The property was located right next to the beach and had bonfire pits available for hotel guest to use, also the hotel itself was beautiful. The main pool had a restaurant and pool was kept at great temperature. Aside from restaurant at main pool there is two additional restaurant in the resort food is deben but the views are amazing. They give you a small bag of duck food too feed the animals my son found turtles ducks and fishes. They have bikes and boat rentals available at a cost.

I didn’t appreciate that the additional fees that weren’t disclosed in the listed Parking per day cost $42 you also get charged 6% surcharge on food purchases “something about keeping minimum wage up for there employees” they also charge you a resort amenities fees $39 per day and a lot of other fees taxes it was just dumbfounding.

This is great for family vacations. It has multiple pools so it never felt crowded. The breakfast at Barefoot on the Beach was terrific. Although we did not take advantage of it, I saw other families enjoying the bonfire pits on the sand at the bay. We definitely intend to do that on our next visit. The staff was very friendly - front desk; cleaning; maintenance; restaurant - everyone said hello and was accommodating.

The rooms themselves are a bit rundown. I imagine they have a lot of room turnover, so it could probably use a more regular refreshing - replace the mattresses; new sheets; paint, etc.

The most incredible stay. Staff was very helpful, and the room was clean, comfortable, and spacious. There were 5 different pool areas that were not too busy, and they had a separate hot tub by some pools. There were fireplaces by some pools for the evening or places to make your own fire around the outside of the resort on the beach. There were games like table tennis and others. There were plenty of bars and food options, and the location was great, being near Dan Diego Zoo and Sea World. The stay really felt like we were in paradise with the lake running through the resort and the trees whilst being surrounded by the ocean. Highly recommended and would certainly come back again

Great location to be able to dip into busy downtown San Diego but then come back and relax away from the noise. Kids loved the pools and beach just outside the room. The food at the hotel eateries was very good as well. Overall great for families.

My only issue was the parking. Each room is given a spot however there are no traditional parking guidelines. So a guest from another room (as in my case) parked across my spot and theirs on several nights. The hotel did allow me to park somewhere else and were very accommodating, but I'd get those parking guidelines painted to avoid issues like this in the future with other guests.

beautiful grounds

lack of attention to detail ( no toilet paper in the hotel lobby bathroom) and customer service by a couple staff ( trying to check in there was a receptionist who was too busy with other work and didn’t care to greet me or acknowledge me in any way. her colleague then came to check me in and was very pleasant and helpful) could have been better. We also had to kill 4 spiders we found in the room. they didn’t clean the room which would have been ok but someone could have proactively checked to see if we needed any towels or other room supplies. The cost of this room per night (close to $400) would have dictated better service from everyone.

We loved the Couples Massage at the spa. So amazing. Everyone who worked at the resort was gracious and they sent us a bottle of champagne for our anniversary.

The walls connecting other rooms are very thin. We had a young family next to us where the parents were intoxicated and yelling late into the night, and the children were screaming and knocking on our shared door. This went on until 2am. We called the front office, but it all continued. Placing guests in rooms should be a little more thoughtful.

Friendly staff, walkable, warm pool, good food, comfy beds, pleasant ambiance, mini golf was fun

Food /bar area by pool was only open after Wednesday; motion detection light in bathroom no bueno-not fun to have the big bright light turn on when someone gets up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom; food was pretty pricy-for breakfast delivery for 4 of us, it was $100 after fees and tax and tip; door was knocked twice the morning of our check out as we were showering/packing to see if we were checking out; fire pits (not used) seemed to be up by other guests’ rooms so we opted not to use them. There didn’t seem to be places to sit around them either. No microwaves. No place to sit and eat in room.

We were in a Bungalow room right off of the cove. It was majestic waking up every morning looking at and walking right on to the sand. Although it rained our first 3 days of our stay, we still enjoyed it. I love the rain and it was nice to see it raining on the water and the mist in the mornings.

If I have to say that I didn't like something, it would be the gym. The gym space was too small and compact. The machines are like 3 in 1 machine which made it difficult to switch from one exercise to another.

The pool we used was very close to our room. It was clean and well-maintained and very comfortable. We enjoyed it very much.

We did have an ant problem in our room. Not a lot of ants but enough to ruin some cupcakes we had purchased.

Older, but beautiful property. We liked the individual, bungalow style rooms throughout the whole property and that the rooms have been remodeled. Great location right on a private beach, minutes from Belmont and other attractions.

More food options. Barefoot was the only restaurant open during our stay and we ate breakfast there only once, as our bill was $100, which is unacceptable. The market had a very small selection of muffins and pastries for purchase, but they didn’t replenish them once they were gone.
