What an amazing place to stay. from the moment we did the check in and I told them I was celebrating my son and myself birthday and they greeted us with drinks. They explained very thoroughly the amenities and walked us to our rooms. There are 2 pools that have bars which we enjoyed. they also have a kids pools. The beach was very clean and my kids were able to swim without a worry. There is a lifeguard on site. Buffet food was very delicious and good variety. I have stayed at other resorts and I will say nothing compares to the service we received. All the staff was amazing! Aguileo and Manuel at the bar were amazing! so attentive and always serving with a smile. They have night shows at the theater. There is also a disco at night and the staff really did an amazing job to make sure everyone had a good time. Victor is the best!! he made us all get up and dance and did very good to entertain us. There is also a bar at the lobby and the environment was very pleasant. They have live music that includes kids and adults. The staff at the buffet aaa so attentive and I can not leave out our room service. They made sure our rooms were clean and stocked every day. We even ordered room service passed 1 am and they delivered. This is a smaller resort compared to other but still very good size and it was even better since you get personalized service. I will definitely be going back soon. To all the staff, thank you for making our stay that much better.

The ala carte restaurants. You have to book reservation to have dinner which we did every day at 12 am and wishing 1 minute they were all booked. But we didn’t mind it since they are open to the public for lunch and so is the buffet.

Great buffet and dining options. Amazing pools and beach access. Comfy beds and beautiful rooms, with a spectacular terrace overlooking the sea.

All was great except for the way the hotel bills its guests. If you're a local or live in Mexico and need to make a payment in Mexican pesos, the conversion rate they use is excessively higher than the actual bank rates. If they had charged my credit card in USD instead at the actual bank rate (which they weren't allowed to do as my card is issued in Mexico), I'd have saved around 4,000 pesos. This is really poor customer service to guests visiting from within Mexico.

The resort and staff were awesome. Favorite restaurants were Bloved (access exclusive to booking.com reservations and the exclusive level guests) and Adelita’s. Room service and maid service were quick and kind. Tipping suggestion: bring lots of $1s to leave for any service provided.

Poop washed up onto the beach… staff says it’s from manatees. There isn’t a lot and it could go unnoticed if you aren’t looking for it. The towel ‘reservation system’ of the pool and beach chairs - not first come first serve, first towel on the chair first serve. So guests could leave for any amount of time and if the towel was still on their chair it would still be reserved.

The grounds were beautiful and extremely well kept as well as very clean. The access to the beach was convenient, manicured and combed of seaweed or any trash. The food was pretty good particularly in the restaurants and the items being prepared by cooks for you at the buffet. All the staff were kind, helpful and friendly. The gym and spa facilities were great! The entertainment was pretty good the best were the salsa band from Cuba.

There was an obvious colour code system via your bracelets that highlighted an almost class system amongst guests - particularly when going to the restaurants as it impacts reservations, service and your menu. This is not a place I would recommend for couples looking to get away as it was VERY family oriented. Primarily all guests were families with young children and large groups of families or friends with their kids. The pool area was filled with children playing while the children specif area remained empty for the most part. The theater entertainment was also extremely family/children oriented - if you're hoping for a sexy fun show expect a Disney show.

My wife and I had a great time at this resort! We stayed 3 days and didn't leave the resort. The food at the different restaurants was great and there was a good variety. The beach was great. There were lots of beach chairs under the palm trees or out under the sun. Some of the drinks we were served were not good, but we would order the same thing from another bartender and it was great (find "your guy" and stick with them)! Ivan at the Lobby Bar and Rafael at the beach bar were our favorite bartenders.

We were pleasantly surprised that this resort exceeded our expectations. If I had to choose something, this resort is a little farther from the airport, shops and other tourist attractions than most resorts. Since we weren't planning to do a whole lot, outside the resort, it didn't really bother us. Making our reservation through Booking.com gave us a couple of perks that we didn't realize we had when we booked, which was a pleasant surprise!

the best hotel in Cancun ever! all in excellent condition food is awesome kids club is good! beach clean and neat entertainment is good. staff is super polite and friendly. shops are expensive. I spent 5 days here and 5 days in Hilton Cancun, and Hilton provide me worst experience ever. I strongly recommend Catalonia, because it is a best hotel in Cancun!

Property is pretty new and thus spotless, has all the amenities of a 5 star hotel with multiple top notch restaurants, spa, pools, gym, etc. Property is direct by the beach.

only two “callouts” I would have are: (i) there was a bit of sargassum (end of August) which they try to clean daily with a tractor going up and down the beach removing it, and it really wasn’t significant to be an issue or prevent us from being at the beach or in the sea, (ii) property is a bit far north from Cancun which in turn meant that our plans to visit Tulum/X-caret were scrapped as it was too far away and we didnt want to spend so much time on the car (would rather have that time at the beach), (iii) the staff was a bit pushy on selling their exclusive club membership asking me pretty much daily to take their 1 hr sales pitch.

The grounds were beautiful. Beach access was spectacular. Loved the bar staff at the beach and pool bars. Everything was very clean! Decor was also very modern and stylish. Loved the food trucks!

So the restaurant greeters were challenging to say the least. Also we had a rattling noise in our room that I went to the front desk about after the first night and nothing was done. Went the second day and they said they would address it after we checked out. No offer was made for another room or a discount or an additional nights stay at some point later. The noise was awful and kept us up. Room was beautiful but the handling of this noise was not okay.

Easy check in polite friendly staff very clean new upscale facility. I always felt safe as a female traveller travelling alone.

I wasn’t told about the activities they had going on in the hotel at check-in. I also didn’t like that you had to make bookings to a QR code for the restaurants and half the time the app wasn’t working I even reported this to the concierge but they said they couldn’t help me. Also wish they offered shuttles to their guests to take them in to Cancun or from the airport in a package deal would’ve made it more fun

the concept, new building

it feels as they don’t manage well the availability in restaurants. 15/20 wait time for breakfast while plenty of free tables inside every day. or restaurants with all reservations completed but then unused tables.
