Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok, an IHG Hotel

The stockroom is an amazing add to the hotel the breakfast was spectacular and the stations of various food is exceptional. We liked the lobby and the outside area We liked that the hotel has mist things that you might need such as stain remover, pads, nail polish remover all free of charge! Room service slow Room cleaning was not that much Shower head is not stable and there was a leakage from the shower to the toilet sear! No near by shops! The bar workers on the 40th floor were rude and didn't allow us to set were we asked! The

The housekeeping exceeded my expectations! I didn't expect them to even help me coil my cables and wires!

The room was a bit too costly. The TV channels are quite boring to me, could have been better if there is option for Netflix. The pillows are the kind that is sinking in and I am not a fan of those. The hotel did not allow me to use debit card as deposit for the room charges, I was quite shocked and disappointed as I have to go down to B1 to use the ATM for cash payment instead and had a surcharge as it is overseas usage. Not sure if I was being too sensitive, I feel that the hotel staff are prejudiced. I have been ignored while I was standing at the concierge counter for awhile until I went to speak to them…

The hotel has amazing facilities. The rooms and beds were comfortable. We slept like babies. The location is excellent, with a nearby galleria (Velaa) with restaurants, cafes, and a gourmet grocery market. The lobby has a busy cafe (Craft) with a nice seating area. Their cappuccino was good but the Turkish coffee and pastries were bad. It was basically hot water.

The hotel caters to a certain clientele and generally ignores any other “type” of visitors. The check-in process made my family and I unwelcome. To give you an idea, it took them a whole hour to check us in. Throughout our stay we had to endure occasional snobbishness from the hotel goers for being “foreign” despite us being paying customers that are staying in a five star hotel just like them.

I think this hotel is 10/10. everything was great, but in room service one guy in stuff didn’t know English as well and I had to repeat my food order for 2-3 times, stuff disturbed me by calls about 3-4 times every day because of small reasons like “did you get a food from restaurant? okay thank you bye”. of course I got! I called you before for that… they couldn’t change my 1000 dollars, only 400 because they didn’t have money…

most amazing breakfast buffet. so many cute dogs everywhere. staff and service was very good. gorgeous luxurious hotel. central world is a little far but walkable. beautiful garden. hotel must be new because most taxis weren’t 100% sure where it was by name, after I showed them the address it wasn’t a problem.

The daily buffet breakfast option/s is definitely on top of my list. 😊 We tried having dinner at the Stock Room too and their ala carte options tasted really good, especially the pad thai. In-room dining options were also yummy. Another thing I liked is the ambience of the hotel, especially the lobby. It’s location is also superb, just a few minutes from the malls. You can take a cab or you can walk if you’re fond of walking. The area is clean, with lots of trees in the vicinity and doesn’t get crowded. The staff were all helpful and courteous. Our room was huge and the bed was comfortable. They cleaned the room everyday. We also loved the pool area, it was shaded which is the best set up when you want to avoid the sun. 😉 There’s a portion in it too where you can get a tan or you can opt to use the sun loungers. Best part is that it wasn’t crowded. My son and I enjoyed our pool time. We are missing Kimpton already and would definitely stay there again when we go to Bangkok.

It takes time if your request for a bucket of ice.

Breakfast was excellent, just like everything else. The service was outstanding and the room was very spacious. Very clean and the nicest/comfiest bed. Thank you Duen for the clean room and all staff for making this stay so smooth and comfortable. Thank you so much for the most memorable stay!

I think the hotel is great but no better than other 5 star hotels in Bangkok. The swimming pool is really nice, and the view from the top is beautiful. We had a 2 bedroom suite which came equipped with washer dryer so quite helpful. The breakfast was also very extensive.

The lifts didn't work brilliantly. There are so many floors and you have to wait ages to go up and down. My husband wore flip flops to breakfast and was turned away! I think enforcing a dress code, especially for breakfast, is an unnecessary pretention. Not for us.

Everything. Probably the best hotel I’ve stayed at in Bangkok. service, swimming pool, gym, room and breakfast all great.
