Everybody was very helpful. Very friendly!clean rooms wide halls that were well lit. You didn’t have that dingy corridor feeling.
Wish there were elevators. Doors make a lot of noise when are being shut we had a bus of young people leaving in the early morning. Made it impossible to sleep with the doors slamming.

Perfect location! Super close to all of the activities we wanted to do like visiting Anna Ruby Falls and tubing with Cool River tubing! This was a family trip with our two little ones, ages 7 and 9, so we didn’t get to take advantage of the zip lining offered at the lodge this time since my youngest wasn’t quite big enough and my oldest isn’t that adventurous. Next time when my little one is older, we would love to give it a try! Looked super fun!! The state park had playgrounds and creeks that my kids loved. We rented a pedal boat for an hour and spent time on the lake, which was beautiful! We also spent time cooling down in the visitor center where we played games in their game room and grabbed some snacks. The lodge bedroom was nice and clean with a nice sized bathroom for our family of 4. As guests, we received free water bottles every morning, which was nice. We definitely used them with all of the outdoor activities we participated in. On our last night, we rented firewood and used the fire pit outside to make s’mores.
The only complaint would be that some of the front desk staff members were not that friendly. One in particular seemed annoyed whenever we would come in with a question. A smile goes a long way. Also, it would have been helpful if the lodge restaurant offered dinner. They only serve breakfast/lunch. At the end of the day being able to have dinner at the lodge would have been so great instead of having to find something downtown that we weren’t familiar with.

The map of the grounds was super helpful, we got in after dark and used the map to help find our room.
The breakfast was just okay. We did come a little later though there were just plenty of people arriving after us. Didn't seem like there were more than two people working so things took time. Not a problem with that, just a notice of short staffing might help keep frustrations at bay. It was buffet style but seemed like some things you had to ask a worker for, not sure if this was just due to short staffing and the replenishment of goods got put on the back burner while attending to guests.

Tavern and restaurant food/service was spot on. Both gentlemen where excellent!
A few things. The door was a little tricky to open. You really had to muster some strength to twist the handle all the way down to open the door. We found a pet roach and I chased it down to kill it. Room service never made our beds while we were out for the day. Very nice ladies though.

Location, beautiful and close to trails and Helen.
The maze that was navigating the hotel main building and the individual lodge buildings. Lodge is bi level but that is not obvious in dusk/dark so had to lug suitcases up stairs when we could have just rolled them. Also, the restaurant that is supposed to do breakfast was only open 730 to 900. We walked up at 845am, had to dodge people setting up for a conference, to find out the restaurant was "closed for a private event" and empty. But the "Tavern" restaurant wasn't open yet. Stayed 4 days and could never catch them open. Seems odd and weird that for this price point of stay that a breakfast was so hard to get onsite with 2 restaurants in the building. The open hours should overlap or something.

I absolutely loved the location and theme because its such a beautiful park and its 3 miles away from Helen! Make sure to try the zip-lines which was a huge plus to discover on our visit to Helen! It looks like a amazing location for camping. Absolutely recommend. This is pretty much in the open, so don’t be surprise to see a roach or two and beware of the bears!
They need to improve the breakfast restaurant, specially since is not included. It wasn’t terrible but it was definitely a little below inn standards…so if you stay here I recommend you to just breakfast somewhere else in Helen.

Lodge: Excellent location. 7min to Helen. There is a shuttle from the lodge to Helen but it wasn't running when we were there. Restaurant on site. Free water bottles and fruit all day. Friendly staff. Lake beach was super close. We didn't go to playground.
Lodge: Common areas in the lodge didn't feel clean but our room and bathroom seemed fine. 70s decor everywhere but seems like they are updating buildings slowly. Microwave is available in the common area and ice maker in our building didn't work. I feel that we may have overpaid for 2 night stay bc we booked only a week in advance. We stayed with kids. We all enjoyed the stay.

Tavern service; checkin (Beth), maintenance (Andrea), and housekeeping (Marilyn).
Upon arrival, our air condition wasn't working and the room was hot! Thanksfully, Andrea came to.repair while we went to Tavern for dinner (2+ hrs). Upon return, she was still in room, working, but successful in a few...she asked if we'd been comped at the Tavern? No, and no one said anything about it to us. She said she's check with them; we'd be comped. We weren't and on checkout, explanation was that was through vouchers--actually, to be effective, if communicaiton worked, it should have been for that meal, drinks, etc. We were never comped.
