The newly (open a week) refurbished is gorgeous. The room was stocked full of so many amazing touches. We particularly loved the branded dry robes. They kept us very dry at the Eden Project. You can really tell a lot of love went into the refurb and our stay was wonderful.
The evening menu for vegetarians could be better. There were three different feta salad options but no hot vegetarian main options. I opted for two starter options instead with the ask they came out at the same time as my husbands main but alas they came out as starters so that was a shame. Would have liked to have seen a hot main option.

The Hotel has been recently renovated and is beautiful. Lots of attention to detail and clever use of space in the bedrooms. Breakfast was amazing, the staff were all lovely and the food was great. Stunning location. Would definitely come back.
The dinner service was very slow, and it was a bit frustrating that some of the staff were uncertain when it came to my gluten allergy. I think this was probably all teething problems as they have recently reopened. Our harbour view room was lovely, but definitely more of a harbour glimpse at the side of the hotel.

The little touches in the room such as dry robes, postcard with stamp, Elemis products in bathroom, luxury tea and coffee facilities, radio, luxury bedlinen etc
The breakfast let the stay down. If it hadn’t been included in the price and I had paid for it I would be upset. The food took a long time to come out and was poor quality. Has the potential to be really nice but was below average. The room and facilities set the expectations high.

Very relaxed visit, very friendly helpful staff.
Breakfast area is covered in flies, crawling over everything, all over the croissants which are uncovered. There are domes covering the cheese/ham, but there were flies underneath it. There are that many flies that you can't eat your food without them crawling all over the table, I couldn't stomach it. I've been to the Pier House last year and it was the same then, so it is not a one-off. I think they need to put the breakfast goods in a self-service fridge to deter the flies, and perhaps put up one or two of those fly zapping machines! This was the only issue, everything else was absolutely great.

Location exceptional! Opposite the tall ship & harbour 3 minutes walk to a delightful cove, 5 minutes to a pebbles beach, art galleries small quaint shops all within easy reach. What is there not to like!
Bathroom not enough space for your own toiletries, easily rectified with another shelf, but only a tiny criticism!

The bed was so comfy The area beautiful Food great
Our friends had a room also, in room 5. Which sadly wasn’t great. The extractor fan from the kitchen, was on all night and very loud. Plus window had to be wedged open with a towel. But apart from that, they loved the staff and cleanliness of property

The hotel is in a great location overlooking Charlestown harbour. Vehicle access is a real pain, as the hotel stands right by the sea with a dead ending road in front of it with restricted parking. However it does have private parking up the road, but this parking is on the most uneven, bumpy surface I’ve ever seen in a car park. It’s just about passable! We were so lucky to be upgraded to a sea view room, which was split levelled. Our bed was large and comfy, there was a window seat overlooking the sea and a free standing bath in our en-suite. So not too shabby!!! The staff were superb; they smiled lots, were always keen to help, and were always attentive. We had a smashing fish and chip meal here and a lovely cooked breakfast. it was just a shame that the evening menu seemed to be a standard in so many St Austell owned establishments. We really enjoyed our stay here. It’s a lovely hotel with a great staff.
Parking was grim, and we did find that as it was brewery owned the menu was exactly the same as another hostelry nearby and also identical to the place we stayed in at Dartmouth. A bit like big brother!!

Room was really nice, had a kind of mezzanine level, where another two beds and the bathroom was located. Breakfast was nice, although the sausages could be of a better quality, they were kind of like frankfurter-like. Location was excellent, harbour right outside. Cupboard on the 1st floor has irons and ironing boards which came in really handy. Staff were really lovely and friendly.
The bar next door had a live band on the saturday night, which was really rather loud and kept us awake. Not the fault of the hotel but was rather annoying.

Hotel is very nice and comfortable - very good location. Food was very good and staff very friendly,
I turned the lever on to have a shower the evening we arrived and the covering/lever/temperature control fell off. We tried for a long time to fix it in the evening and morning and then reported it after breakfast (it was written in a book). When we returned after a day out it hadnt been fixed and the handyman/plumber had gone home. I took the pieces to the front desk and then a plumber was called. We have had the same covering/level/temperature control at home for 20 years so we are familiar with it.

best location in Charlestown - views over the harbour and beach - a great terrace to have a drink and a bit to eat. Room was big! Everything we needed in it and an amazing breakfast!
we got there earlier than check-in to secure a car park space - for visitors arriving later there was literally nowhere to park within several miles of the property so advise you get a space early!!
