Sleep Inn Mount Pleasant - Charleston

Location was excellent. Renovations are underway; my room was very quiet, nice & comfortable. Woman who checked me in was very friendly. Office staff on checkout was also friendly.

Unfortunately there weren’t any coffee cups in the room, only plastic cups. I didn’t notice until the a.m. when I wanted coffee. The breakfast was minimal & the staff member wasn’t friendly. I was the only one for breakfast & she didn’t respond to my ‘good morning’ & when I couldn’t get any batter for a waffle , I asked her twice. She finally responded & said she would get it but then continued to wipe tables etc. I said I was a bit in a hurry & she finally refilled the container. Breakfast was minimal but sufficient.

very comfortable and stylish room. good price and very convenient to the Charleston historic district. within walking distance of a nice restaurant: Grace and Grit.

some disruption from renovations, but staff kept operations running smoothly. This was not the fault of the hotel, BUT VERY NOISY GUESTS: kids running up and down the hallway; guests arguing loudly in their room late at night; early departing (4 or 5 a.m.) guests talking loudly in the hall as they departed. PLEASE FOLKS, SHOW A LITTLE CONSIDERATION FOR OTHER GUESTS. YOU ARE NOT THE ONLY ONES IN THE HOTEL.

Free breakfast was good for the price, pool was good for the price, staff were very nice, location is good- close to town and the pretty bridge.

Our room was not cleaned on the first day, then when I called front desk to report, they said they would have it cleaned the next day. Needless to say, it wasn't cleaned that day either but the front desk clerk quickly Apologized amd brought us some needed items to accommodate our necessary items- towels,trash bags, etc. TV was hard to operate at first- would have been helpful to have a TV guide in room or at least a note telling us the location of the guide.

So convenient to all the main roads. Excellent location. The property is nice with plants and natural areas. The staff and comfort level were good with easy check in and out. We have a dog that was with us and it was easy taking her out being on the first floor. The room was cool during a very hot spell in the Charleston area. Easy to park and bring in luggage. Pretty quiet in and around our room. Many, Many positives.

There were some hairs in the shower that was there before we took showers but it didn’t seem dirty, per se. Just that it wasn’t rinsed thoroughly. The grout was broken up before stepping into the shower, right outside the shower, not uncommon in a wet area. Overall, it was nice and comfortable. It was a nice room and the staff were great and helpful. We would definitely stay there again.

It was everything we needed and nothing we didn’t. We were looking for a comfortable, clean, safe, centrally located room to sleep, shower and drive off to the Corey Smith show at Isle of Palms. This was just that. The breakfast was good. You could make mini waffles or they had a variety of pastries, fresh fruit, cold cereal, yogurts and instant oatmeal as well as juices and coffee. Staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and had several amenities such as hair dryer, iron, coffee maker, laundry bags, alarm clock and toiletries. The firm bed and fluffy pillows were comfortable. We didn’t use the pool, so I can’t speak to that.

Charleston is insanely expensive, ESPECIALLY if you have dogs. A hotel for a weekend under 1,000 dollars is almost unheard of. What’s crazy to me is I’m a person who can afford the 1,000 dollar weekends and have stayed at super luxury hotels before AND I liked the SleepInn better. Here’s why: - After traveling anywhere the last thing I want to do or be is overly formal, bright, enthusiastic, cheery to some person I’ve never met who is forcibly polite because the staffing standards for professionalism are through the roof. The front desk here saw I had multiple dogs, were extremely and genuinely nice (not forced to play nice for their company) was understanding about the puppy I have who was the rowdiest creature on earth upon arriving, and got me checked in and good to go in under 3 minutes. A luxury hotel? Everyone would be walking on eggshells because a puppy and a champagne room is a disaster (understandable, but if you’re a “dog-friendly” hotel BE a dog-friendly hotel). BONUS: I called ahead and she let my sister check in before me and get into the room after an extremely long and hectic traffic filled drive - parking!!! Staying at a luxury hotel downtown or in mount pleasant? You have to pay for valet (a cost I cannot excuse if the parking garage is right across the street) but also who wants to drive up into a parking garage, unload all of their stuff after a long trip, LUG IT ACROSS THE BUSY ROADS, with dogs?! All to check in to a lavish hotel (not worth the walk of shame but I refuse to drop 100 dollars on something I can do myself, able bodied, mobile and conscious about frivolous spending) Sleep Inn: drive up your car to the port in front of the hotel, leave it stalled in front of the open doors, unload your luggage and go park in their lot behind the building. - The aire of letting go. I am on the go 100% of the time, when I travel I expect to be able to relax.

Continued from above: POSITIVE FEEDBACK***: I don’t want to be sitting in a luxury hotel with dogs and think if my dog whines once I’m going to get a call from the front desk because everyone is so tightly wound they’re ready to complain at the drop of a pin. (I’ve heard absolute screamers in luxury hotels and no one says a word but a dog whine? It’s over for you.) Just removing that worry from my mind made the stay 100 times better. I could go on but you get the point and I’ve run out of room. Could not be more thrilled with this stay and will absolutely be returning to this specific location again and again and again and I travel to Charleston a LOT.

This place was our life saver as we came in the night before from Cleveland, Ohio. We were at a hotel in West Ashley which was quite noisy, toilet did not flush & individuals smoking marijuana in the outdoor terrace was unbelievable. I checked us out of there in the morning & found Sleep Inn Mt Pleasant.

The kindness, service & understanding was amazing. The manager Shauna, Stacy,Tina,Billy & Patrick were remarkable in their service & making sure our needs were met.

The room was clean and comfortable. It had a good size mini fridge (but no freezer compartment) and a microwave. We were on the first floor next to the pool, which was very convenient. The pool was small but clean and was not crowded. The breakfast was sufficient. We stayed during the week, and they just had cold food, breads and a waffle maker. I believe they have eggs and sausage on Saturday and Sunday.

Exceptionally friendly staff, very clean, breakfast buffet was very good, enough choices for everyone and good coffee. I had one issue that turned out to be my own user error. The pillows on the beds are square and hard like a bag of concrete until .... you unfold the pillow and shake it out into the pillowcase. Took me two nights to figure that out! Nice clean pool, great location for getting to everything easily.
