Rainbow Bend Resort

This is a funky/cool little place, and we liked it here. Wonderful beach, pool, and hot tub. The owners are wonderful & accommodate if they can. We liked the location near Curry Hammock, but be aware it's at least 6 miles into town. The restaurant has an awesome chef, but is small and limited hours. They're open roughly 5pm - 9ish and closed Tues & Wed. You also MUST make a reservation, and you might not get in the night(s) you're there, as it's the 'nice dinner out' place to go for locals. Order the duck, it's awesome. Although everything else is too! Breakfast is not fancy, but it's cooked to order!

Booking's "do you want to upgrade" email told us we'd get a room w/ a view, which isn't what we got. When talking about this w/ the office, this seems to be a pretty common issue, and IMO needs to be worked out. This is an updated 'old Florida' place, right on Rt 1 so road noise is an issue if you're not facing the water. Also- just be aware - there isn't a bar or restaurant available onsite (other than the Thurs-Mon, reservations-only restaurant mentioned above). Like I said, just be aware.

We enjoyed our stay very much. We had room number 13 which has a fantastic view from the deck. The rooms looked very new and updated and were very clean. The kitchen was well supplied. Swimming pool with warm jacuzzi was nice and the breakfast was delicious each morning. Marathon is only a short drive away where you can find plenty of restaurants and supermarkets. We chose this location because it is half way the Keys.

The interior of the room was recently updated we could see, but the exterior could use a bit of paint and updating after the last hurricane, but that was probably work in progress.

The pool is lovely, particularly with the outlook to sea and given the proximity to the road, it was surprisingly quiet. The breakfast was great. The room was lovely - we had a 2 double bedroom which was ample for our needs as a family of 5. If we had stayed longer we would have like to have had more storage space but for 2 nights it was absolutely fine.

The air conditioning was a little hit and miss. We were either quite warm or absolutely freezing. Probably out of your control but the smell from the sea was unpleasant when the wind was in the wrong direction. It meant we didn’t sit out as much as we would have liked as it was overwhelming and we could not get into the water due to the debris in the sea which was also a big shame. Having said that, this would be similar to many properties and not specific only to this property, just something we were unaware of.

Excellent location, right on the beach, lovely view from the balcony. Very nice, spacious apartment. Excellent on site restaurant both for dinner and breakfast

Loved the pool area and hot tub. We spent a lot of time there. Daughter loved the hammock, her favorite napping place. Loved the rental of water activities. Shallow water kids were safe paddle boarding. Loved the location. Loved the staff. Loved the private beach. Never felt crowded. Loved the complementary breakfast cooked fresh when you ordered.

We were in hotel style room for family of 4. Would choose different option next time. Was a tight space, especially in bathroom. How ever second thought, it did create great family bonding time. No place to hang clothes up. Minimal place to dry a beach towel or suites. A rug by the door to catch some sand would have been great addition. Would love you to think about doing beach food type lunch/snack menu. Forces you to leave the resort to find food during day.

This was a very nice place to stay! This is an older place with that old Florida charm! They have a amazing talented Chef Alfrada at the Hideaway Cafe who cooks some amazing food to be enjoyed with a beautiful ocean view! The very friendly staff was wonderful! I had a welcoming text before we checked in telling us they would let us know when our room was ready. Also every day asking us if all was good if we needed anything! I have stayed at many older places in the Keys and most structures are about the same! The difference here is the happy friendly staff a little cafe with amazing food!

I guess the only thing would be your not in walking distance to any bars, restaurants or stores. So plan on driving a couple miles north or south.

This small resort place turned out to be a very nice choice. Its rooms have been recently renovated and were clean. The private beach front was a surprisingly nice, cozy and beautiful with palm trees and beach chairs completing the ocean view. For such a small place, the restaurant was also quite nice with free breakfast served from 8-10 am. Overall this was a good choice of value for money, indeed.

The air conditioner is so loud, though it helped drown out whatever little noise outside as a benefit. The location is a bit away from the Key West, where main activities take place for a visit. The ride back to the hotel at night can be interesting though as we got to see a lot of fireworks in the sky as we were driving.

property was a little worn looking outside but with ocean frontage like that it is to be expected. however, the actual suite I stayed in was very nice. the private beach is excellent, kayaks, paddle boards etc.. available to rent. we rented kayaks and saw stingrays and other small fish. the staff was friendly and helpful, everything was clean and neat. nearby to other attractions in marathon. the on-site hideaway cafe was also very nice. don’t book if you’re looking for the four seasons but if you’re traveling on a budget alone or with family I cannot recommend this place enough.

It's a wonderful setting by the sea. We had a room with a lovely patio. The breakfast in the morning was amazingly good - superb in fact. Also, we had a couple of excellent meals from the Hideaway Cafe which really is a hidden gem.

There was a noisy group who stayed up all night one night, talking, laughing, flashing lights into our room, playing music etc. We all have different noise levels and that is no problem in general, but in the middle of the night people need to show more consideration. There is a seaweed smell at low tides, but that is common across the Keys.

I had an incredible experience at Rainbow Bend Resort! The resort boasts a beautiful view that simply takes your breath away. The entire property was clean and well-maintained, and I especially loved the private beach, which offered a serene and relaxing escape. The staff was exceptionally friendly, but I must give a special mention to Maurin. Their communication skills were simply amazing, and they went above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of my stay was perfect. I can't recommend Rainbow Bend Resort enough for anyone seeking a peaceful and enjoyable getaway. It truly exceeded all my expectations, and I'll definitely be returning for another memorable stay!
