Great location on the harbour front with easy parking. Friendly and helpful reception staff and room was very clean. The communal room with kitchen facilities was amazing. Large comfortable leather sofas with fabulous sunset view over the harbour. Wifi was good.

I prefer to have tea making facilities in my room and although the bathroom was beautifully finished, I found the fixed very high shower head inconvenient to use. Having only a hot tap in the room was unusual and getting a glass of cold water from the communal kitchen was a bit inconvenient.

Very new stylish hostel accommodation. Breakfast was help yourself to drinks, cereal and toast in the communal kitchen / lounge. All split new, high class equipment. Lounge very stylish with wonderful view immediately over the marina. I had a 4 bedded room to myself with an en suite. The door opened onto a balcony overlooking boatyard. There was a cupboard, drawer and coat hook for each bed. Also reading light and phone charging points. There's a bar and ice cream parlour more or less adjacent. My room was on the first floor and there a lift. Amble is an up and coming resort with a mix of new stylish buildings and traditional town and shops. Lots of great coast to explore in the area. I was visiting family in the town.

It wasn't ideal for me as I am on my own, fairly elderly and I really could have done with a bed that wasn't a bunk, a chair and a TV. HOWEVER I was aware that I had booked a hostel which happened to be in a very convenient location for me. It was exceptionally gorgeous for a hostel I think! If I was a bit younger it would have been perfect. So no complaints!

What a fantastic time my two dogs and I had here! We were greeted by the very helpful and friendly Tony who showed us round our room and the communal areas. He was very helpful and kicked our stay off to a wonderful start. It was just a one night stop over before an event in the area the next day but it felt like a mini holiday. The hostel is the most well equipped, clean and modern hostel I've ever stayed in! Everything you could possibly need during your stay, especially the kitchen facilities - free tea, coffee and cooking essentials were so helpful. Easy, free parking right outside the front door too. It was spacious and comfortable, truly dog friendly and the rooms were immaculate. Will definitely be back again when I'm next in the area.

We were a family of 5, traditional hotels do not serve us, this hostel was like a hotel, double bed for us and bunk beds for the children. Complimentary breakfast and tea and coffee in the communal kitchen. Good wifi coverage, we watched live TV on a laptop, children were able to go on their tablets. No tea making facilities in the room for obvious reasons as it is a hostel not a hotel! On the doorstep to fish and chips, ice cream parlour and a lovely walk around the harbour area. Perfect stopping point before we travelled onto Scotland.

Nothing - would stay again!!!

The owner was incredibly helpful and kind - upgraded our group of four to a bigger room to give us more space and also very kindly allowed us to pick up our keys and leave our bags early as we were at an event during the standard check in hours. The rooms were very clean and well designed. The communal area was brilliant for a late night cup of tea after our evening out and there were fridges, microwaves, toasters and hobs for food storage and cooking. Very impressed by the facilities and the care taken by the staff - thank you.

Taps in the en suite bathrooms are not temperature adjustable - which isn’t a huge deal at all but would have been nice to be able to grab a glass of water or wash hands in hotter water etc. There are bottles and cups provided for you to get water from the communal kitchen and bring it back to the room, though!

The location is simply perfect, minutes away from some of the best seafood restaurants in the North, the rooms huge and modern, the communal areas including the lounge and kitchen stylish, spacious and impeccably clean. All views to die for. Parking right outside and safe and large lift to transport to different floors. But my favourite part was the gorgeous welcome my four year old daughter and I were greeted with by Tony and his staff. I felt very safe here and very spoiled. Thank you. We can't wait to return.

Having to leave :)

Very clean, spacious accommodation. Perfect for a large family- we do find it difficult to get the space we need but this suited us perfectly. Rooms were well thought out with wireless charging, lots of plug points. Shared space was clean, well kept. Kitchen had everything you would need to cook for yourself- plenty of pots, plates, utensils & a supermarket just minutes away. We did breakfast only but would be happy to cook a meal if we stayed longer another time. Super host, very friendly.

Minor thing (and not a game changer) but the emergency green light in the ceiling was a bit annoying for the person in the top bunk nearest. Was quite bright!

The rest of the place was incredibly well considered and planned with the traveller in mind. Would have liked to have squash or something for kids to drink. Be good to have takeaway menus in the lounge area to choose from. All areas were sparkling clean. And the view from lounge / kitchen amazing 😍😍 Great to have free breakfast though - cereal, toast and jam! All bed areas have usb charging points, plugs and lights and a shelf. Pic obviously not of bathroom but of communal kitchen as it was amazing!

Beds were a little too firm and I would have liked two pillows those used to a soft mattress may struggle to sleep a little Wish I had known in advance to bring a towel (I know I should read Hitch hikers guide to the galaxy!!)

Radcliffe's Lodge is fantastic, and unlike any hostel we've stayed in before. The location and views are amazing, the rooms are spacious and well designed, and the huge, stylish communal area is exceptional. All the staff were helpful and really friendly, and we particularly enjoyed our conversations with Tony, the proprietor, and Lisa. Thanks to everyone for providing such a great experience!

A brilliant hostel - especially for bike packers!! The best bike storage we’ve come across during our entire trip. Amazing lodgings with a spacious and comfortable shared living area overlooking the Marina. The best kitchen with everything you could possibly need. The supermarket is right around the corner to get all supplies. Washing machine and dryer for use at a very reasonable price. Lots of cereal options for breakfast as well as bread for toasting. We really loved our stay!
