A beautiful dog friendly hotel with a real family feel. The decor, facilities were well thought through to provide a really comfortable stay. The breakfast was excellent from local kippers; full cooked breakfast plus mango/granola/ yoghurt pots. Super location by the castle with dog walks over the bridge in the meadows. Easy walk into centre of town.

Charming staff. Easy parking. Near Castle. Lovely interior. Great room and comfy bed, lovely bed linen. Great bathroom. Lovely outdoor space and dining room.. Breakfast couldn't have been better.

Sadly the view of the castle from the room, as shown on the booking site, had been permanently blocked by the building of a massive hotel right across the vista. We weren't warned about this before arrival so suddenly seeing it was a bit of a shock initially, but as the castle is two steps away a view is easy to remedy. Also we were there at the weekend so didn't experience any building noise. And the room was quite hot but fans in room.

The room was smaller than I expected but very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was plentiful and lots of choice, the staff were fantastic and welcoming. Loved sitting in the lounge of an evening with a drink (delicious mocktail) and a game of dominoes.

The room could have been bigger but since it was in the ‘cosy’ section we can’t complain. I think I might have appreciated an armchair of some kind but since space was tight probably not practical, next time we’ll book the next size up.

Had a wonderful stay at the Cookie Jar. I'd booked for my husband's 50th and was not disappointed. I'd asked for balloons and fizz in the room and was delighted with fantastic balloons and delicious fizz. We were upgraded to the suite which was stunning, the most beautiful hotel room we've ever stayed in. The staff were so lovely and could not do enough for us. The food was also excellent and breakfast superb. We had dinner one night of our stay, which was delicious.

There's nothing I would change, it was an excellent experience.

The evening meal was excellent, as was the breakfast. Staff are friendly and helpful. This is a lovely hotel, very clean and stylish, and in a great location, possibly my favorite part of Alnwick. We had some minor issues with noise from the room above, and the staff dealt with this quickly and professionally.

We stayed in the Holy Island room, which was very nice, spacious and well furnished. Unfortunately a new hotel build is in progress, and is obscuring the view of the castle from the room. This was disappointing and we were not aware of this at the time of booking. We will hopefully try a different room next time.

The location was excellent. It was very close to the centre of town which was about 5 minutes walk. Here there were plenty of restaurants to eat. Entrance to the castle was just down the road and the treehouse gardens was about 20 minutes walk. Breakfast was very enjoyable and had enough variety.

There was nothing about the stay that we didn’t like. If there was one suggestion to give the hotel, it would be to have louder, soft music playing in the background when dining. It felt a little too quiet to the point of having to whisper when talking between our two selves. Otherwise everything was excellent.

Beautiful room, parking, room was spotlessly clean, bed was heaven, huge shower, lovely well cooked breakfast, evening meal in bistro was good too. Very friendly and welcoming staff who showed us to our room and made sure we knew how to work everything. The lady serving our breakfast server was lovely and couldn't do enough for us 😊 short walk to the attractions of Alnwick. Museum and castle on doorstep!! Thank you can't wait to come back. !

Only minor issue was the water was not very hot in our shower which was a shame as it had fab pressure.

We had 3 nights in this lovely boutique hotel, we were upgraded to The Chapel, a beautiful, unusual suite which was very clean and comfortable, especially the huge bath! Great location near the Castle, but quiet, great choice of breakfast and the bistro was lovely for evening meal, beautiful food and dining room. The staff were exceptional, particularly the lovely lady who served us breakfast and supplied us with a great pack up for our walk. Would highly recommend.

Stayed for two nights, lovely clean comfortable room with everything you needed. Really friendly and helpful staff. Location is great, 2/3 min walk into the centre of town. Breakfast included in the price which was really tasty. Short drive from Caster where there is a gorgeous coastal walk.

While there is a Bistro on site, it wasn't open while we were there. The staff made us aware of this very early on though and recommended other places. But just check if its open when planning your trip if you are planning on eating in the hotel.

Gorgeous small hotel in the middle of Alnwick. The staff were exceptional. We were travelling with my elderly father, and they went out of their way to keep an eye out for him. Our room was spacious, extremely comfortable, and beautifully decorated. They've really gone out of their way to attend to the smallest of details, so everything ties together, eg cookies in the room, up-to-date magazines to read. We ate in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast (which was included in our room rate and well worth it too). The food was excellent and for someone who is gluten free they could adapt most things, so I had much more choice than is usually the case. There are lovely communal areas where you can sit and chat and the courtyard gardens look gorgeous. Sadly, it was too cold to sit outside The location in the centre of town made it easy to walk to the castle and gardens. We also had a dog with us and the hotel was dog friendly. There was a great walk across fields just down by the castle (ignoring the notices of cannons being fired from the castle!!) We had no issues parking and got a spot right outside the hotel.

Nothing . Some gluten free cookies would be the icing on the cake!!
