Hilton Tucson East

The hotel had an amazing scent as you walked in the front doors. The hotel is very clean as well as the rooms. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We also liked that there was a 24 convenience store available. The beds were very comfortable as well as the pillows. The location was close to everything we needed for our trip and parking was easy to find. There is also a Culvers fast food restaurant in the parking lot, which made it easy to grab something quick to eat.

Our air conditioning unit woke us up several times the first night, it made loud cracking and popping noises. I went to the front desk the next morning and they sent the mechanical engineer to our room to look at it. Later that night when we got back to our room the a/c was still making the same noise. I called the front desk and they moved us to another room. As soon as we settled into our new room the a/c made the same noises but louder than the previous room. We had to switch to another room. We were exhausted from the long day and the last thing you want to do is change rooms several times. The other thing that was bothersome was we could not locate any vending machines for water. We had to use the convenience store and it was VERY expensive.

The hotel and room were nicely appointed and clean.The location was in a safe and secure neighborhood. The East side of Tucson was close to my destination (FYI-close to Mount Lemon- hiking and the East side of Saguaro National Park, and historic downtown and museums are a 15-20 minute drive.)There are also numerous restaurants (fast food, chain, and family owned). Shopping galore. It was very quiet at night. The pool area is beautiful. Some rooms have a Mountain View. The staff was welcoming, helpful and professional.

The restroom didn’t have a fan. Some guests may not like not having a microwave. The rooms are cleaner because of no food preparation.

Beautiful lobby, elevator, and friendly staff. Even though we didn’t use the pool area, it was very nice, especially after the hot sun went down in the evening.

We didn’t like the room service by request. A few nights we had to go to the front desk to get a set of clean towels. I usually make the beds each morning to signal to housekeepers we didn’t need sheets changed, but we would have appreciated towel and garbage service each day.

I liked the design around an open atrium. Our room was huge and had a gorgeous mountain view. We liked that it was right on the bike/walking trail. The pool was basic but really nice to have.

There is really not much within easy walking distance, which is more of a general urban planning/America issue than anything to do with Hilton. The hotel restaurant and bar is wildly expensive for Tucson, but without a car we didn't have any other reasonable options for breakfast or a nightcap - it takes 15 minutes to walk to the closest shopping center! We chose this location because it was convenient to family living nearby who ferried us around for events, but I would not recommend this hotel if you do not have your own transportation.

The staff was outstanding, exceptionally friendly, and helpful. They recommended terrific restaurants, remembered our names, and seemed genuinely happy to be working there. The location was convenient and it seemed easy to get everywhere we wanted to go. The bed was very comfortable, the view was beautiful, and overall it was a terrific stay. The woman at the front desk we interacted with the most had worked there for 20 years or something. She’s a real asset for the company!

The only thing - and I mean the only thing - that wasn’t top-notch about the hotel was the light in the bathroom that could not be turned off. As a person with crippling insomnia, I can say it was a real bummer.

The hotel could use some updates. The elevators were slow, noisy, and bumpy. The sink in my bathroom leaked and the tub had a hard time draining.

Beds were comfortable. Room was clean. Somewhat noisy from the floor above. I was on the 4th floor.

Pool sign says the pool was open until 11:00 pm, however we were asked to vacate at 10:00 as the pool was closing. I'd like to see a "free" continental breakfast for all registered guests.

Breakfast selection was great.

My experience at the bar was not the best. I definitely had higher expectations in regards to bartending knowledge when a customer asks for a Cosmopolitan and the bartender responds "I have no clue" then maybe bartending is not for them.

Breakfast was very good and a pretty nice variety. Price was $15 for a Continental, but it was a little more than just a Continental, so it was probably pretty appropriate.

Lovely hotel, liked that although no microwave in room there were 2 microwaves in the ice room. Lovely pool area, just shaded by hotel for most of the day. Liked the restaurant across the car-park, Culvers which was good value.

Small niggle, the pool area was in shade by early afternoon.
