Crowne Plaza Vilamoura - Algarve, an IHG Hotel

Great location, easy to park, clean, great staff, and good food.

In the past we’ve always had to go early in the morning to get sun beds but on this occasion, with the pool rules, it was not a problem.

Breakfast had lots of variety which I appreciated. The spa staff were fantastic. Philippa and the beauticians were lovely. I still think of the massage and facial. They were gloriously relaxin h and refreshing. Front desk staff were good, Hugo at reception gave us a great recommendation. My room was lovely but could have used some paint above the sliding door to the bathroom and when I turned the fan on there was dust everywhere. Overall the facilities were lovely despite the construction next door.

I found the restaurant service terrible. Maybe I am used to North American service that is fast, efficient and they bend over backwards to help you. Service was slow, we were constantly starving waiting for the food and the kids having a meltdown. The food was tasty but not worth the wait. Staff were friendly but not attentive when it came to meal service. The pool bar service was better than the restaurants.

We spent a full week at the hotel. The staff are just fabulous, we experienced a fantastic and friendly service from everyone, they went above and beyond to make us comfortable and ensured we relaxed, no matter how big or small the ask. The facilities are amazing, breakfast is the best I've had in any hotel - top class food and huge variety, the lunch menu also had a great variety and was delicious. A special thank you to the lovely lady who organised a special little chocolate cake for our little boy Noah who turned two while we were there, a truly great example of the above and beyond service they deliver!

The facilities the quality of food and drink the friendliness of the staff made it very enjoyable

unfortunately through no fault of the hotel but my wife and I felt a little unsafe going onto the promenade between Vilamoura and Quatiera at night. There appeared to be a number of youngsters on scooters with hoods up and faces partially covered. it just gave the impression of up to no good. Also the nearby casino hosts a disco on the weekends and from about 4am the people leaving the venue didn’t seem to have a lot of thought for the residents of the neighbouring hotels. On the Sunday morning I was going out for a walk at about 7am and there were still a few groups with slabs of beer on the benches situated on the promenade between the hotel and Quatiera.

Very comfortable room. We had a room facing the beach - the balcony had a glass front so the view was incredible! Could sit there all day! They have a very pretty 90m pool and good quality Sun loungers and umbrellas. The pool staff were very friendly and efficient. Access straight to the beach and both Quarteira and Vilamoura only a short walk along the beach or by road.

Ordered a meal through room service. Soup and a main course for each of us. We had a suite and there was no table suitable to eat at. We had to eat with our plates and bowls on our knees. TV selection was poor - only BBC News channel in English. Would have appreciated the 4 standard UK channels as a minimum. Other 5 star establishments provide those.

Breakfast fantastic. Located close to Marine, beach and local town. Staff very friendly and we felt very safe there. Very good view from our room and it was quite and peaceful Very good swimming pool and even had some shamrock growing in the lawn around the pool

Prices at the pool bar on the high side Got bitten my insects while sitting out in the balcony which was also a little bare re: furniture €14 to use the spa per person per day was excessive €45 to organise a taxi to the airport is more expensive than calling a taxi on the street

The Hotel, amenities and rooms are lovely. we stayed in a junior suite which was very comfortable and spacious. as we had a junior suite we had the option to use the spa for 1 day. the spa is really great with a hydrotherapy pool and excellent steam and sauna. The hotel staff were all very friendly and very helpful.

Nothing to dislike about the property. The only 2 things I would mention is that the coffee/tea/milk provided is in a bag and not enough milk provided. This may be overstock from Post Covid so not a big issue. The mini bar fridge isn’t turned on unless you ask for the mini bar to be filled which is obviously to stop guests bringing in their own supplies.

Breakfast was great, with many different options. The decoration is great. Room was great as well as location. I loved the sea view and the bathroom window wall. Felt great.

I didn't like that waiters were removing the plates at breakfast a bit ansiously after I finish. I didn't had the best night sleep because there was so much noise outside during the night..unfortunately the windows didn't isolate it. That is a very bad issue.. and the TV didn't connect to Netflix! Please correct.. Also, the pool had stains on the floor and the Turkish bath really smelled like mold. Not cool.
