Hotel Paolo II

Facilities were spotless of so clean, very friendly staff that went above and beyond to support me as I needed. Location is great, 5m walk from San Pietro Station that is 40m away from Airport. It is 7m away from Vatican City and 30m walk away from Trevi Fountain! With a supermarket right next to the hotel, what else?

Lovely very helpful and friendly staff, they even called me back on my UK number when I hadn't been able to get hold of them regarding the best method of transport links to get to the hotel from Ciampiano Airport. The bed was super comfy!! My partner and I had some of the best night's sleeps we have ever had while travelling. The room was cleaned and sorted thoroughly each day. I loved the live fern wall in the room: an interesting touch!

The only problem we had was that the main overhead shower didn't work and the smaller hand held pat of the shower would only stay at one height. But this wasn't a huge issue and the pressure and temperature were great so we didn't feel the need to complain.

It was our Honey Moon, everything was amazing, the room was extra very clean, the staff is too kind and they speak Italian, English and Spanish, so don't worry about the language. We had a big surprise from the staff due our honey moon. You will see in the photos. Location is beyond great, easy access to train stops and bus stops, walk time to Vatican City, 10 min to Trevi Fountain and Collosseo by bus.

Everything was perfect!!

Rooms were very clean. Front desk was very helpful and attentive. I booked two rooms, one with breakfast and one without because I wasn't sure if we would need it. After seeing the breakfast, I paid $5 because it was very convenient and a good value. Had a croissant, an americano, yogurt, meat, and cheese.

The hotel is in the middle of a courtyard. The first night we stayed it was a little loud with noise coming from neighbor balcony's. The hotel provides earplugs which were on the nightstands next to the desk. Admittedly, I did not use them and had i used them they would have helped a lot. The minibar refrigerator was a little loud at night too. The second night I slept better as everything was a little more quiet.

Everything was great, very clean and comfortable. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good value. The location is secure and within easy walking distance to so many amazing places.

The only thing I would have liked is to have coffee and a kettle in the room, we don't always want to have breakfast so we had to go out for coffee first thing in the morning. We probably could have asked for coffee but felt rude if we weren't having breakfast (probably an English thing).

Perfect location just south of the Vatican. Requested post midnight check-in due to our flight's arrival and they accommodate it well. Breakfast was tasty and just what we needed that morning. We only stayed for one night but would come back if visiting Rome in the future.

Noise of the mini-bar/fridge was far too loud, had to disconnect it as it prevented us from sleeping. Having all that greenery inside the room might look good on paper but it provided unwanted humidity. There are no large sign displaying the hotel name which can be tricky to find when it's dark or arriving tired.

Location! Very close to the Vatican City and close to Public transportation, bus and train (San Pietro Station) also not far from the colleseum, trevi fountain and venezia palace, about 10 bus stops away. Also a nice supermarket about 50 meters from the hotel, very quiet and peaceful neighbourhood. The Staff were excellent, they spoke fantastic English, the young lady that checked me in was so kind as to order me dinner with her phone as I was too tired to go out at 10pm to get food just after arrival. I requested a late checkout for 12pm and they obliged (Although I wonder why check out is 10:30am). Water pressure was great, hot water available, Air conditioner worked perfectly. Bed was okay, the bathroom facilities were good, WiFi was great, watched Netflix on my Laptop because the TV had no good channels on show.

Breakfast was weak. Practically just snacks, should offer more variety, more continental choices. TV stations, couldn't find English channels, not even CNN. Probably add a basic laundry service too for the convenience of your guests who are mostly travellers round Italy or Europe.

Perfect hotel for a short stay in Rome, 2 streets from the Vatican, very close to the centre. The hotel is small but very comfortable, rooms always clean, they changed towels and bathroom objectives every day we stayed. The room has air conditioning, a mini bar, where they replaced the waters at no extra cost... The breakfast is small and repetitive but if you want something else just ask and they replace or add it. The espresso coffee is very good. The best part of the hotel is without a doubt the receptionist March, always attentive and cheerful, he made us feel at home, very nice, he says "good morning" with a smile, serves us coffee and chats with us, offers help to plan the conversation and accompanies our stay like no one else. I feel very lucky to have chosen this hotel and to have found Marco.

The minute we arrived we were made very welcome. The room was very comfortable. The hotel was well situated for visiting many of the famous sites. Vatican city, Pantheon, Trevi fountains, Piazza Navona, Castle de Angelo within 30 minutes walk. Loads of restuarants to choose from within 15 minutes walk from the hotel. The breakfast was a typical continental breakfast. Tea and proper coffee with tasty biscuits available throughout the day.

Cannot find anything wrong with the hotel.

Great location! Just a 5 minute walk to Vatican. Situated in the middle of apartment buildings which was not a problem at all. Quiet area with a convenient supermarket just 2 doors down. Staff was amazing, very friendly, welcoming, and helpful, especially Marco! Everything with our room was great. It was clean and had everything you need. Breakfast was delicious which included a variety of croissants, meat, cheese, fruit, etc. Cappuccinos were great as well! Overall, it was a great experience for us and would definitely stay here again!

Far from downtown but it’s a quick scooter or €8 taxi ride!
