This hotel is steps away from everything in the downtown area. We literally could wake up and see millennium park and the lake!! The staff were incredible and the extra $10 snack bar per day as part of our stay was a nice touch!!
There was only one working elevator which made getting up and down from our floor a long wait at times because there were quite a few guests at the time we stayed. Stairs were an option that we did occasionally, but heading up or down to the ninth floor after a day of walking was not ideal and the stairs were at times confusing to navigate (if you did both the marble stairs and the steel stairs)

Stunning Landmark Building in the best location, close to the Art Institute and an easy walk to all our tourist attractions. Staypineapple staff were accommodating, friendly and attentive. Bed and linens were very comfortable. Loved having a real key to open the door. Refreshing change from the big hotels and long waits at the elevator.
Would have liked breakfast included, or offered as an add on. The restaurant would have been a nice place to start the day. This was not a real issue for us - the rooms are cleaned every other day. The reason I mention this is I thought the price should have included daily cleaning.

The location was great. Staypineapple is a couple blocks from Millennium Park in one direction and a few blocks from the Riverwalk in another. The beds were so comfy! The bathroom was good size with a tub/shower. I loved the "how to use the duvet" instructions and it just made for a great night sleep. The front desk staff were excellent, knowledgeable and helpful. The Pineapple water in the lobby was a nice feature so we could fill our bottles as we went out for the day touring. I would stay here again without question.
There wasn't any conditioner in the shower and I would've called but I was leaving that day. Otherwise everything was great!

This hotel is in the PERFECT location for shopping, dining, eating, and wandering downtown Chicago!! The lobby and restaurant (The Atwood) area is beautiful- bright with nice furnishings. Love the old tile and wrought iron work in the elevator area! Free water dispenser with ice (and pineapple slices!) in lobby, but also you can get free water bottles at any time (we had some delivered to our room, and anytime we ventured out into the hot weater we got a couple). Each guest over 21 gets a free drink at the bar upon arrival (beer, house wine, or soda), which is a nice touch. The room was a good size for downtown hotels with space for a tufted bench by the windows. The king size bed came with 2 "European" duvets, one for each guest, that were SO COMFORTABLE; like sleeping in a cloud! The bath toiletries were Tommy Bahama and smelled delicious! The "pineapple touches" in the rooms are adorable-- mugs, robes, even the toilet paper was wrapped up to look like a pineapple! Overall we really enjoyed our stay and look forward to staying here again on our next trip to Chicago!!
The guest room doors need an inside slide chain or bolt of some kind. Someone knocked on our door at 4 am and we surely wished we had an interior lock of some kind when that happened! The bath but and shower head could use updating.

Hotel can boast an exceptional location in Chicago, especially for first time visitors. It is in the middle of the Loop shopping district surrounded by great shops, restaurants, transport hubs and main attractions. It is central to all of the places someone visiting Chicago for the first time needs to be near. The building is classic with wonderful vintage decor. The rooms are nicely put together with comfortable beds and well done bathrooms. Staff is minimal but helpful and friendly and there is a bar/restaurant in the lobby.
This may not matter to everyone and it wasn't a problem but one needs to be aware that housekeeping is every other day (so hang up your towels and don't make too much of a mess :). The lobby and front desk are small but didn't ever get crowded or seem to pose any issues, but if you are looking for a grand entrance with a concierge, this isn't for you.

Loved the history of staying in a historic hotel, where new meets old. Breakfast and appetizers at the bar were delicious. Received a free drink coaster and used at the bar. We were celebrating our anniversary and they put us in a great room with a view, a bottle of prosecco, truffle chocolates and a lovely note. A nice surprise to make our anniversary special.
My only complaint was my phone going off at 7am with reminder texts (5 of them for one message) on checking out at noon. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to fall back asleep and it was my only morning to sleep in.

This is a small-medium sized boutique hotel (around 100 rooms) that is beautifully cared for. The layout of my room was attractive with excellent views of State and Washington streets in two directions from a bay window. I happily worked away on my laptop at the desk looking north towards State. The restaurant downstairs with high ceilings and windows is also an attractive space and I made a point of taking breakfast there on three occasions (once before I had checked in). The waffles are superb!
The shower and bath were functional but at least in my room they were in need of an upgrade.

Super cute hotel and super nice staff. When we did the check-in we were offered to switch our room to the same kind but in the 14th floor, which is much cooler given that it is downtown Chicago. It was an amazing cute room, super comfortable bed (top naked experience). The staff were super kind and helped us find dinning locations and gave us some band aids when we needed them (some blisters from walking). We were also given a complimentary drink in their bar and limitless water, which was super nice given the hot weather. I would definitely recommend this hotel!
They no longer have a partnership with a parking garage, which they need to update in their booking page.

First of all, Alex, whom I spoke with on the phone, was able to take care of the issue with my three room reservation. He was very helpful and kind, and made us feel at ease. They were able to accommodate all my requests for early check in and rooms close together, because I was traveling with kids and my 84yo mom. We loved the beds and soft cloud-like comforter! That was a big hit. They were able to suggest a black car limo service that made going to an event so much more convenient. The location was great because it was close to restaurants and shopping. We will definitely stay here again in the future.
I wished there was room service or that the restaurant kitchen stayed open past 11pm. But it was a huge deal.

Everyone was so friendly and helpful! Loved all of the pineapple items—mug, tp, towels, robe—so cute. The bedding was incredibly nice—I want one of those personal comforters! The building was so cool and the location was dynamite. The restaurant was a nice place for a drink or a bite to eat.
We had an issue with heat, which was not resolved. Luckily the robe kept me warm enough. Also, there was nowhere to sit and work and plug in my laptop. Is there usually a room for that? It seemed like something in the basement level that was under construction.
