When we booked, this place was the same price as the premier inn in the city centre, however, the Hurst Dene has more to offer IMO. It's in a better location with excellent pubs and places to eat, and not being in the city centre, it's quieter. The kitchen facilities (in the Large Studio) meant we could make some of our own food, keeping costs down a little. The bed was very comfortable.

It was difficult to air the ensuite fully without the door and living area windows being opened. The toilet needed to be flushed twice. The shower cubicle was quite narrow - it was tricky not knocking the handle with the potential of burning yourself.

I had travelled for an event in the city centre, all I really needed was a bed, Kettle and a loo/shower, Very impressed to find a full kitchen and could have prepared food had I needed too. Perfectly clean and serviceable, Pleasant staff. Everything I needed for an overnight stay and more.

There was nothing I didn't outrightly didn't like but; Available WIFI, A Light switch and plug socket/charging point by the bed would have both been helpful. While clean and in prefect working order I found the bathroom extremely small and I struggled to get through the shower doors without banging against them. A larger person than me may have difficulties getting in and out.

The location is excellent - easy to walk to Uplands, parks, into town and the beach. We loved our rooms - the kitchen was well stocked with everything you need for self catering. There was complimentary tea, coffee, biscuits etc. A good shower with soap, shampoo and loo rolls provided. The loft sitting room was amazing!

The double bed was a bit narrow but it wasn’t really a problem.

We asked for an early check in which was confirmed with no problems whatsoever. The room was great, a small apartment really. Double bedroom with a very comfy bed, my best night's sleep in years, really! Cosy living room with a sea view, you could see The Mumbles lighthouse. Full size and fully equipped kitchen with a dining table and four chairs. A clean, smart and very modern bathroom. All in all a great place to stay. i wouldn't hesitate to book here again, a wonderful experience.

Superb location and comfy rooms. Only several minutes' walk distance to KFC, Tesco Express, etc. The kitchen makes it easy to whip up a quick and simple breakfast. The staff at the location is nice and welcoming, quickly helps us check in earlier than expected.

Shower place is rather small. Not having a place to hang things in the bathroom, as the towel ring is busted.

When I first arrived here I was placed in a very small upstairs room (literally 8'X10'). I went downstairs to formally check in. The General Manager, a lovely gentleman by the name of Winston, engaged me in pleasant conversation. When he found out I was in Wales for medical treatment, and noticed my apparent age (I'm 72) he said, "Let's find you a bigger room." I was ushered into a room next door (ground floor), with a full kitchen and appliances and a much larger bed- all for the same price! This act of kindness went far beyond anything I was expecting. The staff are sincerely friendly and helpful (I'm talking about you, Kath!) On my next visit to this country I plan on staying here again, hopefully in the same room.

There was nothing I haven't liked about my stay. This was my first trip outside the United States, and I'm grateful to have found this place and these people.

Perfect location to stay for a concert at singleton park ,15 min walk to venue, parking was a bonus, clean and tidy and comfortable beds ,nice view of sea too ,2 mins walk to shops (tescos ,boots …etc )and plenty of places to eat (kfc,sw bk)plus plenty of other , 3 decent pubs and late night bar /disco, perfect for our needs

The staff were lovely friendly and very helpful. We had a small noise issue which the staff went over and above to rectify. The weather was hot and muggy the number of windows allowed a good breeze with the curtains closed. WiFi was good as was the phone signal (as someone who lived in Swansea for a few years the phone signal can be terrible in some older properties).

Kitchenette was ideal for us as bodybuilders on a strict meal plan and it had everything we needed

No full length mirror in the apartment, only a small mirror in the bathroom which was difficult to do hair and makeup and check your outfit. Room would have benefitted from a fan too. The tv was on the blink and kept switching itself on in the middle of the night which we reported on check out.

The Uplands location is brilliantly convenient! There are so many places to eat and drink round the corner. And I went swimming down the Gower every day. The best thing about my room (apart from the very comfy bed!) was the beautiful view out over the Mumbles. I know the area very well, so I knew exactly where Uplands lay in relation to the sea. You need a car, and it's well worth travelling to find the best Gower beaches for a swim. (Try Caswell Bay for surf and swim - about 20mins drive) The room (I booked a double through Booking.com) had an ensuite, and every thing I needed. It was absolutely perfect for me - simple and very clean, with a kettle and tea making facilities . I loved my little retreat, and I would definitely use the Hurst Dene again.

if I had come with a partner, I might have found the room rather snug!
