Sandman Hotel

Clean room, comfortable bed, dog friendly hotel.

The bathtub was really beat up, need to change the tub in room 212

The hotel is located just off Highway 101, making it easy to get to. The room was spacious and the bed comfortable. In a previous stay, there was a walk-in accessible shower, but this room had a shower over a tub. I prefer the walk-in one. I'll have to remember to book that room next time. The hotel is pet-friendly and has a grassy area for dogs staying at the hotel. I enjoyed my stay.

This has been a very rainy winter and driving down the coast through heavy rain was taxing. That, however, was nothing the hotel could have changed. I have no complaints about my stay at the Sandman.

The hotel room is large enough to feel spacious and the microwave and fridge make the stay easy and comfortable. I really appreciate the grassy area set aside for visiting dogs (along with the doggy bags for cleaning up). The walk-in shower includes a hand-held sprayer and there was plenty of hot water. I don't swim, but the pool area was clean and well kept. There is also an inviting outdoor area with seating and fire pit. Hotel staffperson Brian H. was very helpful when I needed cream for coffee and a Do Not Disturb sign. He even had dog treats at the desk.

The hotel itself is lovely and the staff is very helpful. Unfortunately, other guests decided that the space outside my door was perfect for smoking and the smoke came right in. Also, people kept trying the doorknob in the night. It made for a less than restful stay this time.

The Room was very clean, And smelled nice

There Was no shampoo once I got in the shower and only a couple squats of conditioner came out. I suggest putting bigger numbers on the room so you don’t have to get out of your car to find out where your room might be. And for the money the breakfast was absolutely horrible that’s not even a breakfast, when you pay $170 a night you expect to get more than, box cereals, a bagel, an apple was the only fruit or a pancake you put in a toaster. I have paid way less for a motel room, and had 100 times better breakfast

Clean. Glass glasses, and ceramic mugs. Refrigerator and microwave. Comfortable bed.

Not really the properties fault, but maybe it is…Two large tour buses were parked directly across from our room. They started their generators and/or engines at 5:30 am. It was very noisy, and they didn’t leave until 9:30. Annoying to wake up to and have that noise all morning.

Fantastic pool area and bar! The hotel was easy to get to off the highway, but not especially near anything of interest. The beds were comfortable and the breakfast was tasty. Nice touch with fresh berries!

They've obviously spruced up an old motel and done a nice job for the most part, though the lighting in the shower/toilet area really needs updating. The breakfast was good but the setting is really spartan--a couple of big picnic tables in a white room. They could warm it up a bit.

Great location, next to Trader Joe’s and Huckleberry’s Restaurant which is a wonderful breakfast/lunch place where you get 15% your order for staying at Sandman. Unfortunately, we weren’t told that until after purchasing our last breakfast and the bill had already been rung up.

Their continental free breakfast is not great (in fact it’s pretty awful) and they are always running out of things.

The hotel itself was good. The rooms were a bit plain, but for the value, it was very acceptable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The pool area was very cool, however, towels were only available 2 times out of our 6 visits. Breakfast was a hit! I will definitely stay again. Thanks

Our little family was blown away with our space. The room was so large, yet comfortable. The shower, beds, and mini fridge were absolutely perfect.

Construction storage containers took up too much parking space outside. Parking adjacent to the rooms was tricky to secure.
