Hotel Secreto

I was torn about leaving this review. Part of me wants to keep this place a secret so it stays special. But another part of me knows they if they don't get business, they will not stay in business. And, let's face it, service this good deserves a review! After finding our hotel, we were greeted by a friendly staff who helped us with our luggage. We checked in and were shown to our room on the first floor. The room was HUGE and cold! This hotel room could be a condo, with a king bed, couch, and full size kitchen. While we didn't plan to prepare any meals ourselves, we certainly had everything we needed if we wanted to. This was just the beginning. Opening our patio revealed a beautiful deck and infinity pool that looked out into the ocean with breathtaking views. We were only steps away. The concierge helped us rent a golf cart and it was delivered within 10 minutes. The rooms were cleaned each day and were well taken care of. The bed was super comfortable, and did I mention that the A/C was cold? At the end of our trip, the staff made arrangements to meet us at the ferry so that we could leave our golf cart with them there instead of the hotel, which made it super easy to get our luggage to the ferry. 10/10 not only would we stay here again, but we WILL stay here again.

There really wasn't anything we didn't like. If I had to pick something, it would be that it's a little difficult to find. However, that's part of it's charm once you get there.

very nice hidden hotel. quiet and super week located in the same time. the hotel lobby is extremely nice and Claudia was absolutely amazing for the check in check out and for the drinks too.

i hated that the property charge you in USD when we are in Mexico. if you want to pay in local currency (pesos), they charge you a rate for it which is inaceptable ! It is absolutely unbelievable to be charged that way and for this reason I’m unfortunately not going back to this hotel. WE ARE IN MEXICO ! Not in USA ! Time to follow the rules… It’s absolutely against the law to do this !

What I liked about the property is the location and proximity to beaches and downtown. It is very secluded and quiet, and only a few steps (2-3 min walk) to playa norte and restaurants. I also liked the pool area, rooftop bar and the staff.

There is nothing I can think of that I didn’t like about the property but if there is something that I can point out, it would be that the room seemed a bit outdated as well as the gym.

Amazing location, the hotel premises are very clean and organized, the staff is all the time available. If you look for a place to relax, this is the perfect hotel. The swimming pool is unbeatable.

Room, pool, location, all staff Absolutely everything... Out of appreciation to the facility and its staff, I see there are a lot of POTENTIAL IDEAS to make the stay in this cosey place even more memorable to the guests and would like to suggest for example: fruits or ice cream poolside, welcoming gesture in the room, organized discounted excursions, sunrise beach yoga...

The pool could be cleaner

the property smelled heavenly and was so cozy and breezy!! it was also so easy to get around. our room was on the first floor with a walk out porch to the pool and beach. the view was fantastic and the staff were kind and attentive. while the water is not swimmable at this location, it’s not a big deal bc you can either walk or take your golf cart down the street.

Everything was perfect! Scott (the owner) is always there, ready to help and give you great tips! First he suggested a very nice and yummy restaurant for drinks & food (Fish & Gin). Second he helped me out to unlock my drone in Isla Mujeres, as it's a NFZ. (You go to DJI page and register yourself. They give you a temporary permission to fly) The pool is amazing, the view is stunning. The beach is like having your own private one... The suite is big, the bed very comfortable, the shower is so pleasant... Location is the best you can have, as you're 3 minutes walking distance from Playa Norte (best sunsets in Riviera Maya), and 3 minutes from the centre, with all its shops and restaurants. We loved "Hotel Secreto", definitely the best spot in Isla Mujeres. ❤️

quiet with view on a small beach, the spa service was excellent and the staff very nice and good advice, the pool was small but nice set up, room decoration was nice, overall hotel very clean and "feel good" atmosphere

the room was on the ground floor with a bit of "sea view" from far away. It was not the place we wanted to spend time in as it smelled humidity and did lack of light, not sure whether this was the case in all rooms or just on the ground floor. there's no restaurant in the property but not a problem as plenty around the hotel

Amazing staff, that took great care of us during our stay. If you want to rent a golf cart or need a transfer to the airport, Scott, who is the owner of the hotel, was of great help. If you feel like taking a drink in the evening at the hotel bar, the staff is of great company. The location is close to the city but little bit off the main streets with a quiet beach in front of the hotel. Rooms are new, great AC and the bathroom is big.

We had a garden room where we got the noise from a party location in the city blasting over at night. This was only during the weekend though and due to our jet lag we did not care too much. The not working hot water in our room was a bigger problem for my gf. For those of you wanting to take a splash in the ocean, the beach in front of the hotel is not for swimming due to the strong current. For us this wasn't an issue since there is a pool and North Beach is 5 minutes walk away.

We loved staying at Hotel Secreto! The view was amazing, the room was huge and the service very friendly. The hotel has a private access to the beach, it is very calm. The amazing part is, that it's quiet at the hotel but it's also very close to the center. All the restaurants were easily reached via walking. 10/10 would recommend.
