Hawks Cay Resort

The pool and lagoon were wonderful. My massage by Lauren was top notch. Very family/kid friendly place.

Why are boom boxes and loud music allowed at the lagoon/pool? Multiple times we were laying out and relaxing, only to hear reggaeton blasting next to us. I think for the amount of $$ we pay, and as it’s a private hotel, we shouldn’t have to listen to other peoples music.

Overall very nice stay. The property is nice. Landscaping is nice. The hotel could use an overall facelift. Musky room smells, doors difficult to open/close. The hotel was convinient and had everything you would need to not leave the resort. Costs of resort items is high however. Example, marketplace popsicles we’re 10.00. The oven fire pizza was good. Overall the music/activities/entertainment they advertised as a part of the resort experience wasn’t really as advertised. More understated and an afterthought once there. The lagoon is small, not like the online pictures, toys are free to check out for lagoon, which was perfect bc kids just paddle out and back and are done and on to other things. There is wildlife in the lagoon. Not much to snorkel for though. Beware of jellyfish, they do not maintain or screen the lagoon feeder so we were stung 3 separate times by jelly’s. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would consider returning for an off season stay or cheaper deal. It was not quite worth the nightly rate tbh with all the add ons you buy.

Stung multiple Times by jelly’s and they don’t control the iguanas around the pool and lagoon. They are temperamental invasive species here and many hissed at us, they would block garbage cans and walk ways etc. it wasn’t what we planned to deal w on vacation. Rooms need updated. Musky/moldy smells

We are returning customers. Georgina at the restaurant was great and we recognized each other from my March visit. She was friendly and polite, as usual. Chef Derek not only prepared delicious food but we were so impressed with his personable visit to the tables, as we ordered breakfast. He believes in great customer service, and it shows. Another great employee you have is Daniel, a young man who drove us in the golf cart and also served as greeter, opening the main lobby doors. What an exceptional young man also. He can engage in conversation with guests, is very personable and has a great head on his shoulders. Omar who was our server at the 66 Prime restaurant for dinner. He was very attentive and always came to the table with a big smile. Loved the property. Beautiful grounds that are well kept!! The two swimming pools and lagoon give you several options for enjoying the water. The staff take pride in caring for the property. All the staff we encountered appeared to really enjoy working there.

We stayed in Unit 5111. Needs a few minor maintenance fixes. Toilet paper holder in 1st floor needs to be secured onto wall. Dining table is well worn, looks dirty.

Perfect for a family getaway while in the Keys during low season (we can imagine how crowded this must get), conveniently located mid-way if you consider taking a break before Key West or going back to Miami- the unit that we were staying at was fully renovated and facing the water, away from the main resort building- which allowed us to see beautiful sunsets in a perfectly quiet environment as well as conveniently located walking distance from one of the restaurant and the kids pool.

Very few things to be honest- If you are staying in one of the properties away from the main building, then consider this as a vacation rental rather than an hotel stay to adjust your expectations. Some kitchen basics were missing upon arrival such as filters for the coffee machine and we had to request extra linen for the sofa bed which was not present in the unit when we arrived. Please note that the closest real supermarket (Public) is a 20 min drive away, so I would recommend stocking up before your arrival!

It was a beautiful resort. Comfortable rooms and the view we had from the room was spectacular. We had a great time in the Coral Cay area since there weren’t many people. It’s a wonderful place to swim at the pool and do other fun activities like bike riding around the resort.

The majority of the staff were very friendly, helpful and joyful which is what one wants to feel (welcomed) just one or two who probably were having a bad day, but it must have been the exception because the 99% of the staff were very friendly.

This is a beautiful location and a nice hotel. Lots to do and see, you could stay put for a few days in this resort. The staff were generally very friendly and helpful.

Food quality was well below average in all of the restaurants we tried. There were groups of (very loud) people drinking which meant the pool was not that enjoyable at times. The communal hallways in the hotel looked rather tiered and were often cluttered with cleaning trolleys - this is expected at certain times but not all of the time.

All amenities such as bar etc were organized, manned with friendly, helpful people and easily accessible. Swimming and sunbathing areas excellent, and the many children were a delight to watch having a healthy time in the sun..

The food Market needs to have it's consumer offering reviewed. For instance if you are going to offer a charcouterie Board selection of coldcuts then offer the Crusty french sticks that compliment that

Quiet. Good location. Comfortable. Nice pool and saltwater lagoon. Dolphin experience. Games. Free paddle boarding. The Tiki bar food was good and not too expensive.

Overpriced. The resort fee on top of the room charge felt cynical and excessive. We chose not to use the main restaurants for dinner; they looked overpriced and had mixed reviews so we mainly ate off resort.

The main pool area was as great as always and our Son made lots of friends, also the safely I felt around the complex whilst out on my early morning run was great 👍🏻 Good to have the Sheriff presence whilst running in the dark

Unfortunately the standard of the accommodation has greatly decreased since our 1st visit 7 years ago (Sunset Villa) and the lack of available sunbeds even before 8am with everyone having laid there towels down and nowhere to be seen for hours 😔One morning I counted 10 people around the pool but not a single bed available, mentioned to staff and advised if not returned by 9am, items would be cleared...nope. Not blaming the staff, but very selfish of others

Property was beautiful Room was comfortable Radar at the adult pool was great!!!

Some of the staff were less than accommodating (primarily the marketplace staff). Didn’t appreciate the up charges for tennis, yoga The marketplace coolers had almost zero inventory Housekeeping did clean our room until after 4 each day
