Cedars of Williamsburg Bed & Breakfast

The location was great- very close to Colonial Williamsburg and easy to find. The breakfasts were exceptionally good- not really any choices to be made, but what was selected for you was first-rate and delicious. Everyone that worked there was super-friendly and helpful.

We were not made aware that our reserved room was on the third floor (and no elevator). My wife has an extremely difficult time getting up stairs, and I would have changed the reservation if I had known what was in store for her. Also, I was surprised to learn upon arrival that there is no television in our room, only in a common room on the main floor.

The best part of Cedars of Williamsburg are the host, Alex, and his sidekick, Leroy. Alex’s jokes every morning made me laugh. He rivals any tv talk show comedian. Leroy is friendly, gregarious, welcoming and thoughtful. The rooms, decorated in colonial style furnishings, are very attractive. The B & B is so close to William and Mary campus that we easily dropped off our incoming freshman there. Then we could explore the campus without having to drive our car. Breakfasts were delicious! Different every morning for our 3 day stay. Thank you for a delightful visit!

The bathroom for our suite was very small.

We enjoyed two breakfasts during our stay. Each was wonderful. Our daughter loved the second in particular - egg over a blend of spinach, tomato and onion. Our queen suite worked well for our family, as we were traveling with our adult daughter. Located near choice restaurants, breweries, Jamestown Settlement and Historic Jamestowne made this an ideal place for us. Special thanks to Alex and Leroy for their southern hospitality and advice for making our stay memorable.

The location is excellent, right across the street from the William and Mary campus and a short walk from Colonial Williamsburg. The room was clean and comfortable (AC and wifi were good even though this is an older property). The breakfast was delicious (spinach frittata and a small salad along with coffee, tea, and juice). Alex provided entertainment as we ate and made a nice effort to draw in all the guests present at breakfast (although be warned you might be on the receiving end of some good-natured ribbing from him). Alex also was very responsive, including coming over immediately when we had a minor mix-up with a room key for a late (7 PM) check-in. The parking area was a bit tight but adequate for the number of guests (about 10-11 rooms total). We would stay here again.

We didn't have any real difficulties. The late check-in key mixup was due to another guest's error, not a problem with the property.

Alex made a great effort to ensure our pleasant experience and provided. Very delicious breakfast each morning, a gourmet treat. The owners recently purchased the B&B so their journey to transform it from nice to exceptional has just begun - but they are off to a promising start. This B&B is across the street, literally, from William and Mary College and is a few minutes walk from several interesting, moderately priced restaurants.

We slept in the William Lee room. There was a furnace unit in a closet that was loud enough to wake us whenever it turned on. I wished there was a velveteen lining inside the furnace closet door to absorb or dampen the sound.

Breakfast was delicious with dietary restrictions respected and big portions. Sweet lady helping out was thoughtful and courteous. Beds were Very comfortable! Quaint and felt private but great location and walkable area.

Needs more parking and possibly more noticeable signage to keep folks from passing it by or using incorrect driveway. Maybe more dining area and a lil more upkeep to grounds/flowers.

Everything!! Bed was comfortable; room was very clean and the breakfast was fabulous & healthy. It is very conveniently located to downtown and across the street from William & Mary. Alex and LeRoy were fabulous and were great to talk to and they do try to accommodate your every need.

Would have liked to have a happy hour like we have seen at other B&Bs. Good way to meet the other guests.

Breakfast was excellent. The property and the room was very clean and fresh towels were provided every day. The hospitality was nice, we enjoyed the service from both the owner and Leroy. Excellent free Paring on the premises.

The room (Martha Washington) was somewhat small, and also the bathroom. This is however hard to change. We would look for a larger room in the property.

As soon as you see the B&B you know you’re in for a treat! It’s beautiful historic appeal is something to see. It’s like you walked back into history with the beautiful colonial style brick home.

It is a three story colonial style home, so if your room is not located on the first floor, be prepared to walk up a good flight of wooden stairs. I loved everything about this place, so it didn’t bother me a bit!

Our host,Leroy, was so welcoming and helpful with our bags, house tour, local places of interest, great restaurants and serving breakfast! The food was delicious and the bed slept great. Of course it could have been we were so tired from all the wonderful sights and food that sleeping was no problem. The location was great for walking. Would definitely come again the the Cedars. I am 71, so the walk way required my attention more than a younger person. The bricks and stones on the walk and driveway were a little uneven; but I just watched my step! Other than that I have no complaints.
