The food and the room were terrific. A really nice pub in beautiful Rothbury. Lovely staff.

I was very confused about the payment as originally I booked at Genius rate at £78 .00. I received a notification 3 days before my payment was going through. But when I got to the hotel it was about £125 and apparently Ibhad not paid. This was a shock as I had to budget carefully for a 5 day trip with accommodation and meals. I paid but now feel very nervous about booking if prices are going to change without any warning or permission. This is a Booking.com mistake...not the Queen's Arms.

The Manager was away and Jaime had been left in charge. She is an asset to this hotel. She did all that she could to make our stay comfortable. The room was good and clean. The en-suite toilet seat was cracked. Jaime replaced it. There was no marmalade for our first breakfast or gluten free bread for my wife (she is coeliac). Jaime sorted that out for next breakfast. An evening dinner was enjoyable and first rate in a good dining room

The room and en-suite looked as if redecorated recently and the ensuite, very spacious, seemed new (see above re toilet seat). However there was nowhere to put anything - toilet bags. razors, and so on - except the floor. I understand that this will be rectified. Whilst not very important I feel that the absence of a phone in the room is to its detriment. My wife and I have mobiles but I do know that some folks don't. If you can't climb stairs don't go. There is no lift.

staff were friendly and informative. large room with fridge and individual cafetieres for coffee. breakfast was one of the best I have had and cooked to order. the owner called me 2 weeks before our stay to confirm they had a band playing the night we were staying and it may be loud if we wanted to change our booking. They also gave us tips on local places to eat which i thought was very helpful.

whilst it was not the fault of the venue there was a power cut about 11pm at night which went on for several hours so we ended up going to bed earlier than planned.

Very clean rooms and in a prime location.. we went to Northumberland zoo from the accommodation the next day and breakfast was included in the price which was lovely.. compliments to the chef for a banging steak not many people get it right so spot on really x

I would be nit picking to complain we got what we paid for.. my bedside light didn't work and when my son flushed the toilet the boiler went mad for two minutes.. we had a great stay so that's irrelevant really..

The staff first and foremost, Becky and the toung blonde lady who looked after us whilst having our evening meal were superb and I couldn’t fault them. The room was perfect and clean and comfortable with good facilities. Bar has a good range of drinks and refreshments with a good atmosphere amongst the staff and the locals who also were very welcoming! Scott the gentleman who prepared and cooked the food was also a lovely lad!!!

Absolutely nothing! I will return as we visit the area annually.

The staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was substantial - although I would have preferred something lighter but not on the menu and was told limited choice - however, meant didn't need to eat again all day!! Good shower and nice thick towels

Room was small with a high window. if I hadn't taken flowers with me the room appeared like a cell - think refurbed but no pictures on the walls I had to keep asking for the towels to be changed as wouldn't dry in the room as no towel rail. We were there for 6 nights and room never cleaned. Bin was emptied when I left it outside the room (where i also left the towels) We were in the attic area, no lift, and I am struggling with a back problem. Not suitable for physically disabled people

The room was extremely spacious and the inclusion of parking was helpful as we didn’t have to fight for parking. Breakfast was great: there was always a choice of cereal and hot food, staff were extremely friendly and knew our drinks order by the final morning. The bar and restaurant downstairs were excellent and you couldn’t hear any commotion when in the bedroom.

Milk had gone off by the 3rd night- but it was a welcome surprise to have fresh milk. We did have one dirty spoon in the room but that was rectified by us cleaning it. The Sticky toffee pudding seemed like it had come out of a microwave but that was the only gripe.

Traditional hotel situated in the heart of the town centre. Pleasant, well appointed room. Good food service for both breakfast and dinner.

The manager admitted they were having issues with both staff retention and recruitment which is a shame. That said, this didn't diminish my experience. Oh yes, they hadn't been able to source any fresh tomatoes for breakfast as all the shops in town had run out, although that was hardly their fault!
