Hotel La Fortezza

Our room had a garden view, so we looked out on leafy trees and the spires of the Orthodox church nearby. Nice, because there was less traffic noise. It was hot, so the air conditioning was very welcome. The decor was traditional and nicely done. We did not take breakfast there. The location is nice and there is some limited parking. The staff very kindly let us over-stay our limits on the car park. We walked into the centre, but I wouldn't recommend it for anyone with mobility problems as it's about 1/2 hour.

There was nothing I didn't like.

I liked the space of the room, cleanliness, organization of the staff, and the quietness of the area which was very convenient. It was amazing for my family because it had a private parking spot which was quite helpful. The breakfast was beyond amazing and it was quick to access the city through the tram which was straight close to the hotel. The movement inside the hotel was very easy and finding the hotel was so easy. My family and I enjoyed it so much.

We got upgraded to a bigger room as we were staying for 4 days. So that was a pleasant surprise for us. The hotel although a little old styled was well maintained and spacious. For a 3 star hotel, it really surpassed my expectations. The staff were lovely and helpful. The housekeeping was excellent.The location of the hotel is great as it is in a safe location, away from the crowd and noise but very close to the tram and bus stop. A walk of 15 mins from the hotel will lead you to multiple restaurants.

Nothing specfic that we would say spoiled our vacation. However I felt some of the breakfast items were too sweet to eat eg. Pancakes. Maybe it is our personal preference but it didn't affect us much.

We spent a very nice time at the hotel during 1 week. All the staff is very helpful.In case of questions they do their best to help you.When you arrive you get a map of the city and some explanations what to visit For those who will come by car the hotel has a parking place 20 euro per day . No worries the staff helps you to park the car. Hotel is clean and breakfast is good too. The situation is very good because a tram station is at 100m for those you don't like to walk to the historical center. Walking takes 15 min. I would recommend this hotel if you want to visit Florence. next time we come to this hotel. Grazie to all the staff Rose&Jean-Pierre

nothing to complain

We arrived at the hotel to an excellent welcome. the hotel has a secure car park at the rear, with access to the ground floor, where our rooms were. This made it easy to carry our luggage into our room without having to use stairs or a lift. The hotel is a 15 minute walk approximately from all the main tourist attractions in the city. our bedroom was spacious and extremely clean, as was the bathroom. The air conditioning helped keep us cool from the heat of the day. The bed was extremely comfortable. in the morning we had a buffet breakfast, there was plenty of variety in what was available. all said and done, we would definitely recommend the hotel.

The room was very comfortable & the staff were very good. We would especially like to mention zMohammed who was friendly, efficient and caring. When I was struggling with a sore ankle, he gave me an ice pack & showed me where to get the lift to aboid using the stairs.

There weren’t many restaurants close by (but we gound one which was very good - The Social Club.

The staff were welcoming and incredibly helpful. it’s a 1 minute walk from a tram stop that takes you straight into the centre. The hotel looks classy and clean.

Unfortunately the first room we were given stank of smoke, however the staff handled this very well and moved us immediately. We were actually given a better room on a higher floor which we were very thankful for. I would say that even though there are no smoking signs, a lot of guests do smoke here as our new room had several cigarette butts outside the window.

The staff was very helpful and wonderful to work with. They were very kind and always ready to make your stay a nice experience. The room was clean.

Breakfast time was very busy. They only had two workers and it took time to get your coffee and find a table to eat. It is easier to have people choose their food and have the people place their dirty dishes in an area when they get busy.

The hitel was very nice and clean. The decor was exactly what I would prefer for a Florence hotel. The hotel was a minute walk away from the transit stop. We walked to the main square every day. Most importantly all the people who worked there were very nice and helpful. Oh and the free breakfast was delicious with lots of choices.

The room was very clean however the bed was a little hard. We had a tiny shower!

The property was nice and clean, however it needs a little bit of remodelling and definitely painting. The receptionist was great, and the breakfast was of very good quality and with large choice. The staff at the breakfast and the cleaning staff were very polite and willing to offer their services.

It would be nice to have their walls repainted, as time and people left their signs on them.
