Charming old style building nestled in a winery. Just the definition of a 'getaway'. so relaxing and quiet. Perfect anniversary trip. Beds were so comfy too. I appreciate that breakfast had high quality options for a continental breakfast. Would love to visit again.

Some of the rooms I noticed had cracked tile on the bathroom floors that would move when walked on them. It would also be beneficial to have a mini fridges in the rooms so you feel like you can take any restaurant leftovers or drinks back to your hotel. Then maybe have a couple open microwaves in the kitchen area or something if you’d like to heat it up later.

Great breakfast! We checked in after a long day at Busch Gardens and the staff were so welcoming. When we needed extra assistance, the staff were extremely helpful and friendly (despite it being the end of a very long day for them as well)! The large tub in our suite was a wonderful experience after so much walking.

I would love to be able to visit the winery, but it is always closed by the time we get to the hotel (and doesn't open until after check-out time the next day). Shifting the hours to stay open later in the evening would be an excellent addition.

It was clean, quiet, and had several things for us to do.

The property was absolutely beautiful, from the drive in, passing the rows and rows of grape vines, to pulling up at an elaborately reimagined English countryside manor house. Check in was lovely, the front desk service manager helped us with our paperwork, explained our amenities with exhausting enthusiasm and handed us our key, yes an ACTUAL key. The room was breathtaking and we couldn’t be happier with it. The bathroom was beautifully appointed with danty features and lush bathrobes. Walking around the property we saw the library with all kinds of books, comfy lounge chairs, game tables and puzzles for the kids. The breakfast dining area was absolutely wonderful. I didn’t expect to be served on a table with a cloth covering, porcelain coffee cups, danishes, pastries, eggs and fresh fruit. We didn’t want to leave, unfortunately we could only stay one night but it was well worth the money we spent, which was very reasonable for a suite like this. We will definitely stay again!

No negatives, everything was wonderful

If you are tired of every hotel looking and feeling the same - be that a 5-star Hilton or a 3-star Comfort Inn- then this place is for you! A beautful and unique hotel, in the midst of a vineyard, with each room decorated differently, along European regional themes (Bavaria, Bohemia, Scandinavia, Wales et cetera). Breakfast was excellent...fresh quiche, a very extensive buffet...and the complementary wine tasting at the adjacent winery was a lovely bonus. We will be back - loved it here.

Our room was a bit noisy until after midnight - hopefully a rare event.

The grounds are lovely to walk, especially in the morning. The breakfast is so nice and the dining area has a great view of the pool. We loved getting a massage on the property it was the best!

We wish the menu of the restaurant on sight had a larger selection and we wish the hotel had a bar with drinks and appetizers for the evening. It would be nice not to have to leave the hotel because it is truly lovely!

1. Hospitality- very nice welcome at check in. Lovely front desk staff. 2. Excellent strong lighting particularly in the bathroom. We had Ardennes room in subroof so the bedroom was not as bright. 3. Beautiful and interesting venue and landscape with ''Black Forest" planted by owner and large, working vineyard. 4. Captivating back story about owner and establishment if the vineyard and subsequently the guest house/ hotel. 5.Breakfast was ideal for me and likely other Europeans- very light, no artificial foods: mix of sliced melon, boiled egg, very good croissant and quiche. Only downside was lack of unflavored yogurt. The coffee was Lavazza. Very pleased overall.

Stronger lighting in bedroom would have been nice. Small oriental rug in bedroom looked tired and uncared for; sheets were not pressed.

The location is awesome, quiet and surrounded by vineyards. Everything is visually appealing. The continental breakfast had a small selection of very good pastries, fresh fruit and yoghurt.

There was no tea available either in the room or at breakfast. I don't count the one variety of decaf as real tea. The staff said it was "on order" but apparently management prioritized sticking to their particular brand above accommodating morning tea drinkers, when a quick trip to a grocery would have done. They were happy to provide hot water at breakfast for the tea that I supplied.

beautiful setting on a winery with such beauty it is breathtaking. the building was designed to appear as old as Colonial Williamsburg homes and it is done perfectly, down to the creaking wood floors.

Room 4, Cornwall room, GORGEOUS however the room above sounds like part of us. Very noisy, hear every little thing from using the bathroom to flushing and showering, conversations, every foot step, suitcases moving, keys falling to floor, etc. One horrible downfall to staying here. We got very little sleep due to the noise above.

beautiful rooms, great amenities, excellent location that feels like you are out in the country, but still within 10 min drive of most things. staff were amazing, super helpful, and friendly. The grounds are beautiful and in very close proximity to the Williamsburg Winery.

outdoor pool and patio area could use a little improving. we were really excited about this, but there were a lot of bugs and a yellow jacket nest nearby, granted, it was July in Virginia.
