Embassy Suites by Hilton Charleston Harbor Mt. Pleasant

The location was great! The maintenance, kitchen, bar and cleaning staff were friendly and welcoming. At breakfast there was a good choice and the managers reception was also very good. ,

The staff on reception!!! In particular the women who checked us in and out. They were rude, hardly made eye contact and didn’t welcome us to the hotel. We were given our room key and a piece of A4 paper and told “everything you need to know is on there”! On check out she hardly looked up probably because I had disturbed her on her phone and didn’t even say thank you when we paid. During our stay we felt like an inconvenience. At one point, when I asked about towels for the pool, she made me feel that I should be apologising even for asking. Maybe they should learn from the other members of staff on customer service.

The breakfast was wonderful! I was so impressed with the staff working on breakfast. They were so positive, and helpful. The hotel was sold out so the breakfast was very busy. The staff stayed on top of it and were so pleasant and helpful. I was so impressed with the staff at the front desk. They were trying to get many people registered and checked in.

Our room was not ready at 4:00 to check in. However, the hotel manager came and spoke with us and was very apologetic. We understand glitches, but the manager and staff were so professional and worked very hard to take care of us.

The complementary breakfast was fabulous. The free drinks at night was great. The staff was excellent they suggested places to go visit and see restaurants to eat in. They also Kaydet any need that we had. Our original room. There was a problem with an upgraded to a bigger and better room. I would recommend them again.

The only thing that we didn’t like is they had people trying to sell down the bar area other stays and to join the Hilton club, and they seem to be around every time we were in the hotel, eating breakfast or having cocktails. And they wanted to us to pay to park in a parking garage when we called up in Hilton themselves. They said they do not charge for parking when we get there. They told us they wanted us to pay $25 to park a day and we said no because we talk to Hilton and they do not charge for parking if we wanted to pay for parking would’ve stayed in the city of Charleston South Carolina Instead of staying 10 minutes away in Mount Pleasant

With two years of almost no breakfast meals offered at hotels we have stayed at, it was great to have such a large selection for breakfast, especially the made-to-order omelets. The happy-hour drinks were a big hit for us, also!

Our electronic key never worked with the garage parking gate. We had to push the call button at the gate to get the front desk to assist us.

It was very clean, well kept.

The restaurant has a very small menu and was out of numerous items. I felt it to be awkward that the waitress had to say more then once “let me see if we have that.” When she came back to the table to say you don’t have the items on the menu offered when it’s already so limited seemed to be hard for her also. One of my remotes didn’t work in my room for the television and the exhaust fan in the bathroom didn’t work. When I paid almost $500 for one night these little things add up. The breakfast was phenomenal which is “free” but dinner should be just as good or not better when your paying the prices you are. The bartender was phenomenal as well. Very personable and inviting.

The hotel it’s self is lovely, If your looking for quiet and relaxed and to stay in the hotel for food it’s perfect. We didn’t look on the map correctly as we didn’t realise to Charleston its self it’s a 14 minute drive which doesn’t seem a lot but if we knew we would of tried to stay closer to the town ( that’s our fault for not looking). The lady who spoke to us at reception was nice, helpful and approvable which is always good :) If your going to choose a hotel to see Charleston as it’s best, your better off staying closer into the town. But if you would like quiet, relaxed and don’t mind the drive then this hotel is perfect!! The view of the bridge from the front of the hotel is outstanding!! The rooms are big, beds were pretty comfy, well I slept great :)

The front/ car park/ side of building was a little confusing at first didn’t really understand what we were doing ( that could of just been us).

The staff was great. We had booked a "corner suite with harbor view". We checked in and discovered that the view of the harbor would require binoculars and a bendy straw as a neck or some advanced type of yoga where your head will pop off your shoulders so we went to the front desk to inquire if there was a mistake. The front desk manager was on duty and told us that's a frequent problem and he has tried to get the description changed. He immediately found another room for us and was incredibly kind the whole time.

The beds aren't super comfortable

The hotel was nice, clean and comfortable.

HATED the parking garage. (Which you pay $25 a night to use) The room key they give you to get in and out of the garage never worked. The gate to get out NEVER worked. We actually waited 15 minutes to get out the first night as there was a line of cars and no one could out. When we asked the staff employee standing at the gate to help us get out if it would be fixed soon her reply was "I don't know since we don't own it" The garage situation is why we would not come back here again.

Nice building. Nice location. Good facilities. Staff friendly and helpful. Decent breakfast.

Housekeeping not great. Requested twice and never came. Had to live with smelly trash in our room. Towels and room refreshments provided for only two despite our booking being for five. Also wasn't keen on breakfast plates etc being cleared from the table as we were eating; a little over zealous for my liking. Having to pay $25 a day for parking is also a bit of a cheek; there is no alternative.

We’ve stayed here 4 times now and chose it for our wedding headquarters. Clean, very pretty, great views, extensive breakfast, comfortable rooms, efficient service, much better price point than comparable hotels in Charleston, and it’s a nice drive over there bridge to town.

Some of the staff could have been friendlier. They were efficient and helpful, just not very warm and welcoming. Parking fee is too high - since there really is no other option, it’s essentially an add-on to the room rate.
