Hotel Pension Museum

I spent more than three weeks in Vienna. I was so grateful to have Hotel Pension Museum as my temporary home during those wonderful days. If you like art, then the location is exceptional for two reasons: 1. the proximity of the MuseumQuartier, the Volkstheater, and one of the greatest art museums in the world, the Art History Museum (Kunsthistorischesmuseum); 2. the many transportation options readily available from the hotel, including the U-Bahn, a half dozen streetcar lines, and a couple of bus lines, that quickly carry you to the entire city. But more than the excellent location is the warmth and welcoming of the hotel staff, from the owner to the breakfast staff to those who cleaned the rooms. They were, without exception, friendly and solicitous, somehow authentically so. By the way, the continental breakfast is the real deal, not the flinty American version. Fresh fruit and vegetables, cheeses, meats, and bread fresh every day made for a great start. Their coffee machine, btw, is to die for. When you first approach the building you won't be impressed, but don't focus on the book's covers. Experience what's on offer inside.

I was there in June, and the weather was wonderfully mild most days. However, when there were too many hot days in a row, the room grew warm. Fortunately, there was a sweet breeze every night, but I could imagine that in the heart of summer the rooms, lacking air conditioning, could grow uncomfortably warm.

Location was perfect - next to a metro station and many tram lines. Room was spacious with a balcony with a nice view of the city. Breakfast was delicious with many options, the owner showed me around and helped choose best pieces. The staff was super nice and helpful - I arrived early, my room wasn't ready yet, so they offered me a coffee and storage for my suitcase. You might get a room in a separate building not where the dining room is. It's just next door, but you can't go in your sleepers ;)

Bathroom in the middle of the room was a bit strange. Since it wasn't the original place for it, pipes and pump were loud. The mini fridge didn't work well.

we chose it mainly for the convenient location close to museums and were very pleasantly surprised that it exceeded expectations. Arrived a bit earlier than official check in time, but were welcomed with coffee and able to access our room straightaway. Room was clean and spacious, beds very comfortable, breakfast excellent choice. the proprietor and all the staff we met were really friendly and helpful. would definitely recommend.

not much to dislike - reception and breakfast is on the first floor of the building, and our room was on the 3rd, but there’s a lift.

The location is near or within walking distance to the city center and most ofl tourist attractions. Staff is so nice and cooperative. Rooms are comfortable and clean, and the bath is recently renovated. All new and clean. They offer shampoo, hair dryer, slippers, and other hygiene items, hot water very good.. Breakfast is very good. There is a mini fridge in the room. Guiding prints for what to do in Vienna. I would definitely consider coming back.

I always prefer to have a mini coffee machine and hot water cettle in the room. There was no safe in the room.

The building and the room were very classic, and the location was amazing, very close to the center and in a very lovely sector. The room was super big, almost like an studio, really much more than a simple room. Pretty lovely!! We felt like an actual Viennese house and experience. Additionally, the breakfast was super good.

Our room was pretty close to the entry of the building, and also was connected to another room through a door, so it was a bit noisy. In addition, the reception was in a different building which is not very comfortable when you travel with big luggage.

The location is great, beautifull bars and restaurants around the hotel that wakes up in the evening. Volkstheatre metro station is 50 meters from the hotel. Breakfast is great, no hot dishes but everything is fresh and good, The staff is realy nice and helps with every thing. Our room for 2 persons was very big

Some rooms are in the next building, for us that wasn't a problam. There is no loby to the hotel , its in a building with offices but very convinient

Great location close to museums and metro station, room and bathroom very spacious and bright, breakfast room cosy, bright and elegant. The breakfast.was abundant and good.

Our room was not in the main building but in a dependence round the corner. We didn't know about it before arriving there. Breakfast room is in the main building so we had to go out for breakfast. There is a coffee/tea/chocolate machine in the dependence but it is not very clean because people leave their dirty cups there... We asked for a two single bed room but we had a double bed instead. Only duvet on the bed, too warm for August temperature but there were no alternative. The room was not perfectly cleaned when we arrived and we had to ask for toilet paper on the second day because they didn't notice that it was over.

The location is perfect for seeing the sights and for the Naschmarkt which is great for an evening meal. Breakfast at the hotel was excellent, a good choice of fresh breads, fruits, cheeses and meats. Also there was no rush to get to breakfast. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Lack of tea/coffee making facilities in the room or available elsewhere. Hooks in the bathroom to hang towels, especially near the shower.

there were two pillows & they were comfortable. there was a grocery store right across the street. a 4 minute walk to the train & 2 stops to be right in the area we wanted. the cab came exactly when we asked for it.

you couldn’t keep the curtain open because there wasn’t much of a barrier. the lip of the shower was too low & water drained all over the floor. it would have been nice to have had a boxed breakfast as we paid for breakfast.

The location is perfect. They let us do a late checkout. they keep your luggage free of charge for a few hours. The breakfast was amazing with a lot to choose from. The water pressure and temperature were also super nice. Very friendly owner with a great sense of humor.

a few doors were missing so it was a bit difficult for a triple room to change clothes. and the place could have been warmer. The price is a bit high and it is possible to find lower prices but overall it is a good experience.
