Booked a a last minute night away. Easy to get parked. Clean and comfortable room. Food was lovely as were the local people that we met. Some nice walks nearby. We will definitely return.

The lad who helped us check in. Was warm and friendly and went the extra mile to help us. Offered to get our case from the car.. we asked for help getting a taxi. He tried and couldn't get 1. But he didn't stop trying until he succeeded. Really nice lad. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable.

There was a breeze coming from the bedroom window even though it was closed. The lady was a little abrupt when we checked out. Too busy talking to a colleague for me to mention the breeze

A superb stay. The room was very comfortable, ample hot water for bath/showers and the food for breakfast and evening meals was excellent. All staff were very friendly, professional and we were made very welcome by the locals as well. There was plenty of parking, good wifi connection and the location is ideal for exploring the local area.

I liked the customer service, something that is rare these days....I went down the stairs in a hurry at breakfast a day I was going to just leave for work. The lady said to me "I will make you a bacon butty and wrap it in tinfoil for you", this type of thing is so rare these days it retored my faith in customer service. Also my meal was excellent, knocks spots of of travel lodge meals . Well done and thanks you.

There was nothing we didn’t like about it and we will definitely be going back. Perfect place to stay if visiting Scarborough, Whitby etc

great location. very comfortable rooms and lovely breakfast. excellent evening meal eaten in the bar. we enjoyed hearing about the history of the pub.

Only downside was that the staff closed the bar and left early both nights, and even on a Friday evening. So when we returned from a night at the theatre in Scarborough at around 10.15pm we were unable to have a night cap with our friends in the bar. it wasn’t the end of the world but it did put a bit of a dampener on the evening.

The room was clean and comfortable. The food was exceptional and the staff were brilliant. We felt very comfortable and at home . friendly and warm atmosphere. Thank you for a wonderful break. We will certainly return.

The breakfast was very good and with plenty of choices I asked for a ground floor room but on arrival I had a upstairs bedroom .It was changed after the first night so all was good

Everything was more than expected. Location was absolutely ideal and very convenient for trips to Scarborough etc to the south and Whitby to the north, either by car or bus. The room was excellent, spacious and the bed was very comfortable. Foodwise, everything was freshly cooked to a high standard whether it be breakfast or dinner. The owner, Tony, his wife and staff, especially Dawn, were outstanding. We had a fantastic rapport with them all and other guests that were staying at the same time. Outstanding.!!!

A lovely place to stay, very friendly staff. Clean and comfortable. Would definitely return. When I first booked I booked a double room, a friend was then joining us on the trip, having rang the Blacksmith Arms the gentleman (apologises I didn't catch a name) went above and beyond to fulfill my request.
