AC Hotel by Marriott Santa Rosa Sonoma Wine Country

Variable room temperature. Safety deposit box. Room layout. Mini fridge. So many things within walking distance. Needed a florist, and there was one within walking distance. Had to go to San Francisco, and the bus was within walking distance. The train was down the street. Many restaurants were close by.

I was there for a wedding, and I needed help buttoning my dress. The dress had 48 buttons in back, and I could not get to all of them by myself. I asked someone at the front desk to help me. I recall her name, but I will not mention it. She buttoned the dress the wrong way . It was impossible for her not to notice that the dress was not properly buttoned. I thought she had buttoned it nicely, but she did not. I noticed half way through the wedding that it was buttoned all wrong. I thought she was nice, but I guess she was not that nice. I purchased a soda pop and a bottle of water, but the clerk charged me for an extra item. It was only $4, and I did not complain. The clerk seemed to be having trouble registering the transaction.

It was in a great location and staff were all so friendly. The king bed was very comfy and the bathroom was very nice as well. They provided the full size pump of shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel in the shower which smelled great!!

Our room was a little small but it didn’t feel too tight. Overall still a good value because the room was nice, and location was excellent. We had a wonderful time exploring the town of Santa Rosa and Sonoma County.

The AC Hotel was well-appointed with a friendly staff, immaculate facilities and a fantastic location. One might consider the fact that the hotel butts right up against the 101 freeway as a negative, however, it did not bother me one bit! Noise was not a factor at all. I thought that it lent to the downtown urban vibe. So much was walkable for me from that location. Lastly, although one is struck right off the bat, is the cool design and vibe of the AC Hotel. My daughter lives in Norway so I am used to our visits in Oslo etc., and I can confirm that the feel of this hotel is very Scandinavian. The rooms were beautiful and very accommodating. I had a really great, quiet experience here and would stay again in a heartbeat.

The breakfast was not great. Number one, nothing was complimentary, and the second thing was that the offerings were paltry. I ate breakfast out both days. I would highly recommend the Americana right across the street for a delicious breakfast.

We liked the location. Excellent proximity to some fun restaurants and bars in the railroad Square neighborhood. This gives you access to the SMART train station. It also has immediate freeway access. You're within walking distance to the courthouse square/ downtown area with some popular breweries, coffee shops sandwich shops and a decent size shopping mall. The gym was well equipped with modern equipment

This is a very contemporary hotel, which we loved. It's set up different than most hotel rooms, but worked well.

We could never figure out the shower valve. It has two shower heads (which was nice), but somehow we flooded the BR floor every time we used it. We also think that the room rate is pretty high for not having cleaning service or breakfast. It is located on the west side of the downtown (west of the freeway) which is the smaller side, so not as much to do. Also parking is additional, and between that and the taxes, it brought the rate up about $35.00 per night.

The location was good. There was a big shopping mall just right in front of the hotel and the area around the hotel looked peaceful and relaxing.

The hotel itself is not that big. It is a five-story building with no basement parking facilities. So I think valet parking is inevitable, which costs $30 a night.

We didn't partake in the breakfast, however we MUST say that the front desk people were simply AMAZING and truly made a difference in our stay there!!! Special shout out to Kate for being so incredibly warm and welcoming and also to the other staff member who literally went out and picked a lemon from a tree for the cocktails we were enjoying in our room. Everyone was so pleasant and helpful! While our room was quite noisy (room 306) from the highway noise, we were still able to enjoy our stay and a lot of that had to do with the front of the house folks.

The noise in our room (306) from the highway was difficult to sleep through. We put both of our phones on with white noise and that helped some, but that is the only negative at all regarding our stay.

There is no breakfast due to Covid and the restaurant is closed. But there are plenty of close by to get breakfast. The hotel is a keeper on my list of places to stay. Immaculate, great staff and service. Thankfully they had wine in the pantry and snacks - got in late...Definitely a keeper. Stayed 2 nights back to back in different rooms due to travels plans changing, I don't think there is a bad room in the whole place and the beds were awesome.

Parking is an issue. The city lot behind the hotel is easy and plenty of space but charges.

The hotel is new, very clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. Parking is a short walk a few blocks away but not an issue for us as the lot is fenced and secure with 24 hr access. Nice restaurants within walking distance.

Really close to the highway but the noise level was minimal overall. Typical miserable uncomfortable down pillows that are flat and useless … why can’t Marriott get this right in their hotels?
