Kevin, the owner, was absolutely wonderful. He is very talkative and social so if that’s not your thing, be aware. He took us up to the room and showed us around and insisted we tell him when we wanted to come down for breakfast. He was genuinely interested in our plans and if we were enjoying our weekend.

The room was behind a locked gate, a locked outside door, and a private door, which was nice, but outside door was in an alley that was not as well lit as I would’ve liked.

It was a unique experience! I have family members who live around the corner, so the location was extremely convenient for us. The suites are like apartments. The decor is nothing too exciting, and it was a little quirky in that there were photographs of Mayor Daly throughout our suite. But it was very comfortable and had everything we needed for our short stay. We heard the Sunday gospel brunch was a site to see so we popped in for our complimentary breakfast and for serenaded by the owner/chef/innkeeper/gospel singer! He even came by our table and greeted us. The food was excellent and the gospel music was such a novelty. Interesting experience!

The decor in the suite could be updated.

Great personal service and cooked-to-order breakfast by the wonderful proprietors; very spacious and comfortable rooms (I has a two room suite). Although the McCormick Place Convention Centre where I was attending a conference is 4 miles away, they happily dropped me to the door each morning. Amazing - thanks!

The staff were friendly and the service was excellent. The owner stopped and chatted with us about the history of the property for awhile and also showed us the rest of the facilities. They even had a friendly dog to greet you at the door. It was secured with a lockable gangway and entryway door. Parking is included and an excellent breakfast.

It was a very unique place. The room was cool and clean. It is in a great location. We went to the baseball games, a five minute drive and we were close to the pier, with only a 15 minute drive. parking was free and in a lit up lot. The building is locked for extra security!

We were on the upper level and I don’t do well with stairs so not having an elevator was a bummer. But we really wanted to be in the Sox suite in the third level.

The staff were friendly, helpful, attentive, and accommodating. The breakfast each morning was delicious. I especially enjoyed the croissant, ham off the bone, and french toast. It's in a quiet, walkable neighborhood with plenty of good restaurants and a few large art facilities nearby.

Dave and Kevin are two people you should definitely meet. They did their best for us from check in to check out. I felt like I was at home in Chicago, not for a business trip. Whatever we needed, they tried to solve it. Breakfast was the best breakfast I've had in a long time. I chose this hotel by reading the reviews, and I have never regretted it. I want to go to eat again Kevin's wonderful breakfasts! Thanks guys, you are the best!

Our host, Keith, was very personable and attentive. He made a great breakfast that we enjoyed as we conversed with him. Our unit had so much character and was very clean and comfortable. This place was a great location for our time at the game at Guaranteed Rate Field.

The room was very clean. Kevin was very friendly. He also gave us lots of ideas of places to eat and things go see/do. Our trip was in July and the room was nice and cool.

We stayed in the three bedroom suite. It would have been nice to have two bathrooms. The one bathroom was very small.

Needed something near the Bridgeport Art Center, and this place was perfect. Loved having a separate room for the kids and easy access to free parking. The old building is so charming, and the brunch was excellent!

Not a fan of window AC units, but I know that comes with the territory for an older building.
