Hotel Pension Baron am Schottentor

The hotel is quite old with lots of period features, which we liked. Wood panelled walls and high ceilings. Creaky wooden staircase. Good choice of pubs, restaurants and cafés close by. A short walk into the centre. Tram stop outside the door and underground stop five minutes walk away. 30 minutes by public transport to airport. The room was clean and pleasant and serviced every day. Despite being adjacent to a very busy road the secondary glazing made it very quiet. The bathroom (room 205) had just been renovated and was clean and modern. Receptionist was friendly and helpful. A mini fridge in the room was a bonus

Access to the lift is restricted and involves climbing a staircase to the bottom stop and does not reach both floors of the hotel. Not ideal for those with mobility issues

The rooms were comfortable and the hotel was in a great location

No lift to the second floor so was a struggle getting the suitcases up the stairs

our room view was amazing, hotel's location is perfect, near to everywhere and close to every location in wien, on the desk; denis and aya were very hepful to us in every trouble, they re so polite and smiley👍,they feeled us like at our home, i especially thank to them all..And finally i paid cash on the first day of our journey. i hope there wont be a mistake or a problem about second time payment from the booking app or bank account😂

our room was a little bit small, and i think that our bad was seperated 2 persons bed ..but totaly these are so normal for the historical places like that..and there should be climas in the room for the hot days in summer (just for suggestion🤗)

The bed was very comfortable, there was a fan so it helped us stay cool along with an open window. The bathroom was clean and very nice. The receptionist were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is within walking distance to a lot of attractions in Vienna so we barely had to commute anywhere. The wifi was also very good.

Those who are used to having air-conditioning in the peak of summer may find it hard but the fan does a lot to help the room feel cool. There is a lift to get from the ground floor of the building to the reception, however you do need to suitcases up a set of stairs to get to your room. The room isn't as spacious but has everything you need (table, chair, closet and fan).

The view from the balcony was amazing, everything was near to this hote.l You have a lot of different transportation in front of the hotel. Immediately beside the hotel you can buy coffee and breakfast. We are grateful to the personnel of this hotel because they explained to us how to and where to park with our car it was the best deal for one day in Otto wagner parking garage so many thanks to the personnel of this hotel.

if you want to sleep with an open balcony because of fresh air the only bad thing is that you can hear the noise from cars and buses and everything that passes under your balcony because you are on the main road. That's the only bad thing everything else was perfect

The hotel was in easy distance of the tube, trams and buses and there were lots of places to eat and drink around the location. The bathroom was exceptionally clean and the room was spacious and comfortable. I was also grateful that the windows were sufficiently soundproofed to keep out the noise of traffic. It was great value for money!

As others have mentioned, there are no tea making facilities but there are lots of coffee shops nearby. The fan wasn’t very powerful so cooling the room down in the evening was quite difficult. It would have been good to have a double bed rather than two single beds pushed together. I also wondered why the lift didn’t seem to go to the ground floor?

The room was a good size and clean, and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was clean, lots of hot water, and the location was good close to metro, tram and within walking distance of most of the main tourist attractions. There was also a good variety of restaurants and cafes nearby as well. The availability of a mini fridge in the room was also nice.

Reception is only available 9-5pm, while this was fine for my stay and not an issue, it’s something other guest should be aware of. Also, as there is a tram and metro station right outside, it can be a little loud late at night and first thing in the morning.

The room was very large, bright and very clean; the largest room we have had in Europe. Location is excellent, right near Schottentor tram station and an easy walk to a main shopping precinct. The pub across the road is excellent along with the coffee/bagel shop next door. Staff were friendly and organised an airport transfer at a very reasonable cost.

Access was a little difficult. The hotel is located on the first floor, within a building shared with other businesses and perhaps apartments. There was a flight of stairs to get to the lift to the hotel and then our room, was up one more flight of stairs once we got there. The foyer and shared spaces are very, very dated. It was completely opposite to the room we then stayed in.

This place is awesome, the room is big and comfortable, it looks the same as the pictures and the staff is very friendly. This place is located city Centre there are bars a restaurants from a walking distance.

We didn't like only one thing and is that the bathroom curtain was not so clean you could see it was a little dirty at the bottom.

The rooms were very clean and tidy. The location of the hotel was great, right opposite the Votive Church and a short walk to the tram station. Also the hop on hop off bus stop was right outside the Votive Church which was very handy. We had a very nice restaurant across the road to have breakfast or a nightcap!

The hotel was up quite a few steps and the lift didn’t go down to ground level so you had to haul your cases up a few steps. The staff weren’t particularly helpful the safe in our room didn’t work and after asking a couple of times it never did get repaired.
