Hotel Pension Baronesse

Nice location in Vienna’s city center with easy access to almost anywhere in Vienna. Helpful staff.

The entrance stairs dont have place for wheelchair or carriage. Reception is closed at nights and opens at 8 am. Old doors with manual keys.

The room was great, I liked location and a house. Big room with royal interior, bed was very comfortable , I had a small fridge and comfortable bathroom. Price was good for this service. Thank you.

The front door to the room was a bit broken

The hotel was very lovely and very good value for money. The reception staff were extremely friendly and tried their best to help. We asked if we could drop off our luggage, and they said they would either have facilities for us or we could check-in earlier if our room was ready. The room was very spacious. We had a room for 3 people and we had one large double bed and one proper single bed which was very comfortable. Each person had their own duvet and it was also no problem to ask for another one. There was also no kettle in the room, but we received one straight away when we asked for it. Our room also had a balcony which was very nice. Although the room faced a street, it was very quiet with just the occassional tram passing by. The bathroom was spacious and had a nice shower. Our room had comfortable chairs and one large table with a fridge underneath and one small round table. You have to pay extra for breakfast but it was very much worth it. There was a big selection of drinks, hot and cold meal options, fruits and pastries. There was a tram stop about 2min walk away as well as a supermarket and a few shops/restaurants. We also felt very safe walking around the streets.

The hotel is well situated for the bus and tram network with many options nearby. There are some bars & convenience stores nearby. We enjoyed taking a picnic breakfast in the little park at the top of the street as the weather was very good.

There was a gap between the bottom of the shower door so the bathroom floor got wet everytime, however the towels were changed everyday so that wasnt a problem. The bed linen consisted of a very heavy quilt which was far too hot in the 30+C temperatures, it would have been better if a light sheet had been provided as the room only has a fan, not air con, so it was very warm at night.

We liked everything about this cozy, comfortable and nice pension. The Baronesse is a typical austrian old building, with high ceilings, beautiful crystal chandeliers, big openable windows, and big rooms. This hotel is a very well kept place, clean and neat. Location allows to get almost everywhere by feet. The tram stations are right opposite the hotel. We also enjoyed to communicate with the personnel - all this guys in the reception desk are helpful and very friendly, they can give a good advice about everything in Vienna. They also brought us a big fan, when the weather became hot. They really love people and all of them are speaking different languages, which is important. Same are the people in the breakfast room. Breakfasts are good, with a good coffee and variety of fruits and vegetables. We will gladly be back to Baroness.

The only frustrating thing was a mattresses - they are too soft. It is a not very good for the spine problem.

Altogether good value for money, I would definitely recommend it Nice hotel converted period block of flats with a 100 y o elevator. Very nice and helpful young people run the reception. Single room (224) - small but has everything, refrigerator, big wardrobe, table&chairs, tv, free wifi, nice big bottle of fizzy water (Römerquelle). It faces the inner yard, there is no particular view. The bed is very comfortable. It has no airconditioning, however the room is quite cool even in mid-August. I have not had breakfast, there are nice cafeterias /breakfast places in the vicinity. Tram no. 5 runs in front of the building. 5-7 min walk to the Rathaus, easy access to the city centre and further public transport.

There is no coffee/tea or a kettle in the room. They have a coffee machine at the reception. You can get a nespresso for 1€ and make a tea for 0,5 €.

Our flight was late and the check in was till 22:00 the hotel contact me and they explained how to get in the hotel past that time. Very easy procedure and helpful stuff. The room was huge and had nice big windows looking at the street. The location was easy accessible with trams and busses. The stuff was so helpful at all times whatever we asked for they gave us directions and everything. I would definitely stay again next time I am in Vienna.

I didn't see any air-condition facilities in the room and I would liked to have that especially if I was visiting during the summer. The room got a bit too warm for my taste around 10:30 we opened the windows and it was fine later but I would like to have the option of aircon. (ps. I am not 100% sure that they didn't had it but I didn't saw any control so I assumed they don't have it)

The hotel is located in a residential district just outside the city center. There's a tram just around the corner with only a few stops to the old town. It's a nice old building and the interior is well chosen for the theme of classic Vienna. The room was clean and the beds were very comfortable. Didn't book breakfast so can't comment on that.

The doors in the hallway only had poor soundproofing and were very loud. I woke up hearing people coming in and out of their rooms.

The location was excellent, with perfect connection to public transportation, supermarket and drugstores. The rooms were big and clean, as well as the bathrooms. Special mention of the old styled elevator, which looked really cool and ran smoothly :)

The night staff was not sure about the parking rules in the area which did not help, considering that we arrived after 6 and could not find anything open to buy a ticket or ask. After a thorough documentation about the fact that there is only short-time parking in Vienna, we decided not to risk waiting for the following day and parked in a nearby paid parking garage.

the accommodation unit was quite decent. clean, but not exactly clean, but in general it was quite ok. the staff is excellent, top ten. they were very polite, kind and helped us with what to go around in the map, as well as with car parking. the location of the hotel is excellent and phenomenally connected to the city center and all other parts. After all, public transport in Vienna is phenomenal.

the rooms should be refreshed and maintained a little better. and since there is no kitchen, put a kettle so that we can make coffee or tea ourselves, and not have to pay for that at the reception.
