Tru By Hilton Charlotte Airport Lake Pointe

TRU is a new (to me, anyway) brand under the Hilton chain. This one shares a building with a Hampton Inn. Everything here was new, squeaky clean and very contemporary looking. The other half of the hotel is a Hampton Inn, a much older Hilton brand. I guess they are trying to offer two options under one roof: the old and familiar and the new and glitzy. Or, are they phasing out Hampton? I don't know. Anyway, the room was clean and nice, the staff friendly, and we got a good price for a quick stop on our way elsewhere. No complaints.

The location is reasonable close to the motorway, and the name implies it's close to the airport (I was driving) but there isn't much in the way of food, or anything else, in the immediate vicinity.

8/202 I loved everything about this hotel, literally everything. To be honest, I feel picky when rating hotels because I’m a light sleeper and usually only like to sleep in one place (my bed). The hotel was very clean, modern and the rooms were quiet. The service was excellent from before checking in and all the way through checkout. The staff made sure we had what we needed, our accommodations were met, and I honestly loved that they emailed me the receipt before checkout and the final receipt at checkout (why can’t more places do this?) Can’t forget the complimentary water at check-in… they knew we were dehydrated. There was many chairs and places to lounge/ relax. Almost every seat and table had a USB port and outlet to plug-in your electronic devices. I didn’t get to checkout the bar, but it was lively. The gym was outstanding and wasn’t solely cardio machines, but actually had weights. So 10/10 there. I would revisit again, and definitely recommend this hotel. Even if you are visiting Downtown, the drive was only about 15-20 minutes, so it was well worth it to have top notch service and quality beds / sleep. If your bag gets lost in luggage, no worries, the rooms have body wash, shampoo, conditioner, lotion and hand soap. The desk was WELL stocked with goodies and necessities too. Final comment, I liked that the AC unit was not the loud type that wakes you up every-time it kicks on.

My only wish is that they had regular scrambled eggs without bell peppers for breakfast.

The breakfast was much like home. There was a variety of choices and the hot food was hot, the cold food were cold. The setting was very comfortable. The people that was sitting with other people were very polite as to not be loud and obnoxious using inside voices allowing guest to sit and eat comfortably. This is the 3rd time I booked at Tru and every time I visit Charlotte I will be staying there. The staff was helpful and ver friendly. Answering any question and making sure your stay was a good one. Love, love this hotel

Actually my stay was what I expected so there isn’t much I could say on a negative note, because my needs were met and I didn’t not have one problem.

we stay here frequently, unfortunately, for this visit, our plane was diverted to another airport in another state, and we were unable to stay. We called the hotel, and they would not offer us a refund. However, our car was there from staying the week prior before flying out. We had to pay an Uber to drive us to Charlotte North Carolina to pick up our car and when we arrived the front desk staff let us use facilities, gave us some bottled water, and even let us enjoy the breakfast after our overnight stay in the airport in South Carolina. While we were disappointed that we were not allowed a refund or a future, stay credit due to circumstances beyond our control, we will probably still use this hotel when we travel from a Charlotte in Airport. Staff is always very friendly.

Tru Lake Pointe was conveniently located next to the airport. I was shuffled to and from the airport with car parking the duration of my trip. Everything went as planned and the property was very clean and had everything I needed. Each staff member was helpful either over the phone or in person. The breakfast spread is for champions! Thanks Tru for making my stay nice.

The shuttle service had a longer wait than told on my request Rivne picked up from airport. May have been a miscommunication. I waited 30 minutes.

The breakfast was one of the attractions for me. It was fantastic. The other plus was airport pick up and drop off because I did not have a car. The room was lovely, nice new bathroom facilities. Very clean. Large screen TV my kids loved this feature and the pool table was a bonus in the lobby

I did not like that I had to order food for delivery but that was because I did not have a car. The pool water was green and that was a turn off.

Things looked newer , the building seemed almost brand new... reception had good seating area . Breakfast was good, Water bottles were provided upon check in - liked it. Parking lot had CCTV. The area was nice with easy access to highway and freeway.

Walls were thin, could hear the next room clearly or Neighbours were very loud. Although quiet time is posted, it could not be fully enforced. But all noise stopped post 12 pm.

Everyone at the front desk was amazing! You have a truly wonderful and professional staff. I know that they were having problems with the key machine, but they handled it professionally and seamlessly. There was one lady, I think her name was Adrienne that went above and beyond to make our stay great! Tru is a very modern and minimalist hotel. Hardwood floors in a hotel are an interesting concept. Make sure to bring your slippers or fuzzy socks. The lobby is a lot of fun, especially if you like to play pool, work in a fun environment or just relax. The room was very clean which I loved. Overall great stay.

My only complaint about the hotel is the lack of microwaves in a hotel without a restaurant, and that is not within walking distance of any eateries. It feels poorly planned. Even if the brand standard is no microwaves, they should be able to make an exception for your location until the area is developed more.

Front desk staff was friendly upon arrival and I was able to easily book the free shuttle to the airport for next morning. Room was very clean and modern. Kids were happy that Netflix was available to sign in on TV. Breakfast was good! I paid $50 to park my car there for 15 days while on a trip. When I returned, it was easy to call the hotel and the shuttle quickly came to pick us up at the airport.

This hotel was very nice. I liked all the modern updates and the fact that there wasn’t any carpet. There were hooks instead of dressers and plenty of places to store our suitcases. The bathroom and bedding was very clean! Will stay at a Tru again!

There was one time where we could not find a person to help us purchase food and drink at the snack bar. Other than that, things were great!
