Breakfast was excellent and the staff were both friendly and helpful.

Although the room was furnished to accommodate a wheelchair user and a carer, it could have been provided with a second occasional chair as we had no need for wheelchair space. In addition, a set of large print instructions for the shower controls would have been helpful. (As I have poor vision for reading, normal instructions with fine print would have been useless.) kAnd as it was, I had to figure out how the various controls worked - particularly when it came to the important matter of temperature control where the coloured markings on the controls were almost impossible to see.

Amazing location. Right in the heart of the old town and steps from the Royal Mile. During festival time we were in the midst of all the fun but with space to retreat to. The room was very comfortable and quiet. Staff were incredibly kind and helpful. Very clean room and an amazing breakfast.

The room was pricey. Room was also quite far from the front door (long corridors and two elevators) which would have been good to know. Wifi didn’t work on the first day but started working on the second but didn’t affect us. Older style tv no Netflix etc.

The location was excellent as we were there in August for the Edinburgh Military Tattoo and the Fringe Festival. The staff was outstanding. Very close to the Edinburg Castle, Royal Mile and all the historic buildings! Loved this area!

Because of the hilly terrain of Edinburgh and the fact that this was a remodeled old building, there are many levels to this hotel. Difficult to find your hotel room. Only learned how to get there cause the front desk receptionist walked us there.

our room had a chair with a nasty stain on it. It was removed but we had to ask for a replacement before being given another chair. When we checked in we were given a QR code to access the in room service menu but when we tried to use it, it wouldn’t accept our room number. We phoned to reception and were only told at that point that it was an extra £20 to use the service. This was not made clear when we checked in and given the QR code.

Staff were friendly and helpful, particularly Aggy and Stephen. The room was clean and well appointed. Right next to the Royal Mile, it’s very convenient.

Note that it is quite a large hotel and some rooms are quite a walk from the lift, particularly if you are placed in the building extension next door. I did request a room on a lower floor of the main building however this was overlooked at check in so I had to be moved. I agreed to a smaller room (King to Double, at no refund). This unfortunately resulted in a triple charge that hasn’t been resolved 5 days later so do keep an eye on your bank statement. I would recommend using a credit rather than debit card as their system is set up for pre-authorization which is easier to reverse on a credit card.

I cannot thank the team enough for such an amazing stay here. We were on our honeymoon and on arrival we were given a bottle of fizz and a lovely card wishing us well and congratulations and a room upgrade. We felt very special and looked after. The customer service continued to be brilliant when my husband twisted his ankle and at 2:30 in the morning I was looking for ice. The team could not do enough for me to help. This happened again at breakfast I requested some.ice and in no time at all it was with me and a bag to make a ice pack for husbands ankle. The breakfast was a buffet style continental with  wide range of choice including good gluten free optiona. It was good quality food and we enjoyed it even more as they made sure we were sat near the food so that stairs wouldn't be a problem for us. Great way to start the day. The room was wonderful and bed very comfy. Shower facilities were new and water pressure great. I cannot fault this hotel at all and the stay was most pleasant and enjoyable. Ita location is so useful just being off the royal mile and with  car park a short walk away it was absolutely ideal. I would definately stay here again when we visit Edinburgh again. Thank you thank you thank you!

Location was very good. Great for walking to the castle and other local attractions.Breakfast both mornings was not very hot I don’t think the hot plates are enough for all that food. There was a lot of choice of food though. I probably wouldn’t eat in the Marco Pierre restaurant again either it didn’t live up to my expectations. Finally when guests are staying more than one night there needs to be tea and coffe to reflect that.

The staff were fantastic throughout the stay! The room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was value for money as well. The Hilton cannot be in a better position linking you to the royal mile on one side leading to the castle and on the other side to the new town and Princes street. Perfect for our Hogmanay stay

I do think that parking should be available for hotel guests, despite the reduced price available at Waverley Station car park it was a bit inconvenient.

Large room with a great view of the Royal Mile. Bathroom had shower and bathtub which was nice after active days hiking in the area. Nice hot breakfast. We made out well booking 6 months in advance and got an incredible price.

Registration of charges to room were haphazard. Since we were leaving early, I wanted to close out my bill the night before and was told there was 2 breakfasts on the account. In the morning, there was 3 plus a charge from the bar that had been paid in person. That was removed with no argument but if I had done quick checkout and not checked the account again in the morning, I would have been double charged for that.

We requested a quiet room it was really quiet, but it meant it was at one end of the hotel, Breakfast included was very good. Reception staff and bar were really good. We were going to the fringe events, and this was probably the best location we have ever had, being on the royal mile

Room service was poor, and we had to chase the on several occasions, the toilet dd not flush properly and the room was not serviced on several occasions meaning bed not made or tea replaced, bathroom had been tidied
