Hotel Sans Souci Wien

- Outstanding service and very helpful staff - Superb breakfast with nice dishes (order as much as you like) and champagne. A big plus is that breakfast is until 2pm during the weekends - Very clean (we also got clean towels twice a day) - Nice, stylish and spacious rooms - Spa facilities and beautiful pool, which may also je used after checkout without additional costs - All day free (and good) coffee - Convenient location, very close to the important musea - Tasteful design - Molton Brown amenities - We have stayed in many hotels in this price range and this was definitely on of the best

Only some minor details (but these are no big issues): - The light in the toilet works with a motion sensor, so you have to move quite a bit to prevent sitting in the dark - Bed is a bit on the short side when you are tall

Staff were very personable, polite, friendly and accommodating. Room was lovely. Location was excellent with respect to getting around the city on foot. The concierges were extremely helpful and made reservations for trains, dining experiences, and concerts very easily and efficiently. Food was delicious - breakfast is included and there is a buffet as well as ordering something from the menu without additional cost. Property and room were extremely clean- staff work very hard to ensure this (as well as being accommodating). There is a lovely veranda to sit in. Not in a busy or noisy area. Able to walk to museum quarter, main shopping area and cafes. The hotel offered free coffee (including cappuccinos) all day. Champagne bar was out of this world. An excellent experience!

What was not to like!?

I spent some beautiful times in Vienna together with my wife and 2 children and stayed in the Sans Souci hotel from 17-21 may 2023. Personally I have spent about 1000 nights in hotels world wide, because of professional activities. I may say that I developed a “nose” for good hotels. On entering the lobby and being welcomed by the staff, I already feel what the level of the hotel is. Of coure, it’s quite subjective, but, what is my personal definition of a “good” hotel? It starts with people showing interest in you as a guest, people who clearly know what hospitality is about, and what guests appreciate. A warm personal welcome after which during the efficient check in procedure, a refreshing towel and drink was offered. The tone is set!. On the way to our room we received, from the staff member who took care of our luggage, all the information we needed to enjoy the facilities of the hotel. We had separate, but connecting rooms for the four of us: spacious, beautifully designed, all the details match, including good reading lights in bed, practical desk, a wonderful bathroom, enough closet space,… On top of that you are invited to call room service to receive any kind of coffee specialty, free of charge. We are a” breakfast-enjoying-family”, and also here the details fit: plenty of choices, quality, freshly prepared dishes,… The reception staff was also most helpful in giving us advice on specific topics and restaurant table reservations. What about the spa? After having a nice day in Vienna, relaxing in a very beautiful spa and swimming, in a real swimming pool, and not in some oversized bath tub, makes from each day a real holiday. Coming back to my personal defintion of a good hotel. Well, you can lock me up for 24 hrs, and I don’t feel the desire to leave. We absolutely loved this hotel. The staff were so welcoming when we arrived. The information given to us about the facilities was really helpful. Our room was very nice, spacious, had everything we needed. Complimentary chocolates were a very nice touch. The bed was very comfortable. The air conditioning was very quiet. The shower was excellent and the toiletries were high quality. The rooms were serviced at least twice daily. Regretfully we never tried the all day complimentary coffee room service. The breakfast selection was fresh and tasty and there was something to suit everyone. I particularly liked the range of seeds and nuts to go with cereal, the range of fresh fruits and the cakes. Champagne was available as part of the breakfast, if desired. We did not have time to visit the spa and did not have a drink in the champagne bar. What really made this hotel special were the staff- every member of staff was polite and friendly and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed and were enjoying our stay. We would not hesitate to recommend and hope that we will be able to return some day. Thank you for making our stay so special.

Everything was fabulous, but maybe a greater selection of tea in the room, including some more black tea-bags. The tea selection was very nice but sometimes we just wanted a cup of black tea with milk. This didn't really matter thoughbecause when we asked for specific tea, we were given it immediately.

One of the finest hotels I have ever stayed in. Quality is second to none and I would rate it in my favourite top 3 hotels I have ever experienced. Loved the balcony, the location is exceptional being close to so many important things that I could walk to. Many lovely restaurants and stores close by as well as important land marks. Staff exceptional and very helpful. Beautifully appointed I felt spoiled staying here. From the amazing bed to the excellent chocolates on arrival and the spacious bathroom I can't think of anywhere that I have felt more comfortable. The breakfast was also superb.

Only thing I might be slightly critical of is that they forgot my breakfast order one morning but that's ok as I can afford to miss a meal. I would still rate this as one of my best ever hotel stays.

Outstanding room and facilities. Very new and clean. The staff was extremely professional and courteous. My wife and daughter loved the spa. The breakfast was nice, but unfortunately we only got to enjoy it one day because we had to catch early trains for excursions. It might be nice if they started breakfast earlier, but this is a minor detail. The hotel location is very convenient as it is close to tram and metro stations while still being far enough from the busy streets to avoid the noise.

The room air conditioning could have been a little better.

I stayed at this hotel for my honeymoon, hands down its one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. 1. The staff were simply the sweetest. Very helpful and courteous. One staff in particular Mr Matthias Nebenführ from the front desk, went out of his way to give us suggestions and helping with our plans. Very pleasant to talk to. 2. I have stayed in both rooms the regular and the junior suite. Loved the intirior, very classy and modern. 3. My favourite part was the breakfast, mixture of buffet and al a carte. Amazing food and great service. Overall I would definitely recommend staying in Sans souci whenever visiting Vienna.

Extraordinary place and stay! What a wonderful place to take a break and the staff are just super helpful. Matthias outdid himself with all the knowledge of the city and the bookings of restaurants, concerts and honesty. He booked the bouquet of flowers for my wife and it was just great. Overall, a man anyone who appreciates service that exceeds expectations would want to hire and keep. I can safely say that in my 18 years of business and leisure travel, I have maybe met one more person who was just as keen to help guests, with a smile on his face, never too much hassle to help out. Everyone else was also friendly, I can't remember their names! Breakfast was fantastic, we didn't try the restaurant but it looked very nice. Room is comfortable and a minimalist, lovely big rain shower room and Molton Brown toiletries. The spa is excellent, opening hours rather long too. My wife enjoyed her lymphatic drainage massage and I the gym and steambath /sauna/pool. Rare for me to say, but we left relaxed and recharged! Well done team Sans Souci, you deserve congratulations.

Everything was wonderful - location, reception, room, spa, breakfasts and dinner. The room is very comfortable, room/coffee service is amazing solution, breakfasts were very nice, with a great la carte choice and a glass of champagne. Spa treatments were wonderful. Extremely nice service - breakfast till 2 pm during weekends :)

It was strange to meet naked people in spa - there is no information about such rules, and we choose specially between two hotels not to have this "option". And it was non-standard experience - to be woken up by housekeeper at 9 am on weekends. But of course it is possible to avoid this, hanging a Do not disturb sign.

The location is very convenient to the subway (U-Bahn Volkstheater) and an easy walk to the MuseumsQuartier, the Natural History Museum, and the Art History Museum, as well as several gardens. It's about a half-hour's easy walk to the historic center of Vienna. There are lots of restaurants and boutiques near the hotel, and it's located next to a grocery store. The room was well furnished, with tall ceilings and large windows. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was very clean and I liked the large shower (once I figured out how to turn on the water!). Breakfast was included and it was a great value, with both a buffet and various ala carte offerings. I had a massage in the Spa that was nice and relaxing.

The large windows have automatic window shades which were fine, except they didn't totally darken the room at night, and some of the street lights filtered in (but that's a minor complaint).
