A&O Wien Hauptbahnhof

Really like the location of the hostel, it located 5 minutes away by walk from main train and bus station. So you can quickly go to the city center or anywhere else.

When I finally checked-in (it was already 17:00 ‘cause check-in starts from 15:00, come on, it’s too late…) I came to the room and only 2 beds had linen on, so I had to put my linen by myself, BUT cause of no numeration on the beds, my bed was taken by other guest, so I had to put the linen once again. When I came back to the hostel already at night, someone once again took my bed. You know, it’s not the best thing to look for linen to put on your bed, when people are already sleeping. And why do I need to make someone’s work if I already paid for that…

The main reason for choosing this hostel was its close proximity to the train station, and it proved to be incredibly helpful for our trip to Vienna. Whether traveling between Prague and Vienna or Vienna and Salzburg, this hostel spared us worries about inner-city transportation when setting out as early as six in the morning. The hostel is about a ten-minute walk from the subway station, and there's a supermarket nearby. The facilities are comprehensive, and the management is well-organized. They offer a paid breakfast and have luggage storage facilities. I recommend this hostel for budget-conscious travelers.

Perfect location very close to the Vienna main train station. Our room had everything we needed for a one night stay. The staff was friendly and helpfull. Definitelly a very good value for the money.

The online check-in was chaotic, it did not work on the webside, we needed to download the app. And finally, we needed to fill the paper at the reception anyway. The bunk bed did a strange periodical silent sounds the whole night - there is some kind of an electronic device to charge your phone (or what?) connected to the bed that probably made it. It was not loud but still disturbing.

Loved proximity to Vienna main train station. *** it's behind Billa supermarket, in a wide laneway. Bit confusing, but Google it properly. Even taxi drivers can't find it! Humans check you in! I had large family room, 2 single beds together, 2 kids bunkbeds. Beds super comfortable, duvets high quality. (Small single bed rooms cause me claustrophobia. Did it once at another hotel - never again) Very pleasant warm room. Clean shower, toilet. Hair-dryer. Great handwash, body wash. Common room, heaps of vending machines, paid coffee machines. Nice atmosphere. Billa supermarket behind this hostel, you just need to walk 5min around the building to find Billa entrance. I would stay again if prices are low. Unlike another place I stayed at up the road this doesn't have 'shady-looking' characters staying or lurking in the corridors.

It's a hostel, so noisy at times. Lighting was terrible, bedside lamps would fix this. Lots steps to climb from the street to the entrance. Once inside, there are a few lifts. They do have a 'wheelchair lift' outside don't know if it's operational- but a staff has to unlock it to use. I didn't use it. Room needs day transparent curtains, only has dark ones. Tiny TV on wall which I didn't use.

Clean room and very close to the central train station.

Very messy in the halls, seams that the hotel has to much people (most of them kids) staying and not enough staff to clean after them. A lot of kids just set on the hall floor and left a lot of mess around.

Room and private bathroom facilities were excellent. Staff were helpful and very friendly. Luggage room convenient and breakfast adequate.

The sign at the end of the back lane it is situated on is misleading and confusing. The hostel front door is not located at the advertised address of 11 Sonnwendgasse! The door is in a small street to the rere of Sonnwendgasse. The trees at the fork in the road hide the sign and front entrance of the hostel! Please put accurate directions on your website. I arrived in the dark and spent 30 minutes on Sonnwendgasse trying to locate your fabulous hostel!

It's great for the short stay. It's situated in 5 minutes by foot from Wien Hauptbahnhof. 24 h reception. There are all things you need in the room. Breakfast is good. There is a coffee machine on reception, so for 2 Euro, you can have your coffee any time and hot water free of pay. The furniture is rather new. You can put your luggage in the luggage room before check-in and after check-out.

Check-in is better to do on reception, not in the app. I checked in in the app and waited for 15 minutes when my room had been cleaned. The water in the shower did not drain.

Excellent value for money. A great central location next to Wien Hbf (3 minutes walk), which was excellent for me as I had a very early flight the next morning. Special compliment to the staff working there. Outstanding were in particular 2 people there: Artur who greatly helped me to store my valuables in a (paid by the hostel) locker when there were maintenance activities for the storage room. John, who is full of enthusiasm and passionate about the hostel and ever impriving its service and hospitality. He greatly helped with very helpful information for me on my way to the train station the next morning and even offered me coffee from the hostel. These are people that make a big difference and make you feel very welcome!

The rooms are clean and spacious, I had a double room, single occupancy and was happy with it. The rooms are en-suite, so they’re suited even from travellers worried about hostel-style shared bathrooms. The location at Wien Hbf is great for quick check-in after arrival and is within walking distance from the Belvedere gardens from which you then get to the city centre easily. Alternatively, the metro and tram can take you to the more remote parts of Vienna.

I would appreciate a small hand towel in addition to the large one. Some travellers might not like that the cleaning lady will only take out the bin and you have to be careful to leave the towels on the floor it you want them changed.

The room exceeded our expectations. It was spacious, well-furnished, and thoughtfully designed for comfort. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep. This hostel offered a unique and tech-savvy experience where minimal interaction with staff was required. Check-in and check-out were seamless, with a self-service kiosk for card issuance and payment using Apple Pay. This modern approach to guest handling was efficient and greatly appreciated. This additional information highlights the hostel's innovative use of technology for guest convenience and efficiency during the stay.

One downside of the stay was the absence of basic amenities like towels and soap/shampoo in the washroom. It required me to bring my own, which was a bit inconvenient. Additionally, the fact that earplugs were sold separately was unexpected and not in line with the typical complimentary offerings in most hostels.
