The rooms were large and clean. The restaurant located on the property was nice.

Maintenance: The door lock to my room often did not open on the first try, several attempts were required. The deadbolt lock got stuck in the open position when I was leaving my room and I had to call maintenance. Communication: I checked in late on my arrival and had to find security to get into my room. I was not told breakfast came with my room and that it was only available from 7:00 - 10:00. When I went to the front desk the first morning after my arrival, I was informed about breakfast but unfortunately had just missed it.

This charming hacienda style place is a hidden diamond in the desert. Great value for a resort style facility that offers lots of amenities including a gorgeous pool and spa. It is conveniently located. It has a fabulous onsite restaurant. Although built in 1936, the entire facility is upgraded. Well maintained site. The rooms are clean and quiet. I would highly recommend Lodge on the Desert to any of my friends or family. We had a wonderful time and definitely will stay there again.

Although free coffee is available at the onsite restaurant, we didn't like that there wasn't a coffee pot in the room. Also didn't like that there was only one arm chair for evening TV watching. Although beautiful, the pool was too cold for comfortable swimming.

It’s a beautiful iconic property with gardens, comfy rooms, beds and linens. Cielos is a true jewel. Ask for Ben as your server and you won’t be disappointed.

Don’t get why properties have signage to conserve and hang up your towels and then they change them out anyway. Loved the fluffy beautiful towels, but I didn’t need new ones every day. Not crazy about the steeped coffee in the rooms and had to ask for more after the second day of our stay. Staff was super quick to get us more!

No room available first night upon arrival, despite reconfirming with hotel directly and Booking.com after amending reservation to add that night. Front desk sprang into action, finding a nearby alternate. Loved the next night there, the pool and spa, the cactus garden grounds, great dinner at restaurant, wonderful breakfast included. Such a taste of old Tucson, view of the mountains. Comfortable bed in charming king Casita room.

Loved the original style room, fireplace would be neat, but perhaps not as tucked away feeling as the room we chose.

Love the grounds, they were beautiful and felt safe and pleasant, loved the pool and the restaurant. The lobby is warm and inviting and the staff were all very friendly. Food at Cielos was very good - even the included breakfast was delicious! Loved that we could sit outside in the sun, the shade, covered with heaters, inside at the restaurant side or bar side! Great choices for seating preferences. Menu was a bit limited, but everything we tried was excellent. Rooms are cozy with a fireplace! We loved the fireplace and used it several times! Room was clean and comfortable.

Decor is a little dark for my taste, but the room was clean and comfortable.

Breakfast was absolutely wonderful as was all the staff in the dining room, front desk and grounds. Facility was gorgeous and we really loved the historical aspect of the place.

The main disappointment for us was the apparent lack of regard for the environment. No recycling bins and there also appeared to be no recycling going on at all. We saw many of the the trash bins/bags filled with recyclable products. There also should have been covers for the hot tub and pool. Additionally a 2nd hot tub would have been nice as the same people seemed to be occupying it constantly and for hours at a time.’

Centrally located, great “Old Pueblo” vibe. Fabulous breakfast. Very clean, nicely appointed rooms, great environmental system. My room had a little fridge which I found very convenient. Great parking availability. Lovely grounds.

One of the legs of the bedside table was wonky. I used the cardboard soap wrapper to prop up the wonky leg, The bedside light had been unplugged forcing me to scrounge around on the floor to plug it in. On on the first night I noted the clean bath towel in the stack was still damp from being laundered. I’d like to see better quality in room coffee service.

Centrally located, while an older property, very well maintained, employees were unilaterally wonderful, front desk, maintenance, restaurant, rooms were large and well appointed. Parking was spacious and complimentary. We ate at the restaurant, Cielos, three times, my birthday dinner, complementary breakfast and lunch before we headed back to Phoenix. Excellent. Some reviews were not positive on the breakfast, it is your usual breakfast buffet. Nothing out of the ordinary but well done. No complaints.

Our door lock was very difficult. It would not open without my 6’2”, 200 # brut putting all his might behind it! We did share with the front desk who made note of it. I couldn’t have opened it.

We’re return customers. We like the architecture, the restaurant, the front desk and restaurant staff. It’s clean, quiet, and a great location. The room was quite large and we liked the shower stall. We also liked the kettle for coffee/tea.

Our room had a funny odor—a little like a hot tub whose chemicals are imbalanced (that happened at an airbnb once). It feels a little worn down and dated.

The breakfast buffet is truly exceptional! Mixed fruit--watermelon, honeydew, cantaloupe, blueberries, raspberries, and strawberries. Granola, cream of wheat, and oatmeal with brown sugar, raisins and dried cranberries were available all the time. Crisp bacon, super sausage, real scrambled eggs (not baked), and several variations on potatoes were all served nice and hot. More than we had anticipated. The room itself was very quiet with an old pueblo design.
