pretty area on the harbor

we didn’t know until it happened on Friday night, since I did not see anything mentioned when I booked it, but apparently the hotel hosts a party at the point on Fridays. our quiet and private beach was completely ruined Friday night and this is why we chose to stay at this resort- for a quiet, romantic getaway. The band playing was loud and a ton of people not part of the resort all over the beach, using the restrooms in the foyer, drunk. We couldn’t use our balcony unless we put up with listening to a loud, not very good, band and tons of people milling about. picture attached the rooms were decent, but could use fresh paint

The property was beautiful. Not too crowded, pools were nice, although it would’ve been nice to know which pool was heated. A short walk to the pier or boat dock with breathtaking views. 2 restaurants, a pool bar and marina shop. A free shuttle ride to downtown Charleston starting at 2pm.

The gate getting in and out. it didn’t work half the time. only 1 garage can in the room and the shower door was odd. A full size shower and it only had half a door. the bathroom floor ended up getting soaked.

We love the location. The view was amazing and so peaceful. They had live music Friday night and we watched from our balcony which was so fun!!! We were 5 minutes from Paiges okra grill (we HIGHLY recommend it) and 15 to 20 minutes from everything. We had loud neighbors above and beside us that woke us up Every morning! We will be back though!

Neighbors above and below us were very loud. They need to upgrade the TV. The room was clean for the most part but the floors could have been cleaner. The room isn't spacious at all. Also, booking said they'd price match if we f ok under the same room at a cheaper price and they never did even though I contacted th 3 times.

This place is a great get away. To just relax and enjoy Charleston S.C.. We will be back.

The only issue I had was with Booking.com. I was under the assumption I was getting a room with a view of the Harbor Booking.com showed the room as that as well, BUT WHEN WE GET THE THEIR THE ROOM IS SMALLER THAN THIS PICTURE AND IT WAS OF THE PARKING LOT. I was told that Bookimng.com did not even buy rooms over looking the HARBOR. The restaurant on site well was not the best . I had Luke warm shrimp and grits and my husband had a waffle like the ones you make your self at a hotel with 5 or 6 tiny blueberry's on it. We laughed about it but really if you going to charge and advertise your great restaurant then let it be great.

Beautiful property; beautiful view; three pools great for the kids; helpful and friendly staff; resort restaurants were great.

Only one small issue…the AC in our room stopped working and bathroom sliding door got stuck however we were moved to another room in minutes and the property managers and maintenance personnel were very helpful.

It's a beautiful location with great extras. The staff was fantastic, especially housekeeping. It has beautiful pools , fire pits and outdoor spaces. A shuttle is offered to Charlestown and back and has a water taxi ( not free but reasonable) that crosses the bay. It has a great tourist attraction within walking distance , the Yorktown. We had housekeeping daily, which is not a given anymore. It was pet friendly although we did not have a pet. Musical events and weddings also happen at the resort plus other activities. The dining in the area is great with many choices..

Parking was tight, especially the nights with events. The card system with the gate getting in and out of the parking lot was terrible just because it was not explained well. Kindness of other guest showing us how to use room key to also get in and out of parking saved us, and we did the same for other guest in that same confusing spot. The prices were outrageous, but the resort is so beautiful. The resort fees and taxes are high too. This was out third and probably last time here because we are elderly and can't afford it.

The view from our room was wonderful, the beds were very comfortable, the decor in our room and in the hotel in general was very nice. The room was nicely updated to current standards of what would be expected for a hotel in this price range. It was too cold to take advantage of all of the outdoor spaces but the pools and marina look like great places to relax and spend time.

We waited a long time for our to-go food order at the bar. There was another guest who placed a to-go food order right after us. The bartender comp'd his order due to his long wait but did not offer us the same deal. That seemed a little unfair. Our room was really small. The two queen beds and the large TV cabinet fill the entire room. It's pretty and worked fine for our one-night stay but if we had been staying any longer, it would have been uncomfortable.

The breakfast at the restaurant next door was fine although the menu was limited. It would be nice to have a small free continental breakfast in the hotel lobby, maybe just muffins, juice etc for the price of the room.

Lobby coffee should have extended hours. We went down a few times in the mid-afternoon and everything was shut down.

LOCATION. Great value. Loved the pools and hot tub. Great resort feel. Loved housekeeping actually came to room with towels and made beds. Loved the jazz tub.

Shuttle services needs more drivers. Love the service but more frequent drivers or bigger vans. The keys were hard to use didnt open doors without having to really mess with it. Gates were not working correctly when we were there. Hotel rooms need some updating but were clean. Maybe some form or breakfast since only option for breakfast was fish house. Even if for a price maybe order something small Ala cart instead of going down for breakfast. Better coffee bar in lobby more options. All in all though it was a great hotel and we would love to come back.

Good breakfast...limited choices...expensive for breakfast.

We tried to eat at the Fish House on TWO separate occasions..making reservations early and were told they could not accommodate us bc of weddings scheduled. Overbooking and unable to accommodate hotel guests is poor planning and bad for business.
