The Wayfarer San Diego

The location is amazing! Right on the beach & walking/Biking distance to restaurants and shopping. They have a coffee shop in the lobby that sells breakfast & lunch, snacks, alcohol and we went there everyday it was so good! They also provide parking, we have a large truck and can never fit the truck anywhere! but they have an open lot on the property where you can park for 30 dollars a day and it was totally worth it. You can rent beach cruisers and go for a ride down the boardwalk they have everything at this hotel we loved it! The Pool over looks the ocean & Hottub. It was a great beach getaway super relaxing we found our new spot wel be back soon!

Location, location, location! Just can’t beat the location. Loved being able to wake up, head to the beach, walk to get food…. We could literally run back to our room to grab food or use the restroom from the beach! We needed two rooms for our family of 6 (one adult child and one teen among them) so we had one ocean front and one ocean view room - SO worth it! Waking up and having coffee with those views, wine on the balcony at night, hearing the sounds of the ocean…. So great!

If I hadn’t cornered the housekeeping staff and directly ASKED to have our rooms re-stocked with coffee, towels, garbages emptied, etc…. It wouldn’t have been done. This cannot be blamed on Covid any longer! WHY is daily housekeeping no longer a thing? And when I asked, they did the bare minimum. Restocked coffee but forgot the cups, sugar, etc., didn’t make the bed, didn’t vacuum….I don’t get it. These rooms are not cheap!

The room was compact but comfortable, the 2 queen beds were pleasant to sleep on, used fitted sheets. We paid extra for the partial ocean view room, and it was definitely worth it. The location is amazing, right on the beach - you can go in the ocean and then come right back into the hotel's pool area to sit on your lounge. We wanted to get together with friends to have lunch and were able to sit around two tables in the pool area, enjoying the great ocean views. The staff were quite friendly. I would definitely stay there again.

The hotel lobby is under construction - it would be nice to have a common area in the lobby where we could meet with friends, but alas.. We extended our reservation, and were charged significantly more for the extra night than for the originally booked ones.

Right on the beach. Safe and secure. heated pool and hot tub was hot and had excellent jets, the grounds were clean, close to pretty much everything.

We were not informed of how housekeeping worked. We checked with the front desk a few days in to our stay and found out we had to schedule a room cleaning.

Natalie and Monica were super helpful, warm, friendly and courteous. When we 'landed', we were able to check in early and a very nice gentleman from the maintenance team personally escorted our little family to our room. Way above satisfactory service. Great location. Great pool setup with access to the boardwalk and beach. Wayfarer just earned my repeat business. And their fee is well below their location and service. I hope my work team takes care of our customers as well as the Wayfarer team took care of me and our little granddaughters.

The location is amazing! The entire staff was great, super friendly, and couldn't have asked for a more beautiful view. Even in a partial view room, it didn't matter. We enjoyed it, and it was fantastic. You can tell there's hotel updates going on, which is needed since our room was older, but we were still comfortable, and it was very clean.

Since the hotel room was a little outdated, there was a musty smell, but this could have also been because of the beach and humidity. Nothing major and would stay again in a heartbeat!

Everything about this place exceeded our expectations. The staff quickly answered a couple of emailed questions in advance of our stay. Then, after our flight was delayed, they graciously agreed to refund a lost night when we got stuck. Upon arrival, our room was ready early, and had a better view than I'd imagined. The staff was welcoming, accommodating, and our room was kept fresh throughout our stay. The location is incredible, with a great stretch of beach out the door, along with restaurants, a grocery, and loads of other amenities within a very short walk. Loved it, and thanks.

Location it's excellent. Check in process was easy and staff was very friendly . Noticed the customer before me was having some issues and lady at reception was very sweet with him. Customer was frustrated because I guess couldn't find his reservation through a third party and receptionist was very sweet, helpful and patience. Beds and pillows are super comfortable. Spacious bathroom, mirror with good light and mirror available around the room. Spacious balcony and beautiful view to the pool and ocean. Room very clean and service excellent to provide us more coffee or pick up garbage. I really hope fire pit was available a little bit longer so we could sit there at night.

The pool, deck and access to the beach are amazing.

Our towel rack fell right off the wall and was clearly lose before we even checked in. This should have be dealt with in advance of our stay. Not a huge deal, however. They only had two pool towels in our room even though they knew we were a family of 4, again not a huge deal, we just called down for more. At one point I tried to call the front desk and the in room phone wouldn't work, had to use my cell phone. Didn't love that, could be safety issue. I did find the hotel to be expensive and I'm not sure I'd go back because it's a splurge and a little over priced for what it is, IMO. Location is amazing, kids loved the pool/hot tub (although that was broken for 2/3 of the day one of the two days we were there.

the beds was heavenly and a great night sleep after a long day of traveling. we had a partial ocean view and surprisingly the room was soundproof!

If you have a ton of luggage’s and have to climb the steps to get up to the 1st floor to get to elevator to get to your room will be tough. The garage parking is limited to vehicles less than 6ft tall. lol our truck will not fit and we did not attempt to park in garage!
