Wow! Where to start? Everything was perfect. The hotel is a comfortable mix of historic elements and modern swank. Upon checking in we immediately felt welcome. The clerk was very friendly and gave us wonderful information on the area. We had arrived about an hour before check-in time, but they were very accommodating by getting us in early. The room was arranged differently than those in most hotels, so it had more charm. Huge bathroom, separate area for dressing, a nice desk, and big windows. Very quiet to be next to the El. Beds were so comfortable with lots of soft pillows. The room had a Keurig machine and fridge. (Wish they had a microwave). Can't say enough about the staff. When I left in the mornings, they all shouted out "Have a great day!" When I came back, they asked about my day. There is a posh but comfortable bar and nice restaurant in the lobby. Food was very good and really reasonably priced for a hotel. Prices were about the same as normal restaurants in the area. (Burnt end tacos were fantastic.) The hotel is about a 20-minute walk from Union Station or a $10 taxi ride. There is an El stop right in front of hotel. So many things are within walking distance. Millenium Park and art museum 3 minutes. Theater District 10 minutes. River 10 minutes. Magnificent Mile 15 minutes. I was a bit nervous coming to Chicago with all the negative press I was hearing. I never once felt threatened. I will be traveling to Chicago often to visit my daughter, and this will be my basecamp.

Can't think of a thing, except maybe a microwave to rewarm the Chicago pizza leftovers.

Lots of stores and restaurants nearby

no parking garage for vehicles, plus being overcharged for parking, it should have been included if you’re going to stay at the hotel.

The hotel location is great. Roughly central to all main attractions, we had great weather so walked to most. Room size was impressive for a city centre location and good value for money. The room was very comfortable and kept spotlessly clean. The hotel has a comfortable bar but no breakfast offering, this is not a problem however as there is a super cafe/backer right across the street. Just to mention the hotel is alongside the Loop, but we asked for a quiet room and were not disturbed at all. Will be our Hotel next time in Chicago!

Nothing to complain.

This is one of the best hotels I've stayed at in the Loop. It's a 15 minute walk from Ogilvie Transportation Center and Union Station. It's also a block away from the Monroe red line station and the Washington/Wells station that most of the other el lines stop at. It's a 5 minute walk from the Art Institute and Millennium Park. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, especially Beverly who gave me so many recommendations for things to do in the city.

Front staff was great, very nice and plenty of info for food and what was going on downtown. Bar was very good, staff was awesome. did not try any food. Older building but nicely kept. Very clean lobby and great flooring.

Room was smaller than expected. Shower pressure was lacking for sure. A/C could have been better, I turned down the room T-stat but never hit desired temp. The price for Historical whatever was excessive but not the fault of the staff, just the overall price for the room and addons seemed high for what we received, and I say this after staying in Chicago over the past 15plus years.

This hotel has a perfect location, right at the heart of the Loop and in walking distance from the main amenities. Staff was super friendly, flexible and helpful. I was allowed early check in, I also needed to swap rooms due to noise issues but my query was handled without a problem. I would be glad to stay here again. Goddess and the Baker is just across the street and it's a must try for breakfast!

Front facing rooms have an excellent street view but the train makes them super noisy (and they're running all night). I decided to change my room and even though this second one was claimed to be the same size, looked more basic and smaller with a very bold view on a neighboring wall. I was allowed a peak to the room and decide and I opted to change as all I needed was a quiet room for good night sleeps, and I got that. There was no single rate option for solo traveler, rooms are priced for 2 people as minimum. This seem to be common in all hotels, it was still shocking to pay this price for one person.

The location of the hotel was wonderful. We came to Chicago for a concert. We could walk to the main attractions along Michigan Ave. Although Soldier Field was a bit of a trek, that was doable too. The hotel was clean and comfortable. The thing that makes this facility really shine is the staff. They were kind and helpful. They gave us advice on visiting attractions and even though we checked out, the hotel offered to hold our bags and keep the car valeted for the day while we explored. It was so helpful. The concierge representatives at the front desk were just amazing when we checked out. The gentleman who helped us with our car and bags was so personable. The gentleman that waited on us at the restaurant for breakfast at the hotel was very kind. We would come back in a heartbeat to this location because of the hospitality. It was a soft place to land.

The bed was extremely comfortable. The room was nice and quiet and the location of the hotel was great. The lobby has a great ambience and the elevators and general decor add tremendously to the character and overall experience of the stay. Guests always appreciate the important things like a friendly and helpful staff, but they also appreciate the little things like a couple of free waters and a free drink at the bar. Simple yet nice touches.

Not much not to like. The price did hurt a bit. $90.00 for two days of parking in which the vehicle did not leave the garage and the additional charges for the "Landmark" designation definitely detracted from the experience but we felt safe and the car was there when we went back for it upon check out and those are no small things in one of the biggest cities in the country.

Enrique was amazing! He suggested restaurants to go to and would point us in the direction we needed to head. He was bubbly all the time and always felt like a friend. The staff behind the counter were also amazing. They always greeted us when we came through. When they cleaned our room, the second day, they gave us bottled water right away because they knew we always asked for some when we got back from our day of adventure. I really was impressed on the customer service! We also had an open window that wouldn't close, and they sent maintenance right away to fix it.

Smaller beds than expected but it worked.

This hotel is located in downtown, which is close to public transportation. It only takes 4 mins to the red line. The room is really clean. Housekeeping was so nice, even though we told her that our room didn't need to be cleaned every day. Every morning I saw her, she always asked us if we needed to clean the room or anything. Note: We booked a parking spot at the Grand Park North garage which is also close to this hotel. Our room is big enough for two people.
