When we were there, it was still called the Light Hotel. Without a doubt one of the best experiences in recent years. When we arrived they were friendly and compassionate. After a long flight, they gave us something to drink and a snack. "Just sit back and relax. We'll take care of the paperwork." No stress. Perfect. The genuine smiles and friendliness were great. There was some construction work, but they had scheduled short time windows for that in which they worked. Very friendly and focused on you as a visitor. Perfect breakfast. But beware: it can be crowded.

Our room was a bit dusty in the corners.

Hotel has a good location on the border of the old quarter so we could walk to all sightseeing spots from the hotel. Breakfast was great with many dishes to choose from in the buffet. People on reception are very friendly and speak English fluently, so communication was easy. Lily on reception organized for us a trip to Ha Long Bay which we enjoyed a lot. I had to travel to/from airport few times because my companion was on a different plane. Traveling from the airport via a taxi organized by the hotel was much more convenient for me than using Grab (local Uber) because parking area in the airport is somewhat complex and hectic.

Our other hotel cancelled our reservation the day we were due to stay, but in hindsight, a good thing they did, as our stay at the Champton was brilliant! The staff were attentive, helpful and willing to move mountains to accommodate. The room was larger than expected, and had everything you needed. The bar and restaurant were also good for the size of the hotel and everything you want for a city break. The location was also great, really central and lots around and easy to get places. Would recommend!

Doors could be more soundproofed as there were some really noisy and inconsiderate other guests, but not a fault of the hotel at all, just feedback as it would be an easy fix (I hope)! This is a new revamped hotel and it is doing really well.

Great location, value and spotless rooms - my whole stay was as smooth as it goes. This was mostly due to the great staff that are always around for everything you may need. Special thanks to front desk worker, Rachel (If I remembered the name correctly) whose approach and behavior is what you can see only at the best 5 star hotels. All together - highly recommended!

The staff was very friendly, the room very clean, the food felt qualitative, reasonable price, and I had a lot more confidence in it than from the street restaurants. I was there during Lunar New year but still everything was running smoothly. That was a great experience. I tried several hotels in hanoi and this was the best (even compared to more expensive ones).

The room, hotel, and staff were perfect. One downside was that the pool was cold (but after being in it for a few minutes, it's okay) and a bit too small to swim properly. I think the pool is heated at certain times of the year, but I'm not sure.

We loved our stay here - the location is great with lots of great restaurants and bars in walking distance. The staff are truly amazing. They go above and beyond for you and are so kind and friendly. The room was very clean and the bed was really comfortable. Perfect for a city break when you are out and about all day.

Unfortunately the pool was closed for cleaning before summer season starts but it wasn't an issue for us as it wasn't super hot when we were there. We would definitely come back here.

this property was about $10 more then the previous hotel we stayed in in Hanoi before heading out to Ha Long Bay (unfortunately this hotel did not show up in our search otherwise we would have stayed here) the previous hotel was s..t, pay the extra and stay here, everything was very good, very clean, comfy bed, good size room with a window, helpful and friendly staff, great breakfast , great food in the on site restaurant, fab stay 😀

Bella and Giji at the reception were exceptionally helpful, providing us with great directions, tips on where to find delicious food (especially Bahn Mi), and excellent shopping options. Their warmth and politeness set the tone for a wonderful stay. The room was spotless and very comfortable, offering a great respite after a day of exploring the vibrant city. The breakfast options were impressive, catering to both non-vegetarian and vegetarian preferences, ensuring a satisfying start to each day. The hotel's location is incredibly convenient, within walking distance of various markets, the famous Railway Street, and the big church. This made it easy to immerse ourselves in the local culture and sights without needing to travel far. A special touch that truly stood out was the little gift we received as a thank you for staying with them—something we haven't encountered at any other hotel. It was a delightful and memorable gesture that added to the overall exceptional experience. I highly recommend The Light Hotel for anyone visiting Hanoi. Probably one of the best breakfast buffet we had in South East Asia during 4 months with lots of vegetarian options. The staff is friendly and attentive helping with booking tickets, free luggage storage and bathroom use after checkout. The room was tidy and clean, the mattress very comfortable. The WiFi was fast and reliable.

The pool area is very small with limited space and only 2 sunbeds. The breakfast room can only be reached by stairway, so accessibility for disabled persons is limited.
