Santa Maria Novella - WTB Hotels

Large room with lovely decor. Excellent buffet breakfast. Great location to many of the sites and museums in Florence.

Difficult to find if walking over from train station. Difficult because there is no signage for the hotel. The first place you will see the hotel name is on its doormat. We had to ask the concierge of another hotel where our hotel was. The secret to find it is the address. It is #1 and has a 1 address sign (grey tile) on its front so look for that. Once you find it, it won't be a problem again.

The location is excellent, right in the heart of the city. The facilities were very clean and neat. The bed was comfortable. The hotel staff was very helpful. We chose the hotel because it had a fitness room and my husband likes to workout daily. There were plenty of attractions within walking distance and lots of choices of restaurants.

If you’re in Florence, you’ve got to stay at Santa Maria Novella Hotel. I’ve got the best room overlooking the piazza. The hotel’s just very close to the train station and a very close walk to the Duomo. The staff had been most wonderful, too. Be sure to have breakfast at the most magnificent dining hall before hitting the cobbled streets.

We were extremely happy with our stay at this hotel. The view from our window of the Santa Maria Novella Church was just exceptional !!! Our room was quite big and very clean with a black& white Marble bathroom which was super clean! The hotel is in a convenient spot, in the plaza right across from Santa Maria Novella church, 5 mins walk from Duomo 10 min from Uffizi and Accademia, 10 min from Merkato Central, and Ponte Vecchio bridge and Pitti Place and 10-15 walking distance from many other attractions!! The breakfast was huge and had amazing choice of food. the hotel has couple fair size elevator which is very hard to find in many places. We had our best time in Italy at Florence and about 80% of it was because our stay was so comfortable and relaxing after a long day of site seeing and coming back to our clean fresh room!! All the staff were friendly and always serving with a smile. We shall go back to this hotel any chance we get!

The hotel was perfect what we needed. In an amazing location and within around at most a 15 minute walk of anything you want to see (5 minutes of the Cathedral). The roof top terrace with a great view of the Novella and of the the city was a surprise added bonus. The staff were incredibly helpful, and the breakfast was very nice. Would 100% stay here again.

If i had to be picky there was occasionally an odd smell in our room, and the aircon was noisy at times, but honestly they were never really an issue and were outweighed greatly by the positives.

It would be hard to find a better location. Our extended stay was absolutely wonderful. The room was great and the bathroom was magnificent. What made our visit so great was the fantastic staff. The wonderful folks at the front desk, Lorenzo, Roland and Mari Ella made awesome dinner recommendations and actually called the restaurants and made the reservations for us every night. Also, the breakfast was beyond fabulous. The best part was the service lady named Davina - She kept the wonderful cappuccinos coming and didn’t mind one bit that we got there as breakfast was ending every day. We did have a junior suite so I can’t vouch for any other room types.

Good position close to the station and within walking distance of all the major attractions. Ground floor bar overlooking the piazza was nice to have a cocktail. And inside was a cosy lounge. Breakfast was substantial. Lovely artwork throughout. Staff were very helpful.

There is no sign outside the hotel so I walked around a bit trying to find it. Inside its a bit of a rabbit warren. Getting to the room required a lift and several stairs and corridors. The room is advertised as having a minibar but it only had still water in it, no alcohol or other drinks. Not a big problem but a bit inconvenient.

Location is excellent and the facility is lovely. Very old world feel. We had a nice sized room for 3 people. The breakfast was plentiful with a large number of gluten free options which were appreciated. It felt a bit like bing at Hogwarts since there were so many twists and turns and even small sets of stairs on each floor and we found the “room of requirement”: an unlocked, unnumbered room on our floor that had extra towels, toilet paper, creams and shampoos. Overall a lovely stay

It is a bit pricey and I would have appreciated a bit more variety for breakfast.

The location is perfect! Central to everything in a beautiful piazza where most nights there was live music and a relaxed atmosphere. Close to a huge variety of places to eat, shopping and the main train terminal. Breakfast was a wonderful spread with many options. Would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Florence. Also want to say what a wonderful job housekeeping staff did - room was always immaculate, well stocked and the little treat in our pillows at night was a lovely touch. Thank you.

Beautiful hotel, very friendly and helpful staff. Great location, especially so close to the train station. Good breakfast in lovely rooms, with kind and attentive breakfast staff.

Getting to our room required taking two elevators and going down a zigzag of hallways and little staircases. I think that signs should be posted that show the way to the front desk and clearly mark the way to rooms, to the correct elevators, and so on. I worry that in the case of an emergency, such as a fire, there would be great confusion as to which way to exit.
