Couldn’t ask for a better room! It was immaculate and spacious, Bed was huge and TV was also a good size. The bathroom was very clean, not a spec of dust in sight.

Though we didn’t touch the air con, it was very noisy from the vent which kept us up most of the night. When it came to checking out, the staff on the front desk didn’t acknowledge us. The male snatched the key card out of my hand and stuck their head back in the computer! A smile and a “hope you enjoyed your stay” or just a simple “bye” goes a long way!

Everything. Really nothing to complain about. Location very good for what we needed, staff super helpful especially the girl in the reception, 100% customer care. Very spacious and well equipped room, clean, comfortable, plenty spaces in the car park. Breakfast OK, many options and choices. Positively surprised, especially that British hotels don't usually give you any choice for breakfast apart from Full British one.

The WiFi didn't work on my phone, tried many times but without success. One little thing about breakfast. Everything was super but I would like to see more variety of bread. Only toast which is not good enough for such a level of hotel quality.

The room was spotlessly clean; breakfast was delicious, plenty of choice and the staff in the dining area were extremely attentive and very, very pleasant. The evening meal was good too, again, lots of choice. The reception staff, Roy and Dana were very helpful at all times and dealt with all clients in a professional but friendly way.

Our daughter and grandson loved the swimming pool - available all day and well used by families and by us, when we arrived, before we set off for our day out and again when we got back, for a relaxing dip. What a shame Holiday Inn are closing the pool! Surely they are big enough to revamp the facility - maybe with a spa etc.. Even if this pool is costly, it’s a great facility and should be available - there’s no beach or any other leisure facility for children at the hotel - keep the pool! That news was the only bad thing!

Having previously stayed at this hotel a few years ago when it was The Derbyshire, we was already familiar with the great facilities this hotel boasts. BUT!! This hotel is considerably better than before! So much more modern and brighter. This hotel went above and beyond to ensure myself and my partner had a great stay. We was celebrating my partners birthday and they kindly left a card with a lovely message and 2 kit kats to enjoy. They also arranged for the bed to be decorated with towel swans and rose petals at such late notice! Absolutely amazing staff, they couldn't do enough! Even as they were closing the bar they still rustled us up some huge and tasty Tuna sarnies for a late night snack! Nothing was too much trouble for them. Room was so spacious and clean. Bed was super comfy! We can't wait to come back!!

As others have said, the leisure area is super, pool , jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. . Very friendly staff , some a bit young and inexperienced ( thanks Brexiteers) . Spacious room, recently refurbished, good shower , a fridge ( in one room but not the other?) Top room tip "deluxe" room means a refurbished one , I think standard wouldn't be so good Fabulous breakfast options , the whole range of continental and hot, really attentive lady on duty for breakfast. Free parking , Very close to the retail outlet park . We had paid for evening meal to be included and it was 3 courses . Excellent value .

As others have mentioned, the service at evening meal was very slow, we sat down at 7.30pm and didn't get away until 9.45pm !! Also some of the food was pretty cold and needed to be sent back but no quibbles about that. Also my friend had the cheeseboard and the celery and grapes were warm !

Staff were very friendly. All greeted you with a smile on their face. Nice area to drink and eat. Nice pool area Nice selection for breakfast

The only downside to the whole experience was the mattress on the bed. It was like sleeping on a board. Was unable to sleep all night. You had the option to have a soft or hard pillow. A shame you couldn't do the same with the mattress!! Also a personal choice but would have liked more options on the coffee machine at breakfast eg. Latte, cappuccino

Comfortable, clean rooms. Pleasant, helpful staff who appeared hard working. Nothing too much trouble. Good breakfast and dinner. Good location to visit national trust property, and surrounding attractions/shopping. Good value.

We have stayed here before several years ago before the refurbishment. We didn’t like the changes to the public areas i.e. that the reception/bar/restaurant areas are open plan. The bar was not a comfortable cosy area for pre/post dinner drinks. When the automatic hotel doors opened the chill February air made the area draughty. When the restaurant was busy it became noisy causing it to feel like a canteen. We would describe the whole area as soulless. The leisure facilities were tired and a bit grubby.

The breakfast food was plentiful and delicious. The whole place was great.

Overall it was a lovely place. We enjoyed our short time there. The only issue we had was at breakfast when we queued to be seated they showed us to a table then we queued up to get our food only to find some other couple had just walked in and sat right down at our table. Others in the queue noticed this had happened to they too. When i went over to the matrade, instead of asking the couple to move they just relocated us elsewhere. Not the end of the world but not really the correct way to deal with it. That aside, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and will definitely stay there again in future 😃

Fantastic hotel. Easy to find as just off junction 28. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. No matter who they were from cleaners to maintenance. Our room came with a massive flat screen tv with facilities to watch films from your mobile or laptop. Excellent leisure facilities which were free to use 😀 Food was delicious 😋 Would definitely recommend staying here 👍👍👍👍👍 There is a lovely designer retail centre just 4 mins drive away which is worth a visit. If you don't fancy eating at the hotel there's quite a few lovely pubs nearby.

There was nothing that we didn't like

I enjoyed most everything, comfortable clean room, nice shower, good food, friendly staff.

I went to the gym and it was overcrowded with people that weren't guests at the hotel, I believe they were local people using the gym. Nothing against that but the amount of people, the constant shouting, hanging around having conversations sitting in the machines and just spending time was startling, to say the least. Only me and a man who came later were guests of the hotel, the other 20 people were local people using the gym as the local social club. Not nice, extremely crowded, terribly noisy, not even safe.
