clean with a comfortable bed and lovely sheets. The room had a large shower room with plenty of shelving. The staff were very well trained, friendly and accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble. Charlestown is quite small but has a lot going on with bars, cafes and restaurants close by. There is even a couple of beaches in easy walking distance. We had a few drinks outside and then dined in the restaurant which we enjoyed. Great atmosphere and wonderful decor. We highly recommend this venue.

This is an old and characterful building. There are quite a lot of steps to maneuver. The room we stayed in may not be suitable for people with mobility issues. However, we loved it and would definitely stay again. Although there is no parking at the hotel there is a large car park just a couple of minutes walk away or you can park in the carpark of their sister hotel up the road. Again, not a problem.

The newly (open a week) refurbished is gorgeous. The room was stocked full of so many amazing touches. We particularly loved the branded dry robes. They kept us very dry at the Eden Project. You can really tell a lot of love went into the refurb and our stay was wonderful.

The evening menu for vegetarians could be better. There were three different feta salad options but no hot vegetarian main options. I opted for two starter options instead with the ask they came out at the same time as my husbands main but alas they came out as starters so that was a shame. Would have liked to have seen a hot main option.

The staff were very friendly and helpful especially the front of desk staff and the restaurant staff even though it was very busy the evening that I had dinner there. The waitress listened to what I asked for and my meal was delicious. The waitresses/ waiters at breakfast were very friendly and helpful. My room was very comfortable.

It was a bit of a trek from the station to the hotel so I was glad that I got a taxi. It took me a while to get connected to the wifi in the area but one of the waitresses helped me sort it out.

The Hotel has been recently renovated and is beautiful. Lots of attention to detail and clever use of space in the bedrooms. Breakfast was amazing, the staff were all lovely and the food was great. Stunning location. Would definitely come back.

The dinner service was very slow, and it was a bit frustrating that some of the staff were uncertain when it came to my gluten allergy. I think this was probably all teething problems as they have recently reopened. Our harbour view room was lovely, but definitely more of a harbour glimpse at the side of the hotel.
