Lack of A/C in rooms, though the weather was near-perfect. A hotel should always air conditioning.

Excellent breakfast delivered to room. Perfect location in Carmel By the Sea. Staff were outstanding and could not do enough to help. Room was clean and comfortable. Easy access to route 1 with great views and hiking. Close to beach and many restaurants in town.

Courtyard was right outside of room so could get noisy in evening with dinner but that is unavoidable, I think. Cost of dinner (tasting menu > $200 /person) and lack of options (as far as I know). No air conditioning, but certainly didn't need it during our trip. Could be a problem if there was an unusual heat wave.

The French Villa feel was exceptional! Staff was very friendly and professional. The overall experience was superb!

We were forced to move from one room to another room for the second night when that obviously could have been avoided. Both rooms were garden facing King Deluxe.

Ambience, decor, location, excellent breakfast and vast wine collection. Plus easy access to beach and friendly staff.

A little too small for our taste so at times felt crowded.

The property is quaint—old world charm and beautiful furnishings. The location is fantastic, and we spent our days walking through Carmel and exploring the many shops and restaurants. Room service breakfast was a treat every morning.

We loved everything about our stay, although I might be concerned about staying in the summer because the hotel does not have air conditioning.

great location, very clean, good natural light in the room ,coffee Nespresso machine in room, friendly concierge lady and welcoming drink..

our room was on the smaller side, window coverings were slightly torn, heating system ( the heater) created lots of noise..,breakfast was tasty and well presented but pretty basic , more savory choices would be great..also morning breakfast coffee could be stronger..

I loved the atmosphere and the spirit of the place. Utter dedication to the comfort and pampering of their guests: complementary snacks in room, endless clean towels, fine bed linens, friendly and helpful staff, privacy, valet parking, fresh flowers in our room, a note to wish us happy anniversary...I could go on...and no extra charges for any of the above.

There was a bit of noise in our room from other guests enjoying the courtyard, but this was over by the time we went to bed, and I am only mentioning it for the sake of filling this box.

Ryan, he was helpful to my wife and I on several occasions. He offered us fresh lemonade after we came in from a 7 mile walk. He remembered where we were from. A true asset to your facility.

I would prefer a regular bottled water to quench thirst. Sparkling water is nice, but sometimes normal water goes down better. No offense, but the Carmel tap seemed to have a funky flavor.
