Countryside Escape - The Night Owl0

Loved the location, lovely and quiet but only a few minutes out of Alnwick Town centre. Great to watch the birds in the garden from the sunroom. Lovely to have a sitting room to share with family / guests. It was a perfect base to explore Northumbria with family all able to stay together. There were 6 of us staying between the 3 rooms. Lovely homemade breakfasts. Fiona is a great host, very friendly but not overbearing. The house is immaculate, and the accessible room is lovely. The bathrooms were all really good and the sitting room is a really nice extra to enable you to relax with friends.

Beautiful location, out on the moors and yet only 10 minutes from Alnwick. Absolutely spotless everywhere. Gorgeous garden area and able to sit outside if we chose. Fiona our host was so welcoming and provided afternoon tea on arrival, nothing was too much trouble for her. Amazing breakfast and home made bread too. Carrot cake just the best! We didn’t want to leave. Comfy beds and dressing gowns too. I could just go on and on. We will definitely be booking again. Prompt communication to any messages 😊

The breakfasts were excellent with a large choice of food and drink. Fiona was a really good host and was friendly and helpful. There was a separate lounge if needed and there was always parking. In the countryside but only just over 3 miles to Alnwick and around 2 miles to the A1 to reach different destinations and activities. Highly recommended!

Booked to stay here for 2 nights but wish we could have stayed longer. Greeted at the door by Fiona when we arrived and shown round, followed by an amazing home cooked afternoon tea, cheese scones to die for. Our room was spacious and clean, super comfy bed! Breakfast provided in the morning which was all home cooked from local produce, the home cooked bread was amazing!!! The location was perfect, situated just outside alnwick but easy to drive to many other places. We couldn't fault anything from our stay, will definitely book again. Thank you Fiona and your friendly dog.

We had a warm welcome & 'afternoon tea' waiting for us when we arrived! The room was lovely & clean, nicely deccorated with quality bedding and a modern bathroom, with good shower. The garden view was fabulous, easy to while away the time watching the birds & horses! Fiona is an excellent host & her breakfasts were very tasty and well cooked, with a good range to suit all tastes & appetites! We will deffinately return!

The location is great, out in the countryside and so peaceful!! Our host Fiona really took time out to make us welcome and even provided a high tea when we arrived. Breakfast was all we could expect and the room also has a great view across the countryside. Our bedroom was well appointed and the bed itself was great. As a result, we had the best nights sleep for days.

The property appears to be in the middle of nowhere yet is only a few minutes from both Alnwick town centre and the A1 - ideal location. Breakfasts cover a wide range of choices from coffee, fruit and cereal to a sumptuous 'full English' - all perfectly prepared and presented. Our room and the ensuite were big enough and the bed very comfortable. There is also a lovely sitting room for use of guests in addition to the breakfast room that has fine views across the garden and adjoining countryside. Plenty of space for parking, walks that start from the front door and room for muddy boots when needed. Fiona was most welcoming from the off and made us feel the pleasure of our stay was all hers!

The room and bathroom were spotless. The bed very comfortable. Breakfast was tasty and fulfilling. Fiona the hostess was friendly and welcoming.

The lack of instruction of how to get to the location as it is in the moors. Lack of signage on main road to point you in the right direction. Could do with the local tourist information having the knowledge to point people in the right direction. We were sent in the opposite direction to where the cottage was.

We were delighted with the friendly welcome from Fiona and the lovely afternoon tea she had prepared for us on our arrival. She went over and above our expectations in every way. Our bedroom was lovely with an extra large and very comfortable bed. Nice modern en-suite with large bath and good shower. Breakfast was excellent with a vast selection of top quality food, locally sourced. We loved the location in the heart of beautiful countryside, yet so close to Alnwick, the coast and the A1.

Fiona was wonderful and friendly and a great host from.start to finish, answering any questions before arrival and was on hand with any information we needed. The location was great. Amazing food, we loved the homemade bread and marmalade and the great local produce for breakfast. Thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon tea on arrival with nice sandwiches, cakes and the scones. The accommodation was lovely, comfortable and clean and not too far by car from Alnwick itself.
